A Force To Be Reckoned With

"You do know that the X-Men are not killers, right?" Ali eyes him, "I will check your team out, but I'm no murderer. Remember that." She notices he doesn't mention anything about the time issue, but doesn't press it any further. That's his business and the truth always comes out in time. "You would be the team's leader, then? Who else is involved and what role am I to play in this?" Alison was intrigued, but still a little leery this was some kind of trap. Not that she wasn't confident she could get herself out of it, if it were.

"So far our numbers are small only the mutant Domino is in our ranks." He was pleased that she had accepted his offer but in no way did he show it. "Yes I am well aware that the X-Men do not kill, which is their mistake for our enemies do not show the same compassion which is why they fight endless battles against them. With my plan, under my leadership we shall stop all threats at the source and doing it my way they won't be coming back."

Disintegration

Domino stood crouched over a large boulder, her back to Cable. She didn’t turn to meet Cable’s entrance, she merely motioned for him to get low to the ground with one gloved hand, a pair of binoculars held to her face in the other. “You certainly took your time.” Domino said slowly, trying to keep her voice quiet. “I’ve already had a good look around, it looks like a pretty well guarded facility, but nothing we can’t handle. From what I gathered from my sources, the guard will be changing soon.”

"I ran into a few snags, they have been dealt with." Cable said pronning down beside her surveying the base with his own pair of binoculars. "Lets go over the mission plan once again, we've been hired by some unsavory characters to steal something from another bunch of unsavory characters. Our objective is to steal the fiber ionic fibrillator which should be deep inside the base. Any questions so far?"

Jean debated for a moment whether to say it was Scott whom she was thinking of in regards to the comparison or not. As she did so the thought came to mind that perhaps he was related to Scott. They had just been discussing relatives and to hear and realize that indeed they had a common goal, there must have been far more to this than met the eye. She winced as another thought came to her. If indeed he had been related to Scott, was there a chance that he- No. It was impossible. Long ago she had only dreamed that-… and yet… Not even realizing it, Jean’s expression had turned into one of attentiveness into one that seemed slightly distant. « Yeah. I would imagine you would. Moira’s a good friend of mine and of the team… »

His mind could not keep his thoughts off Jean as much as he tried, this was a new feeling to him. Something brought them together it was like a puzzle that had to be solved, a link to his shady past. « Do not worry she was not harmed. She was very helpful, if not for her I wouldn't be talking to you in English right now, I learned the language from her mind. »

“Very well then.” He growled out quietly as he looked at Cable. Scott was definitely an intimidating man when he had to be. Though to be intimidating to a man larger then himself was harder, he’d done it with others before. “Make the team… I want you to give me updates as frequently as necessary. I don’t want anything hidden from my view. Coded transmissions, whatever it takes. Do you understand?”

Scott knew that this group was needed. Someone needed to get out there and deal with the threats that he wasn’t able to take care of himself being in the lime light of the press. While he didn’t trust Cable as far as he could throw him, he knew that he had to allow this to happen one way or another. It was better to have his hand in the matter then to be completely blind of it, that much he was thankful for with Cable coming to him first.

Cable's eye blurted out yellow energy in frustration, Cyclops was a hard man to get along with if you didn't agree with him. However the frustrations quickly passed as he calmed himself, it was a known fact you couldn't talk Scott out of any of his decisions, it was a quality Cable admired. "I agree to your terms, I shall update you on our progress when needed. It was my intention to keep you in the loop, hence why I came to you." "I won't take up anymore of your time, we both have work to do and time is always the enemy." He wasn't the kind of man to say goodbye so he didn't, instead he gave him a lazy salute and turned to walk away. He had found a new found respect for the man who carried the weight of the mutant race on his shoulders. Once he was out of sight he called Professor for a body-slide home to Graymalkin, then he was gone.

"How can I make a real decision about you and your group if I know next to nothing about you?" Ali gets the feeling that Cable is being genuine, but you can't trust someone on feeling alone. "You say Xavier's dream will never be more than that, like you know for certain. Oh no, is this one of those tome travel things?" she sighs, "I've seen his dream in action and we do a lot of good. However, if this team of yours doesn't compromise my status as an X-Man, then I don't see any harm in checking it out. But first I want a little more information."

"Like most things in life you won't know it until you try it. But I warn you my team isn't for the faint in heart, if you join me, you will be hunted by friends a foe alike. So if you aren't prepared to get your hands bloody don't come." This wasn't a pitch, no this was more of a process of elimination to see who would be more fit for the team. He had come to Ali because he needed some heavy fire power, which he considered useful for the team. "In my experience dreams never come true, trust me I know." He said avoiding the mention of time travel, no one could know his secret, he feared if someone knew it could damage time and space.

Disintegration

Cable had traveled to the rendezvous point set up by both he and Domino alone. The spot was a dusty hill top in the middle of the desert, with a perfect vantage point to scope out the enemy base. Once he had got up the hill he was surprised to see Domino there before him, this pleased him greatly. "Waiting long? Eager for a gun fight I see."

"You come in peace?" Ali asks incredulously, "Really? That ranks right up there with 'I mean you no harm' for cheap clichés." She listens to his X-Force sales pitch, and thinks for a moment. Alison gives him a little side eye, "You know backhanded compliments are a great way to recruit people! You're a powerful mutant, blah, blah, blah, join my team of outcasts. What makes you think I'm an outcast? Also, you expect me to join a group I know nothing about?" She sits on the couch, still cautious of Cable, "And, if you know as much about me as you say you do, you'd know I was a reluctant member at best for quite a while. I suggest you work on your pitch if you're going to be trying to get new members. Just a friendly word of advice. You can work on that with me because I'm still not sure who and your group are."

"The less you know about me the better it is for the both of us." Cable knew this wasn't going to be easy, but he liked the challenge. "I get it you're very independent and strong minded, but that is just what the teams needs. A soldier is useless without their wits and street smarts, something you have in excess. My goal for X-Force is to form a strike force that will stop those who wish to destroy us at the source, before they strike. Xaiver's dream is nice, but it will never become more than that, a dream."

Domino saves Cable from Deadpool.

Scott crossed his arms over his chest as he looked up at Cable, sizing him up a little with a stern face. “…You’re right. I don’t trust you… I’m also a man that is a firm believer in seeing is believing…” He narrowed his eyes a little as he watched Cable quietly. “And So I’ll be keeping a close eye on your work, that you can count on. Once I see that you’re doing what needs to be done… and keeping to these promises you’re making… then I’ll trust you.” 

Trust came hard to any of the X-Men, this was common knowledge, but it came especially hard for a man like Scott who’d been on the receiving end of one to many lies and back stabs. It was hard to believe how similar the two men facing each other down where… And yet? Neither of them were truly realizing why.

He noticed the uncanny similarities between the two of them and understood Scott's motivation and skepticism, but he was confident that his actions will soon prove his worth. He had a strange new feeling to prove himself to this man, he couldn't explain it so he blamed it on the admiration he had for him. "I am prepared to do everything that is needed to ensure the survival and protection of the Mutant race, and preparation is half the fight. We will always have a target on our backs and be hated just for existing, which is why we need to return the same treatment and target those who target us and shoot first."

Sleepless

Alison jumps up, startled by the unfamiliar voice, ready to defend herself. "What do you want? How did you get in here?" She was wondering why the alarm system didn't go off. His demeanor didn't necessarily seem malicious, but that meant nothing. "Cable, is it? If you don't start explaining yourself, you'll be calling me the woman that kicked your ass out of here."

"Although I am very much sure you could kick my ass it won't be necessary, I come in peace." He said blurting a slight hum of a laugh at his ancient reference. "You have served as a member of the X-Men for many years, you are both talented and powerful ranking as an omega level mutant. I come to give you an alternative to Xaiver's dream, I'm forming a group of outcasts, we're called X-Force, you want in?"

« Glad that I haven’t proven myself to be a disappointment. If I had, that would have been a disappointment to me, » she responded back studying him some more. Pushing back some hair and tucking a strand behind her ears, she nodded, and stated, « Yeah. A teammate. There’s something about your personality, even your looks, that remind me of him. Perhaps you already know him. Who else do you know or know about from the team? »

« It's been very strange talking to you but I can't say you're a disappointment in anyway, and believe me I'm the kind bastard who'd tell you. » She was anything but a disappointment, to him she felt like a missing fragment of his sketchy past. Although he had no evidence to support it he had a strong feeling in his gut that it was more than that, something that was very much out of character for him. « I've done my homework, I know a lot about the X-Men. Before I got here I scanned the mind of Moira MacTaggert lets just say she knew all there is to know. My next visit will be to Scott Summers aka Cyclops, he and I share a common goal and will do everything in our power to achieve it. »

Sleepless

Ali wandered around the mansion like a zombie. She was having trouble sleeping, and when she did, it was far from restful sleep. With circles under her eyes, she made her way to the living room and plopped down on the couch. Fumbling with the remote, Ali turned on the tv and found reruns of the Golden Girls. Sighing, she threw her arm over her face, listening to Rose being admonished by Dorothy for some reason or another. It was just background noise, she couldn’t stop thinking about work. She needed a single, a record, and hopefully a big tour would follow. Letting out another sigh, she moves her arm from across her face and turns to watch the tv.

Nathan sneaks into the Mansion, quickly disabling the defense mechanism, which he realized they were pretty high tech for this time, but still not up to par with what he's used to. Breaking in with ease, his intend was passive but would be perceived hostile so he would have to act fast. His goal was simply to talk, advertise his course, his mission, X-Force. The other goal was to get a feel for what it was like to be an X-Man. He noticed a light on then the blur of a tv up stairs, he went up to investigate. It was Alison Blaire, a name familiar to his research, an omega level mutant capable of many things, perfect. "Hello Dazzler." He said coming out of the shadows. "Or do you prefer Alison? You can call me Cable."

“You practically take the words out of my mouth…” He grumbled out with a frown, his eyes silently inspecting the much larger man in front of him. “I don’t care that the children fight. I believe that every able bodied mutant should put for the effort to protect their own. No idle hands. But at the same time, I don’t want people getting hurt if they don’t have to…” He took a deep breath as he watched Cable. 

“I know that even if I said no, you’d do it anyway. That seems the type of man you are. So I give you my blessing… for whatever that’s worth…” He growled quietly. He didn’t trust Cable in the slightest though he knew that all he could do was keep an eye on him and what he was up to.

"Thanks." The word escaped his mouth, it was something he was not used to saying, perhaps he was developing manners in his old age or this timeline was getting to him. Deep down he knew he respected the man, he very much reminded him of himself. They were both good men that were prepared to do bad things for the right reasons, something most people were afraid to do. "You're right, I would have done it despite your command, this is just a courtesy call I'm afraid. If we're going to survive we'll need all hands on deck, you said it yourself. Look I know you have no reason to trust me, nor should you but you can count on the fact that no one will be hurt on my watch, that's a promise."

Applying them in life is easier said than done. There’s no advantage to being in a classroom where everyone wants to run from you.

Should they be afraid of you? You don't scare me. Your past happened no matter if you are proud of it or not, it's yours. If people fear you, it just means they know what you are not who you are.
