ysayle bakes her gf a nameday cake
So it has been a VERY long time since I have done any tumblr roleplay. And I only just tipped my toes when it comes to FFXIV RP here. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and I will have to do some updating to my info (namely only where I am in MSQ, made a lot of progress in DT) but I....think I am good?
My name is Coco and on here I have Ysayle and might bring my WoL once I feel more confident with her. Really hope to find more FFXIV folks both OC and canon to RP with.
Thanks to all of you who have followed me back, I super appreciate it.
♡
If you have an OC and would like to discuss dynamics with Ysayle, feel free to like this post! And for canon characters I'm happy to do first meeting type scenarios to let things happen naturally (assuming they don't already know each other).

Roleplay blog for Ysayle Dangoulain and looking for some other FFXIV roleplayers! Happy to play with any NPCs or OCs and would appreciate any and all reblogs.
I rise from the dead and have finally finished EW in time for DT.
Hi all.
More for future since I can't take on many new threads right now but if anyone would like to ship with Ysayle please let me know. I'm a sucker and the poor woman needs some affection.
I'd super love to hear any thoughts of hcs or interests folks have and how OCs interpret their characters relationship with her.
Only requirement would be the character be 20+

It had been a huge mistake to go off and do what he did, but what hurt worse to him was the fact that others were harmed because of it. He was not sure if it would have turned out the same way, if he was there or not, but the present pain flared and was a heavy reminder of his consequences. There was some time that passed, but he did not know how long he had been weaving in and out of consciousness.
Blurred gaze swept around, trying to find the source of the voice speaking to him, and it hurt to move much. “Yes…?” He stared at what seemed to be a sheet, pale white and almost ghost-like as whatever breeze came on by from air circulating the massive room. People came and went, always checking in on the survivors, and especially on his progress. Not long ago did he gain some semblance of awareness that he was somewhere safe, and enough to be at some vague peace of mind.
“Is something up?” Kitt did not feel like fighting anyone else, at the moment, and especially not after his first real loss in combat. It was worse than being jumped by bandits, pummeled into the ground by many who outnumbered him. No, this foe had been a single target, and possibly one of his greatest. It almost terrified him, but seemed to wildly appropriate to finally be taken down by someone stronger. “I… don’t know if I can stand, right now… but if there’s trouble, I’ll try…” He started to move, to make the attempt to sit up, and pain flared all over where he had been struck through. A wince, and a groan, his back hitting the pillow as his body stubbornly refused his will.

“...”
It tore fiercely at her heart, those words.
“I don’t know if I can stand right now but if there’s trouble I’ll try.”
He had been grievously hurt to the point where standing hurt him and still he sought to put himself in the fray. Had he not done enough? Was this always a part of Kitt’s personality or was it the heavy mantle of Warrior of Light forced upon him that had forged him so? He had already done so much for Ishgard, for Eorzea...he should be allowed his rest.
She hesitated. That he had had not reaction meant he hadn’t recognized her by voice so she didn’t want to barge on it.
“No, Kitt. No. You rest. I’m here to help you but I fear startling you.”
She licked her lips nervously, not doubting herself. Would she be a welcome sight? Or would he see the woman that had fought against him as a Primal, the one who had taken so many innocent lives at the Steppes? A hand curled around the curtain, not yet pulling it.
“Tis. Tis I. Ysayle.”
Estinien really had no need to follow the Scions around. He's not a Scion. He's avoiding war. There are too many connections he has that he doesn't know if they're just part of the Azure Dragoon and not of him. Hanging around them and participating in their wars is completely counterintuitive to his mission of traveling, seeing who he is outside of bloodshed.
And yet. Here he stands. Well, the thing is... it'd just be a shame if these wannabe heroes died here. That's all. It's just that his travels brought him around here, so he may as well help out. Destroying the Garlean's prize cannon is a supremely trivial task.
Some all-powerful weapon this outpost has. Estinien means to leave, his work completed, but... so long as he's already here, it couldn't hurt to check on the Scions properly. It's quick work to hope just close enough to see they're all in one piece, and that's—
hold on.
There's the unmistakable presence of someone who really shouldn't be there, because last he heard, she was dead. Estinien's on his way over before he even thinks about it, or about his attempts to travel with minimal connection.
Of course Alphinaud's enthusiastic to see him. Estinien indulges him for a little while, but that still isn't answering his question... ah. There she is. "Ysayle." His voice cuts across the space between them. Casual tone, no audible shock or distress, he's keeping that modulated. Causing scenes is... unpleasant for him. "I had been labouring under the impression you were dead. Unless I'm seeing things?"
While certainly not as surprised as he must be, seeing someone he believed to be dead, Ysayle also finds herself caught off guard. Given his disappearance after the heinous ordeal he had undergone when Nidhogg had robbed him of his body, somewhere in the back of her mind she'd always been worried.
Much like Estinien, however, she doesn't care to act out some scene and there are already plenty of eyes upon them. Awkward. So she walks forth, closing the distance between them. As she passes by Alphinaud she exchanges some quick words with him about the medical supplies she managed to scrounge up before handing them to him.
She finishes making her way to Estinien before speaking.
"If so, then it is a hallucination shared by many." She inclines her head towards the gates where they can move to have a little more privacy to speak.
She gives him a furtive once over...he....seems ok? Yet she knew better than to assume anything based on looks
"Shiv--the Primal's magic preserved my body till I was found by Vidofnir."

I love her
@cnavant
Lex certainly hadn't treated her with hostility, but given the tumultuous beginning of their acquaintance she had simply thought him to be setting aside any dislike for the greater good. When she had destroyed the seals of Ishgard to let the dragons in, she had believed they would focus on the Vault so that they may kill the man responsible for all the lies and continued violence of the Dragonsong War.
Instead they had just attacked whatever came within their sight. At first she had tried to defer responsibility, to excuse herself by saying the dragons were beyond her control---but she should have known that from the start. She had naively believed that because the dragons were the original victims that they would just want whatever would best put an end to this war.
Certainly there were some like that such as Vidofnir, but Nidhogg and his horde were different. Because of her stupidity not only had innocent people died, but they had been of those most disenfranchised civilians of the Brume.
"I. Thank you." She felt at a loss for words. Aside his willingness to give her a second chance no one had spoken so casually to her in as far as she could remember. Perhaps it was a simple, barely noticeable thing to others, but to her it meant a lot.
Her gaze drops down to the carbuncle at her feet and her eyes crinkle ever so slightly. She shifts to her knees to hold out a tentative hand to the adorable creature before carefully petting them.

👌 for Leanan or Astraeus, 💥for Igeyorhm?

For Leanan I would absolutely be down for plotting something out. Given she's Ishgardian and none too pleased with nobles they would probably have common ground there and get on, but given how the Brume received the brunt of the attack on the Steppes it could also go whichever way.
Previous to that, however, maybe we can plot something out with Leanan having been one of their primary go to for purchases when it came to Ysayle's particular band of heretics?
For Astaeus I saw they were...an...Azem? Which I am not far enough in the game to really know what that is. I know it's a term but whether it's a title/species/job?? I'm not sure so for the time being I'd like to put that to the side but in the future once I'm caught up definitely!

Similarly I'm still in the dark about the Ascians other than the whole Zodiark plot. Which of course this being a JRPG I'm sure it's not as simple as 'bad guys want to summon badder guy' but this one might be a bit easier to manage. I'm not sure if it's ever revealed which Ascian it was that first contacted Ysayle about summoning Shiva but there's opportunity there!
And Ysayle would be very unhappy with the Ascians in the circumstances in which she survived and came to learn more of them via the Scions.

Meiko considered it. Estinen was a rude arse, that was true. She wanted to push him over in the snow. However...
"I think he's hopin' it goes tits up," she started. "He wants a reason to charge at Nidhogg and take him out once an' for all, and I get that. But there's gotta be a small part o' him that's at least curious. If we do suddenly bring peace without a struggle, he'd probably be bloody disappointed. Like a sailor who can't finishin himself off."
She shook her head.
"I don't know the bastard much better than you do. But I trust Ser Aymeric wouldn't send us off with someone who'd definitely put that peace at risk. So. We'll just have to see."
Sighing, she glanced back the way they came and hoped A'kihiko was having luck calming the Azure Dragoon down. Maybe they were doing target practice on snowmen or something.
"You think Hraesvelgr'll listen? I know you've... sorta a history with him, but it's still askin' him to turn against his brother, aye?"
Now there was much of Ishgardian society that Ysayle regarded with disdain. So much of it was pretense and putting on airs, stifling expression and individuality. So much emphasis was put on the idea of purity when in her experience purity was simply a means of forcing all into a very specific box, and condemning all who did not conform to it.
Which is all to say she was of a manner that would like make the average Ishgardian faint, but even she was caught off guard by what Meiko said--it elicits a small choked noise from her.
"Well now."
"Not quite a way I wished to think of him." She responds dryly, and despite her initial shock, with some humor.
At the question of Hraevelgr, however, she gives a small shake of her head.
"I'm not certain. As you say it is asking him to turn against his brother, but I hope that it will not come to that. Doubtless he has tried to convince Nidhogg in the past of the futility of this war, but with neither knowing how committed we Ishgardians will be to peace when twice over it has been we who have begun the violence...maybe they felt it too great a risk to try. If they can see that we truly mean to put an end to all this then perhaps.........perhaps. We must at least make an attempt, no? I am certain my love wishes for it just as much as we, if not more."
Continued from here
He's right, of course. A part of Ysayle fears that agreeing with that is a way to deny accountability again--something she had already done once when confronted with her much worse sins committed at the Steppes, but even if it did mean she was giving herself an easy way out better that than dwell in indulgent wallowing.
So long as she learned from them, strove to not repeat them, and did her best to atone.
Still. Now that she knows what a tempered person was like she can't help but think with revulsion upon what she had done. What might have been if she ever allowed the false Shiva to occupy others when among those who took up her cause.
She shouldn't forget her mistakes or ignore them, but she supposes it does no good to let them prevent her from doing better.
"Is there truly no cure for tempering. Young Alisaie seems to be taking this particularly hard."
@healingshard
Ysayle had never had the chance to meet Haurchefant, but she felt that she had a good image of him from what Alphinaud and many other of her own people had painted for her. Even among the most disillusioned towards the nobles of Ishgards of her "heretics" the bastard son of the House Fortemps had been one spoken of highly for being the few who truly embodied the noble spirit of a knight.
While Ysayle had never doubted this, absolutely no one could question how true his desire to protect was after all that had happened. It made her wish she had had the opportunity to meet him properly, rather than catching only a glimpse of him before he and the Warrior of Light had gone to save Ser Aymeric.
It was sad to hear that yet another person so loved by many had been taken by this senseless war, but having never known him Ysayle could not feel that loss on a personal level.
One who could, however, was Fuyu.
When Ysayle had heard of the Warrior of Light there had never been any mention of the girl's age. Only her great accomplishments, and so when she first saw her in Snow Cloak Ysayle had been shocked. At first she dismissed the appearance--Au'ri women after all where known for being small, and so perhaps it was just her height that had thrown her off. Yet when she saw her for a second time at the amphitheater it became evident that her estimate had not been wrong.
It was horrifying. That one so young should be forced to bear such responsibilities and doubtless she was feeling the strain of it all now. Thordan may have been defeated, but things were far from over, and this was the first downtime any of them had had in a long time.
With a tray of tea and biscuits in hand Ysayle made her way over to the room where the Warrior of Light was staying and knocked on it lightly.
"Fuyu. It's me Ysayle. Are you there?"
Hopefully she was not interrupting her rest.
