3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
I think regarding science and research, I'm most proud of Where the Sunlight Ends, simply because I've poured so much of my heart and soul into it. But I think writing-style wise I grew the most while writing a flame that still burns. I really feel like I stretched my muscles trying to emulate your style while staying true to my own, and I had so much fun with it <3
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
!! I actually really enjoyed writing Bobby Drake, and all of the ensemble cast for WTSE. His scenes were few and far between, but I really had a fun time channelling his voice when I could.
Outside of WTSE, it was Ragnar hands down. I LOVE Ragnar Ragnarsson with. almost my whole heart
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
OOO this was a good one - off the top of my head, I was very proud (and still am) of this one:
He yearns, desperately, to throw himself into Happy's arms again. To cling like a little kid, to let himself fall apart, to tell Happy that Dr. Strange was right, and he should have listened to both of them, because the adults were talking and he wasn't listening again, and he should have listened to Mr. Stark in the first place and should have never given Beck those glasses and he knows now, he knows how stupid it was, and please can you help me, Happy, help me, May is dead and I'm all alone, please help me I have no one, please tell me you recognize me, I just need one person Happy please—
But Happy doesn't. And Peter doesn't.
What Happy does say is, "how did you know her?"
Peter can't say that she bandaged his scraped knees when he fell down. He can't say that she cut his sandwiches into hexagons because it made him smile. He can't say she held him when he was sad, and comforted him when he cried, and made him really bad chicken noodle soup when he was sick. He can't say that she helped sew Ben's shirt-blanket together with him, or that she cleaned his suit for him in a way he still hasn't figured out how to, or that every time he came home with a bruise she'd kiss it and hold the same pack of peas to it every time. He can't say I know her because she raised me, and I love her so much.
So instead, through the clog in his throat, he says, "...through Spider-Man."
