David Harks - “Open Arms”
Brighton UK based David Harks are back, as promised, with their third of four singles this summer. “Open Arms" reaches into the realms of Balearic where sermon samples from a 10 year-old Cayman Islands based Preacher wrap delicate steel drum melodies and run in creative contrast to David Harks’ strong lyrical message.
It would seem that there’s an endless supply of soul pop singers out of the UK these days, but what David Hark gives us stands out from the pool of artists with its unique sound that blends modern production with some very retro sound. Illusion is the second, and in my opinion, the best so far, of four singles he’s releasing this summer. Both soothing and peppy, the soul pop track has a surprising and welcome dose of 60’s psychedelia. Revisit far synthier first single We below.

David Harks - “We”
The first of 4 new singles from Brighton, UK’s David Harks following their recognition on Maison Kitsuné Maison’s bi-annual compilation album last october. Each features writer/frontman David Sanderson’s sincere vocal signature beside a meticulous array of familiar production elements. The multi-instrumentalist combines nostalgic sonic textures and modern synthscapes with his passion for personally reflective storytelling.

Seasick Mama - "Man Overboard"
Rhode Island singer Seasick Mama will be releasing her sophomore EP, Tip Top Shape, on November 5. The new project features production from TV on the Radio's David Sitek, Peter Wade (MNDR), Phantom Planet’s Sam Farrar, Mark Turrigiano (Lissy Trullie), and Joel Shearer (Pedestrian). To accompany the single release, Seasick Mama shot a music video with award winning director Jay Bulger (director of Ginger Baker’s documentary, Beware of Mr. Baker). Watch after the jump.

Electronic producer Shook delivers a wonderful groove in his remix of NY pop duo Ghost Beach’s single “Been There Before” taken from their self-titled album.
Ghost Beach are partnering with The Most Definitely to release a Remix EP with production from Penguin Prison, Chad Valley, Gigamesh, Summer Heart and Shook. The EP will be released in its entirety mid-March
