intro post!

I want to stay safe / private, so I made this new account as I was previous using a 10+ year old account. My username is a play of the name of my favorite show of all time, in case no one picks up on that, lol. I’ve been the biggest XF nerd since the late 90s 🤓

I got into lyft1ing because the level to which corporate greed is destroying our earth and people's lives fills me a rage that cannot be expressed. (Also bc of the insane cost of living and inflation, obvs).

I’ve been reading the LP sub and I wonder how much of this is posturing. They claim they have all your info, your families info, etc. Other than bigb0x stores who are notorious for it, I sincerely doubt anyone is doing that kind of investigating, esp when the lps at certain stores complain to this day how bad the technology or policies are. They themselves admit they only casebuild if they messed up catching someone the first time (of course, they won’t admit that it was their mistake or how much they have missed)

Not that any of this is meant to be reassuring- I would always assume the worst and I figure they probably have much more information than one expects. But the personalities that that profession attracts are very interesting

I think it’s a unique sort of job thats cop-adjacent, but without any of the (minimal) responsibilities that cops do have. LP never has to chase down actual violent criminals or respond to distress calls, they can just sit in their offices all day and watch cctv.

Reddit LP especially is way overconfident. Actual LP training material almost always goes over the fact that most people are going to get away with it. That’s why they focus on preventative measures so much.

You guys, I am so fucking depressed and sick over what’s happened. One of my absolute favorite stores - a more expensive grocery store - is absolutely on to me. And not just one location, like the whole region, I’m pretty sure. I thought I was being paranoid but I walked into one a few days ago to test it out, and I was 100% recognized by a clerk… he literally dropped his jaw and opened his eyes wide when he saw me. What’s crazy is I’ve never done any super-high amount lifts at any of the stores.. the highest one was $160, and that was ONCE. Otherwise they’ve all been $100 or less, and I’d say an average of about $40 per trip. But now I’m in their system, I just know it, and I can’t go back for a long time. I’m so fucking ANGRY with myself for being so stupid. I feel sick over this.

🧬 with /\/\@C¥’S - my order arrived in 2 shipments, but both on the same day (which is good I think). The first item ($120) they refunded me immediately. However, I had to fight to get the more expensive item ($250) refunded - and this is an account I’ve had for 15 years with many purchases, and I’ve never had a package go missing before. So I don’t recommend 🧬-ing for that high of an amount with this store, just fyi.

UPDATE - they are refusing to refund me for the more expensive ($250) item. I have called FOUR TIMES NOW - it’s been put in for a “final” review. I am losing my mind, I’m so FUCKING INFURIATED!!! I’ve had this account for FIFTEEN YEARS!!!! - and haven’t ever had anything like this happen or done a 🧬 before! It’s insane that they’re treating a long time customer this way. I’d understand if it was a new account, but WOW! So basically if they deny this final request, I have to dispute it with my bank, which sucks bc I actually used a 3rd party service - so I’ll have to dispute 3 different charges with my bank. FUCK my LIFE. I refuse to take an L. It’s the Taurus rising in me lmao
