Hello dears! ;;;}
oi. look at this thing *yeets @devils-of-stardust at you*
Oh. Hello there, my dearest little one! :::}
What— What are you?
An old friend, you could say. How have you been, Jon?
I’m not—I don’t know you—
Oh, but you do. Can't you remember, dear? Oh well. No use. You know the park you've been putting off visiting? You should go sometime.
Why…?
I think you'll find something there that'll help!
I still don’t know why I should listen to you.
Oh, you don't have to! It'll just be better for you if you do. Don't worry, you still have the choice whether to go or not.
You’re… weird.
I would say "I know" but then I'd just be stealing lines.
From what? What are you even talking about?
Oh, Jonathan, there's so much you still don't know. Well, talk to you soon. I think anything more would spoil the surprise!
What surprise? I don’t— what?
[ A shit ton of spiders proceed to scuttle past Jonathan, away to somewhere else ]

Ooh, now here's an interesting one!
@themotherofpuppets
Hello, I have a package to drop off. Hope you ordered something.
Ordered something? No, no darling, I'm only here to check up on you!
Where are you coming from? I can't see anyone. Are you talking from a floor up maybe?
Whatever interpretation you prefer. In the end it doesn't matter.
What does matter to you then? I need to get this package to someone. They always know if I don't.
Oh, that's terrible, isn't it? Not being in control? You poor thing.
I'll just have to find a way to get control back. Somehow. There's always a way.
[He wasn't even that opposed to the job, beyond the punishments if he messed up. He just didn't like knowing he couldn't choose to stop]
Oh, but there is! Have you heard of Chetham’s Library? I think it would do you well to pay it a visit. They have some great stuff
I suppose I don't mind paying libraries a visit. What sort of things have you found there?
That's rather institution based. But I know you'll find just what you need.
Well it's difficult to plan if I don't have all the information first.
Oh, come on, where's your adventuring spirit? Trust your gut! If nothing else you'll just have a nice little look around the library.
Of course, that's why I'm going to go, but it's a bit different when someone else is directing me there.
[because he wasn't the one in control]
Because what if, for example, it's a trap? Many things could go wrong.
A library? A trap? Doesn't that sound a little ridiculous, even to you? Well, do what you want, it's not important to me what happens to you.
Yes, I'll go. Can't hurt too much. I've been trying to refrain from asking, common politeness when you wander like I do, but who are you?
Oh, honestly, you lot have given me many names! But I'd best be off now. See you, 'wanderer'.
Ooh, now here's an interesting one!

Oh, hello there little one. How's business?
[Ben was in the rafters of the theater, adjusting some lights. He looked around for the seemingly nonexistent thing that was speaking to him]
It’s. . . good? Um. . . who exactly am I speaking to?
A friend! I've been helping you grow out of your little cocoon- thought I'd come down and see the progress myself.
[He slides down from the rafters on a cable, now dangling above the theater, still trying to find this “friend”]
A friend? Well I’m not exactly sure what “help” I’ve been seeing. You might have the wrong Ben.
Oh, no, I'd never make a mistake like that. You are Ben Maxx and I am something most would be lucky to even be aided by. And here you are! My friend.
[The realization dawns on him. He chuckles to himself for not realizing it earlier]
You’re a Fear. I should have known. Which one are you then? Because I’ve already dealt with the Lonely long enough this week and I won’t be going back!
[ ECHO ] Gueessss :::}
[He pulls himself back up into the rafters. He’s not letting this thing catch him without his feet on solid ground]
You’re messing with me, but your intentions are too clear to be the Spiral. You claim that we’re friends. That rules out the Lonely. You mentioned cocoons. Cocoons are for moths. But you’re not a moth. You watch them. Keep your eyes on them waiting for the moment they’ve grown enough to swallow them whole.
You’re the Web.
And that's why you're my friend! Yes, well figured, my little pawn. You're nearly ready!
Ready for what, exactly? I’ve got a play coming up I’m rather busy. . .
[He had started for the ladder to the ground. Would it follow him out of here?]
That would be telling. Trust me, you're going to love it.
Why me?
[He was on the ground now, looking hopelessly for the Web while knowing full well it wasn’t there]
I’m an interesting guy, sure, but I’m not Web material!
Oh, isn't that cute? Because I want to. It's not even that bad, with us. Don't worry.
[Ben considers this for a moment. The Web. He’d read plenty about it. Deceit, control, manipulation. One of the hardest of the Fears to escape because by the time you’ve noticed it you’re already in too deep. Would he be able to escape? Was this just chance or did it know what he’d been planning? Trying to trick avatars, the lying and making people believe he had powers he did not. What could he make them believe with the aid of the Web?]
A-alright then. I suppose I have no choice but that doesn’t mean I won’t be asking for something in return. I’m writing a play, you see. An important one. One about the Fears. And I need help with it. I’ve got the effects and the parlor tricks, but they need to be believable. Trick the audience into really believing these things.
Oh, my dearest puppet. You doll. I'm already doing that. Hmm. That'll be why you're not a Watcher, the ghastly things. And who says I'm obligated to help? With so little a bargain at that. You've barely given me anything! Go on with your play, I have a much more suitable price in mind than the tricks you've been pulling up until now.
And I suppose I won’t be permitted to know it?
It won't make a difference. And do you really want that knowledge hanging over your head? It would ruin the quality of your work.
I. . . I suppose not.
I mustn't linger too long. Good luck, my little puppet.
Ooh, now here's an interesting one!
