Hello, friends! Issue #36, our unthemed, final issue is out for your reading pleasure! Head over to Issuu to read it and Drive to print your own.

If you’ve been following along beyond our tumblr, you’ll know this post is way overdue. (If you haven’t been, sorry to keep you waiting!) This issue came out in early December and, like many of our recent posts here, we haven’t had time to let you all know. That’s one reason we’re wrapping things up at The Moon Zine.

FINAL ISSUE: NOW ACCEPTING AUDIO TOO!

Hi! We decided we’re accepting audio submissions for our final issue, much like we did for our Music issue back in June 2017. We would love to hear your music, sounds, noises, and words.

The rules are the same as they were for our Music issue:

We’re accepting audio works of any kind: music, sounds, noises, words, jokes, whatever.

We prefer lossless files (.aiff, .wav or .flac) for Bandcamp. If you only have an MP3, we’ll convert it, but we really prefer lossless files. Here’s some more info at Bandcamp.

Copyright is, of course, still yours. You own your work, we’re sharing it with your permission.

This Bandcamp album will be a pay-what-you-want thing. People can pay nothing or something. If they choose to pay something, we’ll put it all toward the zine costs. Or, since we’re wrapping up The Moon Zine, we will donate it to a St. Louis nonprofit.

It’s almost Halloween and Issue #35: SPOOKY III is out! (It has been since October 1st and I’ve been trying to post this to Tumblr for a long time but we’re busy and we’re sorry! Thanks for being patent!) Read it on Issuu. Download and print your own from Drive.

A quick reminder that out last issue comes out in December. If you want to submit some work, we’d love to see it! There’s no theme. Submissions are due November 10.

Goodbye!

After three full years, The Moon Zine has decided to release our final issue.

Instead of the Pop Culture issue, we will be collecting unthemed submissions for our Goodbye issue. The submission deadline for those is November 10th.

Stay tuned for a farewell collage party and get together in December! 

Thank you to everyone who has submitted, collaged, danced at our shows, or just picked up our zine. If you've collected any issues, hold on to them, or pass them on to any budding zinester you know, as the Moon Zine is one of a kind.

Call for submissions: POP CULTURE

The Moon Zine’s next theme is POP CULTURE. Pop music, movies, commercial, trends, art, internet videos, memes, video games, slang—”a set of the practices, beliefs, and objects that are dominant or ubiquitous in a society at a given point in time,” according to Wikipedia. Got art about this stuff or something similar? Send it in. We’d love to see it and share it.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: SPOOKY III

The Moon Zine is gearing up early for our favorite time of year: Halloween! We’re bringing back spooky as a theme for a third year in a row, so if you have art about things scary or eerie, art about horror movies, ghost stories, or curses, art about that bump-in-the-night stuff, we would love to see it and share it. (Extra credit if your spooky art is also somehow about the number 3 or sequels or trilogies or even roman numerals.)

The deadline is Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Check out our submission guidelines for more info on that how to submit work.

The Moon Zine is tackling FASHION for our next issue! Send us your art about: pants, hats, sandals, clothing as a general topic, style, the history of an article of clothing, photos of shirts you got food on, where to buy clothes, how to make your own clothing, and I don’t know what else, but please send it over. We’d love to take a look and share it with our readers.
