WINGMAN LOADING II
Okul "The Kame'tire Herbalist" x GN! Na'vi Reader
Summary: Mission was a success?
A/N: I might do a third one... Not proofread. I need some HC to inspire more fics. Do any of you guys have any favorites? I have so many fics written out but not finished due to struggling to really grasp their personality.
Teylan thought for hours which turned into days, about how to get you two even in the same room again. It always seemed that when he had one half, the other was leaving. It was beginning to frustrate the young Na'vi. The day it came to him he was tinkering with sky people's cool tech, he almost dropped the delicate metal. He is going to fake am emeregncy! Sure it might not be smart nor original but in the long run after all is forgiven you two will be happy together, all thanks to his courageous act!
He grabs his trusty tablet, recording his plan out loud, to come to later in order to revise.
"Ok ok— I have a plan to bring Okul and Y/n together! They dance around each other so weirdly and it makes me upset that they do not talk." He pauses, thinking if he should really do this but he releases a dignified huff. No he must do this, for his friends!
"Y/n is always busy, they don't allow themselves to feel! They are always off helping Tamtey, they are barley home now. Okul visits quite often but I think they are getting tired of my voice. Every time I look over their gaze and mind are elsewhere. They ask about Y/n so often I think it might be all they think of now.
Anyways, my plan—yes. There is a mission coming up soon and Y/n jumped right on it. They're flying solo this time but I insisted that I join, just to you know—gather more tech! Tamtey is going to be out with Anufi from the Kame'tire clan, gathering more intel on Harding and her activity in the clouded forest. Okul has to be joining them of course. So with Y/n and I out on the mission, I am going to lie and tell them that we are surrounded by RDA and need help! When we get back alive and well, hopefully it will trigger Okul to finally talk to Y/n!"
He stops his recording already feeling victorious. He stashes his tablet away, surveying the area to make sure no one heard. In the clear, he slips away from his hiding spot ready to set his plan into action.
Greenery has grown over the destroyed RDA depot. Pandora is healing but the scars still remain, just as yours. You fight the urge to scratch your back free of the scab from the scar on your back. You roll your head with an annoyed groan. Teylan missteps accidentally stepping on the back of your heels.
"Teylan—" You hiss, glaring back at the nervous Sarentu.
"Oh! Sorry sorry…" He feels as if he could fold in on himself. The days leading up he felt very confident that this would work but now he worries that he will get in trouble. He swats at his twitchy ears, irritated that they always show when he is anxiously hiding a secret.
The area seems peaceful and truly abandoned but one should always be aware of their surroundings. Every sound, every creek has you looking over your shoulder in suspicion. Teylans recklessness isn't helping the case. He quickly broke off to find some computer terminals that he caught onto using SID. You being left alone to gather whatever it was So'lek yearned for. As you comb through forgotten files of important names, your ears flick to the sound of one those dragon ships. Hard and rough landing of heavy machinery dropping near by and doesn't sound like it's one or two.
You crouch quickly as you scope the area. Eyes widening at the sight as dread began to set. Your hands reach for the comms,
"Teylan, where are you?"
You are only met with the scratchy distorted sounds. A deep scowl presses into your cheeks as you comm to the rest of the resistance.
"We've come in to contact with RDA. What is so important out this site?"
Voices echo through the comms as other try to figure out the explanation but all fall to deaf ears as you slowly and carefully make your way to Teylans last known whereabouts. With you back pressed against a metal crate you peek over, there he is. Held against his will, hands in the air as he begs for his life. Their guns pointed at his face as they taunt him and try to get him to fuss out some information. I reach back for my arrows. Steadying my gaze on the AMP suits weak points. Pulling back into the string fights be back, eager to release. When I do, the AMP explodes as the human inside cries out in pain before falling limp. Teylan scammers back, eyes scanning the area but you've already moved. Taking down the humans without the suits were easy enough. All the going well, hiding in the shadows until heat and pain aches from the side of your thigh. Glancing down, red begins to paint your leg, making you duck behind a pillar.
"I've been hit. Teylan where are you." I yell into the comms. You can hear the last AMP suit come closer, Bullets wiz past your spot, ricocheting off the wall and onto the floor. You lean your head against the pillar, silent prayer leaving your lips meant only for Eywa. You reach for your last arrow, pushing yourself away from the pillar into the open ready to fire at the AMP.
A thunderous thump causes you stop as you watch the machine fall to the floor, defeated. You lower your bow hesitantly as Teylan stares back you, equally roughed up.
"Tey-" Your words falter as the Na'vi collapses, unconscious.
"Teylan!" You scramble forward, scanning him.
"What is wrong? Teylan!" Your hands move on their own, pushing his belt out of the way to check his stomach, his back, until you find it. A wound on the top of his head. Fingers pressing on the comms once again.
"We are coming back."
You struggle between carrying Teylans unconscious body to Wo'ni and Ada and avoiding too much pressure on my dripping leg. Pushing Teylan to rest over Wo'ni's back you call for Ada to follow. You're vision becoming blurry with tiny black dots making you squint to see properly but nothing you did helped stop the dot from appearing bigger. Once back at the Resistance base, people are waiting out the front of the cave, worry covering their faces as they watch Wo'ni land exhausted almost flattening onto the rocky ground after having to carry your pain. You can't tell what is happening as hands reach out touching, dragging, pulling at the two of you from her back. You didn't realize it till now but another bullet had hit the same side of your injured leg but lodging into your stomach.
You weren't sure how you were still alive but Eywa kept you safe. One last glance towards the cloudy skies a familiar green and blue face looms over yours, eyes wide and desperate. Words leave their lips but it doesn't reach your ears before you close your eyes, lost to the pain. Distorted is how you feel when you finally wake again. Familiar cold and hard rock fills your vision. You must be laying on your back because you look to side and see Teylans frame, his chest still rises and falls. He will be ok. You relax just a touch but it vanishes when you catch onto something scraping the floor. You attempt to sit up but a warm hand stops you, pushing you down. You grunt, feeling the sores from your wounds, begging you to stop moving.
"You cannot be serious."
It makes you stop any movement. You look down the hand follow past to the arm connected to..
"Okul?" You croak, throat very dry after so much time spent sleeping. They only scoff as they come closer to push you back to rest but before they do that they fluff the pillow to support your head better. They suck their teeth, fussing over the pillow, carefully guiding your head to a comfortable spot. Smoothing your hair out of your face.
"I will grab you water. Stay here, if I see you've moved even a hair, I will finish you myself." With that they whip away and leave the room. You're back to staring at the boring ceiling. You desperately want to look over at Teylan just to be sure he is truly ok but their threat seemed serious. Fingers toying with the sheets of the cot. You allow the damp cold air to fill your lungs, the feeling of the tape attached to your skin that hold the gauze close. The sounds of feet slapping against the rocky floors near, tearing your gaze from the boring grey stone to them.
They say nothing as they reach to help you sit up and feed you water with their empty hand. Watching intently as the water disappears into your cracked lips. When you finish you lick your lips satisfied and open your mouth to speak but they simply lift a finger to stop you as they shift away to Teylan. You sit up now, watching them wring out an old cloth with new water before placing it back on Teylan's head.
"Are you ok?" Your voice is already improving. Hands moving from the cot to tinkering with your hair as they move facing their back to you. They don't reply right away but their tail catches your eye. The way it flicks and thrashes in the air, tells you everything you need to know.
"I apologize if we scared you all. We hadn't expected sky people to be near."
Okul doesn't respond instead their ear flicks. They're listening. They can't respond. If they do, it won't be of a sane mind. They had accompanied Tamtey and Anufi on their little excursion, not wanting to miss out on any lessons from their Tsahik but hearing your rushed and panicked voice crackle through Tamtey strange tech made them zero in. They stood around the resistance HQ, waiting to hear any updates. They watched as the humans ran around scrambling for explanations, dealing with the demands of So'lek and Tamtey. Then they heard your voice once more.
'I've been hit…'
It echoed in their memories as their gaze finally breaks from the chaos to the sound box your voice came from. They couldn't help but grip the strange machine, wiggling it hoping your voice would sound through the mesh. You couldn't do this, they needed to see you again. To tell you how they feel. How they've fallen madly in love with your exhausted face. They've lingered for who knows how long, helping prep for your potential arrival. The others have been sent out to search for you two but when the sound of a familiar fierce Ikran echoes in the cave all movement stopped. They watched you, slide from Wo'ni's back with Teylan's senseless body in tow. You crumbled to the floor, legs giving out. The blood that covered your body was dark and thick like paint. They were quick to move their feet, wrapping their arms around your body as they tugged you with everything they had to the healers tent.
You have barely healed the large scar and here you are throwing yourself into another battle. After the pair was cleaned up, they could stare in frustration and worry. Why must you be like this? Why did you care so little about giving yourself time to relax? Their hand carefully slips into yours as you sleep unaware of the life around you. You had twitched and moaned softly in your sleep causing them to let go immediately and create distance between the two of you, much to their dismay. That's when you awoke.
Now, they can't even bother looking at you right now. Not when you act like a confused deer after trying to get yourself killed. No apology could fix your injuries, or make them look at you. After placing the cold rag on Teylan's head they leave the room to grab you more water. They roughly grab a pitcher and pour the liquid into the cup. Face screwed tight, nose scrunched up and mouth twisted into a deep frown. The pitcher slams into the table causing a few heads to turn their way. They can feel the heat of their stares but they ignore them, who they can't ignore though is the soft hand on their shoulder. They growl softly,
"If that is you little warrior I swear." They turn ready to scold you but pause, brow muscle raised to see Tamtey. The glass of water almost slips from their grip as their attitude flips.
"Sarentu, what is the matter?"
"You are…tense." She states the obvious, taking the glass from their tight grip.
"Perhaps I should take this to Y/n. By your reaction I take that they are trying to move already." She laughs softly but it turns into a small smile.
"Take a break. You've done so much for us."
Okul hesitates but shakes their head stubbornly while reaching for the water again.
"No. I will take this to them."
It comes off short and sharp despite their frazzled expression, but it doesn't catch the Sarentu off guard. She raises the glass away from them with a more pointed stare.
"I will. Go eat." Her voice is gentle but affirmative. They stand still, hand still reaching out wondering if they should actually listen to her but the quirk in her brow tells them she won't give up. A slow nod makes a smile appear on her lips as she shoos them away, taking the water pitcher with her. They slump onto a seating mat, fiddling with their loincloth as they wait for food to finish cooking. Their mind runs wild as they think about you, how you must feel. They regret leaving so quickly and cutting you off. They hope you aren't upset with them now. What if you never want to talk to them again? Do you hate them now?
They quickly shove the rest of their food into their mouth before speed walking back towards the healers tent. They haphazardly wipe their mouth off, as they slip inside. Head poking around the corner to see you sitting up, cup of empty water in hand. They watch as you stare at the pitcher but how you make no movement to grasp it concerns them.
"Let me get that for you." They call out causing you to flinch at their sudden appearance. You watch them pour into your glass with no words exchanged. Okul can't help but finally get a good look at your face. You look distant, tired even after a long rest.
"What is wrong? Are your injuries still causing pain?" They kneel down to look closely at the perfectly dressed wounds but you place your hand in between their view and you bandages.
"No… I-" You struggle to finish your sentence as you turn your face away from them. Emotion overwhelming your senses as your throat tightens like barbed wire. They stare at your shielded state and rest their hand over yours.
"Y/n. This isn't your fault." They gently whisper but it doesn't stop the memories of losing everything you've ever known to fill you r head with doubts.
"Eywa has mistaken my life's path with an others." You murmur, pulling away from them. You're words makes them furrow suspiciously as they only curl closer to you, half of their body resting on the cot with you as their hand trails the curve of your cheek to pushing a stray piece of hair behind your ear.
"That is not true." They combat but your shoulders only sink further.
"But it is, Okul. I was meant to die with my family. The scar on my back is proof of it." You shrug their hand off as you seal yourself away from them. They don't respond, simply stuck on watching you as you wallow in self pity. A tear slips down your cheek, that was enough to break them from the silence they created.
"Enough." Thumb coming to swipe at the tears you shed.
"You are worthy, Ma Y/n. Eywa was correct, she is never wrong." They softly grip your chin, demanding your gaze onto them. They stare into your glassy eyes that struggle to maintain eye contact, shifting to every little thing around.
"I-I was reckless." You break. You're words are vague, are you referring to Teylan or your past? No matter it was something Okul was going to put a stop too. Their slender arms wrap around your shoulders as they tug you into their chest. You face resting against their shoulder as you finally cry. They softly hum as they run their hand down your back, rocking you both back and forth slowly. Your breathing calms as you press into their body. Tears slowing to a stop, staining your cheeks. You yawn and shut your eyes, relishing in the feeling of physical comfort. All this time and no one has ever come this close. A simple touch from their wise hands is enough to soothe the ache in your heart. The pain has become all you've known.
"Thank you Okul…"
Their lips shh you gently as they comb through your hair.
"Sleep for now. I will be here when you wake."
They pull you down to lay on the cot. Hands drying your face and eyes warm as you fall asleep easily.
"You care for them so deeply." A deep rumbly voice shakes them apart from you. They gasp slipping out from the bed, hands clasped together like a child being scolded. When they look up they meet So'leks amused stare. A small quirk of his lips, only makes them feel more embarrassed.
"I try my best." They shyly mumble.
"You don't give yourself enough credit." He nods towards your peaceful frame.
"They need someone like you. Perhaps you can calm their stubborn mind." He teases as he sets a little pouch on the counter meant for you. Okul's ears perk up as they watch him set the pouch down. They so desperately want to know what it is. Will it help you? Hurt you? As if the older Na'vi can read minds he cuts through their thoughts.
"It is dried fruit."
Okul swallows their questions and turn away embarrassed, "right of-of course."
The Trrong warrior nears their spot, face suddenly serious and voice hushed.
"Take care of them." With that he rests a hand on their shoulder and gives gentle squeeze before leaving the room. Okul is left with wide eyes as they stare at you before a small finds its way on their lips. You are all theirs, if you'll have them of course.
