OH HI I’M STILL ALIVE :)
Need a quick break from my current workout so here I am! Here's my weight chart - it's kind of amusing because the dip in mid-to-end January was when I started intermittent fasting, but then the bump up was a birthday dinner and Chinese New Year - followed by lots of CNY goodies to slowly work through. Haha. So ups and downs for me, but I have new fitness goals and I'm going to be a lot more mindful of my eating. And look! Today I hit the lowest weight in the last 3 months. Pretty cool!
It looks like a crazy graph but it's in the same 3 pound span. Sheesh.
Anyway, more writing later. I have deadlifts to do!!
I wrote about finally fitting into this dress a while back. Way back in June! I love love love this dress, and I was so happy that it finally fit me again!
.....Aaand then I never got around to wearing it anywhere.
BUT GUYS I FINALLY GOT TO WEAR IT THIS WEEKEND!
I wore it to my friend’s wedding and rocked it!! AHHHH!
Sorry I don’t have a better shot of me in it but it fit me the same as above.
Me and my brother at the wedding :D
And c’mon lets be honest, I WAS THE CUTEST GUEST THERE THAT NIGHT. :D YAY!!
Selfie because I seriously like this picture yayyyyyy!
My morning. Life is hard.
Sometimes I would get these terrible bouts of toe cramps. I’d have one or two toes suddenly seize up and it would feel AWFUL. I never knew why that happened. I just thought it was just my body going into random derp mode so I never bothered to look up possible reasons. It wasn’t until not that long ago when I finally read that dehydration can be a cause of cramps in your feet, and that made a lot of sense to me because I’ve always been terrible with drinking enough water. Thankfully now I make an effort to stay well hydrated and it’s suuuper rare if I ever get toe cramps now. (On a related note, I am still using Hydro Coach every single day. Highly recommended!)
But today! ohhh gosh, today. I got up pretty early and I barely managed to get in maybe 2 quick sips of tea before heading out for an interview in the afternoon. I didn’t think it’d be a big deal if I skipped drinking anything until afterwards. Who wants a pee break in the middle of an interview anyway? So I didn’t drink anything until a few sips of coffee at about 4pm. (They added cream and sugar to my black coffee too.. -_- But I didn’t ask for a new one because it still tasted decent. But I digress!) By about 5pm, I had the WORST toe cramps I’ve ever had! I swear all of my toes on both feet were just DYING. I was trying to cook at the time too; so that was NOOO fun hopping around with cramped toes trying to saute onions..
I’ve been chugging water and tea ever since then and now I feel so much better! I think maybe my body’s been so used to being so well hydrated now that it just went haywire when I suddenly stopped the water flowing. Geebus. Lesson learned.
Stay hydrated and have a glass of water! Cheers!
I stopped being a baby and had my workout, haha. Weights lifted, feeling good!
IT'S COLD!!
My hands and shoulders are hurting pretty bad today. I'm debating on working out at all.. normal lifting? Bodyweight exercises? Rest day? Just yoga and foam rolling? So many choices.
And then there's Snapchat. Following lots of fitness people on Snapchat is both a blessing and a curse because they're all so motivating!
My shoulders are crying today after my last few workouts. NNGGHH.
I need to work out these knots in my shoulders/back.
I should do more cardio.
*5 minutes into cardio*
OHLAWDHAVEMERCY.
Oh lordy. I got up early for some dimsum with my relatives.
I had a nice long appointment to get a new furnace for the home.
I went back to working on finishing up the resume and cover letter.
And goshdarnit I don’t feel like I’ve really done anything today but I am so tired.
Its only 9pm right now and my body is rather drained. I wonder if I just need more sleep in general, or maybe it’s because today ended up being a total cheat day with lots of CNY snacking. (Those homemade sesame seed balls though!!!)
I hopped on that train to CARB CITY today and then made a pit stop to SUGAR MOUNTAIN. I’m definitely looking forward to going back to normal eating tomorrow. AND MAYBE DEADLIFTS??? FINGERS CROSSED.
I HAVEN’T WORKED OUT IN LIKE THREE DAAYSSS AHHHHHH.
I’m definitely going to try sleeping earlier today.
Happy Chinese New Year!
Bonus selfie. YAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! 😄💪✌👍
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
That is all.
Today was rough! Woke up with some major DOMS. I wanted to do way more but I just ended up doing a half hour low impact Fitness Blender vid and a nice yoga session after. Lets call it a semi-rest day. Also, stairs suck! My legs are still dead tonight but I'm hoping to feel all good tomorrow so I can get to deadlift. Fingers crossed!
I lovelovelove the Hydro Coach app! It has really helped me keep on top of staying hydrated since getting it and I highly recommend it.
I used to use Plant Nanny to track my water intake, and it definitely wins with the cute factor of having these little plants to take care of. But I couldn’t go back and edit my water intake with that app.. And once it hit midnight, Plant Nanny would immediately start a new day.. so if you didn’t track your water by then, you’d be screwed. And me, well I always tracked late. I mean, me sleep before midnight? Yeah right! So that app got so frustrating! My plants would die and I’d have to start all over again and after so long, it started to really annoy me rather than motivate me.
So when I got my new phone, I gave up on Plant Nanny and fell in love with Hydro Coach instead. It’s nice and simple to use, has a very clean interface, it’s super quick to load and nicely customisable. I put in my weight, how active I am and it gave me a recommended amount to drink each day. I also put in my waking hours and it gives me gentle reminders between that time if I fall behind on my water. And I can write in exactly what I had to drink and colour code it all as well. Oh it’s past midnight now? No biggie! No dead plants making you feel like a bad plant mom here! And you can go back and edit your entries easily. The only slightly annoying thing is that the ads can get in the way with the free version, but no big deal. It’s still perfect for me and it feels good to keep hydrated.
Drink more water now 👍
Here’s where my weight’s been at over the last month. I can see where it kinda goes down a bit in the last week or two and stays more steady. This is from when I started my version of intermittent fasting; so that’s pretty neat. I don’t have a real goal in mind; losing another 5 pounds or so would be nice but I’m much more into seeing physical changes than the number on the scale. Come oooon, body fat! You go down now!
Still enjoying these slight diet changes. Again I won’t say that eating between x and y time will make you lose weight. In the end, it’s all about calories in/calories out. I’ve just been rearranging my calories: skipping breakfast and limiting any snacking in order to save those calories for lunch and dinner. And it also helps to not overeat in general and to be more aware of what you’re eating. (And water. Drink all the water. Which reminds me, I should drink more now..)
I woke up late (no surprise there) and feel those DOMS today so this may be a rest day for me. Huzzah.
