my angel… flung out of space.
Now the fact that you’ll turn into an animal if you fail to fall in love with someone during your stay here is not something that should upset you, or get you down. Just think, as an animal you’ll have a second chance to find a companion. But even then, you must be careful; you need to choose a companion that is a similar type of animal to you. A wolf and a penguin could never live together. Nor could a camel and a hippopotamus. That would be absurd. Think about it.

I ain’t afraid to die anymore. I’d done it already.
I’m sorry. What am I thinking? I’m thinking that I am utterly selfish. I should have said no to you. But I never say no. And it’s selfish because I take everything. Because I don’t know anything. I don’t know what I want. How could I if I just say yes to everything?

Dearest, there are no accidents and he would have found us one way or another. Everything comes full circle. Be grateful it was sooner rather than later. You’ll think it harsh of me to say so, but no explanation I offer will satisfy you. Please don’t be angry when I tell you that you seek resolutions and explanations because you’re young. But you will understand this one day. And when it happens, I want you to imagine me there to greet you like the morning sky, our lives stretched out ahead of us, a perpetual sunrise. But until then, there must be no contact between us. I have much to do, and you, my darling, even more. Please believe that I would do anything to see you happy and so I do the only thing I can: I release you.

“The language of film is further and further away from the language of theater and is closer to music. It’s abstract but still narrative. Everything feels less rehearsed. It’s more experimental than classical.” - Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki
We explore how the cinematography of Emmanuel Lubezki is shaping the landscape of modern film.
