How did you get good at drawing characters interacting? I have trouble making it look organic... everything always look too stiff. I love your narusasu art btw hehe..

omgggg 😭😭 im very self conscious when it comes to make characters interact and look like they belong to the same piece. i actually had a long conversation with a friend about how i wanna improve this aspect in my art, so its crazy that you mention it 😭

tbh, even if im trying to get better at it, i dont think ive ever been particularly bad at it, so its only now that im actually paying attention to it and trying to make it more noticeable.

in my case, i think what helps me a lot is the fact that im a nsfw artist, lol. so i’m kinda forced to practice this aspect quite a lot. in this field, it’s important to convey the passion of the characters and the desire they have for the other, so things like the position of the hands and eye contact are very important. (not saying i can do that, tho. just saying its important to have it in mind lmao)

this thing of distorting the object that hands are holding so the depth reads more clearly, or emphasizing the tendons in the hands to show more strength or relaxation, are things i pay a lot of attention to when i draw.

so, about how i learned to do that—honestly, just by studying other artists. when i come across someone whose work really grabs me, i try to recreate what they did in my own way, and that’s how i learn.

of course, i still have a long way to go. but i’m really glad it’s noticeable even now! thank you so much 💞

when you started or first learned how to draw did you start off with anatomy and building blocks or was it more of figuring out ur style? And do you have any tips for someone starting to learn how to draw? thank you

uhmmmmmmmmm good question,,, i never liked building blocks tbh. i learned that method when i already had a good idea of the proportions so i never really got used to it. im sure it works perfectly, but its just not for me.

tbh, in the beginning i would copy other artists’ bodies/poses and use them as templates to add other characters features on top (i was less than 6 ok???). that’s how i learned how the muscles in general worked. in time, i was able to place the different body parts in a way that would create a semi-believable human body just using my imagination.

when i bought my first drawing tablet (14 yo), i tried to trace other drawings to make things faster but for some reason it never worked. the lines would be too ugly and i’d get frustrated because it didn’t look like the og sOoO i gave up on that and i started actually learning anatomy. like—from actual academic books and youtube tutorials.

once i mastered basic anatomy i had more freedom to learn other things like coloring, clothing, blablabla and yea! now im here! idk if that answers your question. you can clearly see i still have a long way to go, but im getting there 😌✨

and about tips for new artists—watch a bunch of tutorials man,, just absorb all the info you can get from your favorite artists and try to replicate what they do. copying my fav artists was key for me and i guess it can be useful in the beginning. ofc, try to then find your own style lol but youll have time to figure that out later 😌

anyways, i love showing how i do stuff so if you have any specific thing you want me to explain, pls tell me and ill make a lil tutorial on that ✨
