And he's done!
A current Sousa wip. Accidentally made his eye look bruised so I'm gonna run with it. Hopefully I remember to post the final picture 😅
ohmygod gang. I just figured out how to create a fake click-to-remove ad in an ao3 fic
am I about to be a menace to some poor fandom? I have an idea for a fic written in tabloid form...
Wait op can this power be learned?
In the basic form, you can actually do it directly in the fic itself without even needing to use a workskin. You just need to use two html tags: details and summary.
<details open> <summary> text you want the button to have </summary> <img src="linktotheimageofthead.jpg"> </details>
Specifying that the details section is open makes it so that the "ad" is visible when the page loads. The reader then click/taps on the triangle button next to the text to close it.
I also put everything inside a center tag so they'd be in the middle of the page.
The way that I made the button look different was through CSS code in a workskin - but I'll share that once I've done some other funky things lol
Not as happy with this Daniel Sousa portrait but I'm sharing it anyways
Muriel portrait
I have a new way to draw noses in side view and I love it
Have some more Unicorn Muriel art! Eventually I will out my thoughts surrounding this au onto paper I swear
Muriel as a unicorn. I'm already thinking of developing an au..
Have a handful of my Daniel Sousa drawings that I need to finish (that spread is nearly done, just need the motivation for it)
Hello sewers and tailors! I need some assistance in figuring out what frigging stitch this is.
See, I got a vintage wool coat for free (it was going to be cut up for the fabric but I have rescued it lol), and it has some places where the threads popped and require repairs. Now, most of them are an easy ladderstitch fix, however, that picture above? That's the bottom hem of the body of the coat. And, naturally, it's broken.
I'm a fairly good sewer, but I don't know what stitch it is, or how to replicate it. It's not visible from the outside. I'd like to keep it as close as possible to the og stitch, since it is intentionally loose. However, if someone has a simpler alternative, that would also be appreciated!
I have a few ideas.
This could be a zigzag stitch that has the tension purposefully to loose or too tight on one side and that causes the thread on the other side to come through both sides of the fabric (1).
It could also be a handstitch called the blind catchstitch (2), although the threads in the picture don't quite look like it. I think you have 2 threads not one.
Oh, thank you! I didn't even think about zigzag, it didn't seem like a stitch a machine could do!

So I'm writing again.
disclaimer: I am east asian. if anyone who is not white sees anything wrong with my phrasing, inaccuracies, or insensitivity, or something I missed, please feel free to add on. I’m just one person with one perspective; none of what I say should be taken as The Singular way to draw an Asian character. if you havent done so already, please take the effort to expand your view of Asian culture outside this one tutorial.
if a white person reblogs this and adds something stupid I’m going to bite and kick you like a wild animal
I LOVE this post and wanted to add some additional info, cause I see a lot of people who assume that drawing asian hair is the same as drawing white hair. This is not the case! There’s more to it than just the color.
Image description for the original post and my addition are underneath the read more at the end.
Thank you for reading! Once again, image description for my images and OP’s images are under the cut.
Just like OP, I’m only one single person, so if anyone wants to correct me or add something I missed, then go for it. And further disclaimer, there are exceptions to everything I’ve said in this post, and it only applies to East and Southeast asian people who are either not mixed or white-mixed, as those are the hair types I’m most familiar with.
Edit: AUGH I FORGOT TO mention this but @ everyone in the comments talking about blue eyes on biracial asians, here’s another guide I made that goes over color inheritance for biracial people: https://6480n.tumblr.com/post/633074808569069568/making-this-guide-because-i-see-this-question-time
