Yeah, it’s a lot to adjust to when you get into the business. Like for you it was a huge change and you didn’t have anyone to tell you some stuff. Me on the other hand, I was on tv since I was really young and I didn’t know a life without cameras up until recently when I moved into my own apartment and don’t get filmed all the time. Even if you didn’t say anything, they’d make it up. When they don’t get real drama from you they just go make some, like those awful rumors about Scott and me. But it’s never too late to learn to distance yourself from it, give yourself more credit. At least you’re being honest.
Now that’s the worst, those rumours. I guess I’m blessed in that I’m only halfway in between indie-fame and fame. People mainly care about the music, not my personal life, and they’re not even tearing apart the meaning in the music just to figure out who each song’s about like they do with Taylor’s stuff. But I’m a lot prouder of my progress with the media than I am of being the youngest Grammy-winning songwriter or you are of having Instagram’s most liked photo or such. I actually figured out how to stop “dissing” people!Â
Yeah, yeah, at least I’m honest, try telling that to Selena.
