To put things in perspective, I actually do enjoy all the moments with the Oz Team. I really enjoyed the gray moments of morality, I think they did well writing them walking on a tightrope. Trying to make the right choices and balance things was fun to see.
Why I enjoy it so much is because I think both argument has good points and bad ones. I do find myself siding more with James - probably due to him being my lovely bias - but also I do feel how frustrating it is that taking action can't happen.
However I can't say Oz was wrong either. Even if I don't agree about being sneaky, I can get why he wants to do things that way. And what do you know? It does work out.
It's only after V3 where we now have to rely on the kids to be gray, which... is not working, obviously.
They don't want to look at things for the good and bad. They want everything to be fixed with a wave of a Staff and point the finger at somebody else. Both Teams are not right to make choices that constantly keep everyone else in danger.
I really hate how the show made Oz whipped and obedient now, he doesn't have authority like before. All he can do is just talk to Oscar and occasionally the Teams. Even if he's dropping wisdom, he's been dissolved into just a disembodied voice that the kids always ignore.
Glynda just got thrown out of the entire show like she didn't see exist. Only made one glimpse in V8, but then nothing after.
Qrow keeps getting his knees capped every time by the Teams' toxic behaviour, so much so that he's now become unlikable and detestable, starting to now reflect the Teams' own rancid attitude.
James was just damned straight to Hell for still being a remnant of that old RWBY that was trying to be morally good but gray. He did what he could and yet he was alone to deal with everything, only to kill him because he was right.
I wish the show just had the Oz Team still together. I really hate how they just disassembled and lost that system they had together. I feel like they had more done than what Team RWBY are doing - hey at least they tried to do something.
Why the writers made them split up makes no sense.
