Sad that running away to sea isnโt really a career choice anymore
man I wish it was 1731 so I could slip out of my window one humid summer night and find my way down to the grimy docks, where I stow away in a barrel of hardtack and survive off of it until the ship is too far away from land to make port, and when the crew discovers me they haul me up on deck to make me walk the plank, but at the last moment the grizzled old captain stops them and after glaring at me for a few minutes turns around to head back to the prow and says โaye lads, why waste a pair of hands on deck. Itโs bad luck to throw a body overboard who ainโt raised a cutlass against us, and we just lost our old cabin boy to the scurvy. This deck needs swabbinโ and I wonโt be doinโ it, by my ugly aunt Tildaโs gold tooth.โ The crew doesnโt trust me at first, and I get knocked about quite a bit as I learn the ropes, but over time I prove myself and when the captain and his ragged crew of privateers realize Iโm secretly a girl they donโt care because theyโve already taken to me, just as Iโve taken to the sea, and the captain takes me under his wing and heโs not so bad after all and he teaches me everything his father taught him, and we undermine the efforts of the British East India Company and become so notorious that the admiral of the queenโs navy froths at the mouth at even the mention of our shipโs name and also I have a cool tricorn hat and say โyaargโ and know what โgrogโ is :D
Finally, someone who gets it
