Rat in a Hat's Comprehensive JoongDok Recommendations - Part One
...Always assume I'm lying about when I'll get these lists out. Here's one that's been done for a while.
I have a lot of JoongDok fics that are shorter, around 10K, or are unfinished/WIPs, so keep that in mind while you're looking through this.
In this list you will not see: KimYooHan, or Secretive Plotter/Kim Dokja. No A/B/O dynamics either, because those annoy me unless they're plot relevant and done well. You may see Kim Dokja/Certain rounds of Yoo Joonghyuk, but for the most part it'll be Joonghyuk of the third round, who travelled with Dokja from the beginning. There's a lot more no-scenario AUs, and quite a few soulmate fics (This rat's favorite ʕ•͡-•ʔ). I actually found surprisingly few Joongdok fics that were set during the scenarios.
For the most part, these will be third person point of view (because I can't stand first person, no disrespect to the ORV webnovel) and rated Teen And Up Audiences, but there may be a few Mature or otherwise rated. I'll mark them as such. As always, I'll link the fics in orange and the authors in blue, and do my best to find the authors' tumblr accounts for fanart and stuff. Enjoy!

ALSO - Childhood friends to presumed dead to dokja's bad memory to strangers to joonghyuk's emotional constipation to lovers!

Rat's Notes: The summary pretty much explains what it is, but oh my lord this fic was so cute. It's set in high school, no scenarios, and while it has KimCom as supporting cast, this fic is very JoongDok centric. There's obviously the tragic backstory, but it's a lot less angsty than it could be.

This series features JoongDok managing to adopt every child in KimCom. Bonus appearance from the much-forgotten Han Donghoon, yay! This series features a lot of sitcom-type shenanigans, and is just generally a fun domestic fluff time. Not everybody's cup of tea, and usually not mine, but these are really cute. I would suggest reading the works in order.

in an astonishing show of stupidity, kim dokja, a streamer, decides to seduce the final boss of the vr fantasy game three ways to survive in a fantasy world. spoiler alert: the final boss is not, in fact, an npc; he’s an actual streamer who has apparently been on the receiving end of kim dokja’s flirtations for months– also while streaming. what fun!
Rat's Notes: Dude, this one was hilarious. No Scenarios AU where KDJ and YJH are both streamers. The romance was romancing in here.

Rat's Notes: OKAY so I know this fic mostly focuses on a KDJ & SWK relationship, but the Kim Dokja/Yoo Joonghyuk tag is there so it counts. Also it's really cute.

Yoo Joonghyuk grumbles under his breath and pretends that the old shirt slapping wetly against the washing machine door was Kim Dokja’s face.
