Lovingly, I don’t think you understand how ao3 and fanfiction are different from a lot of other fandom engagement. The people who post their fics on ao3 do so for an audience of PEERS, not you guys.

The users on ao3 were very, very likely Not hoping to have their usernames read out or receiving shoutouts For Writing Fic. I appreciate that you appreciate all your fans whatever the heck we get up to, but this engagement with fic also shows the limit of your understanding of the wider phandom. We have many instances of fic writers being harassed and even doxxed by other fans who come from different traditions and who think fic is immoral or bad in some other way. Even if you only express appreciation of fic, I am still apprehensive of how the majority of patreon subscribers will treat fic writers, especially the ones you draw attention to.
