my wildly unpopular lis opinion is that even in a world where rachel and chloe both survive and make it out of arcadia bay together i think amberprice would still be doomed to end badly and in a way that would fuck chloe up for the rest of her life. and that's what i find so compelling about them.
#and it's also what makes pricefield hit so hard#yes rachel and chloe loved each other yes rachel saved chloe's life and gave her a reason to live after losing her dad and max all at once#but also yes that love was fundamentally unbalanced. chloe would've chosen rachel over anything for better or worse#but there is simply no world where rachel would do the same for her. but max would and does. over and over and over.#anyway this is all to say: pricefield soulmates and amberprice deliciously doomed forever and ever and ever
