Hera is the goddess of women, marriage, family, and childbirth in Ancient Greek religion and myth, one of the Twelve Olympians and the sister-wife of Zeus. Hera rules over Mount Olympus as queen of the gods. One of Hera’s defining characteristics is her jealous and vengeful nature against Zeus’ numerous lovers and illegitimate offspring, as well as the mortals who cross her.
I sing of golden-throned Hera whom Rhea bare. Queen of the Immortals is she, surpassing all in beauty: the glorious one
Devotional Activities: Hera
Peacocks: Buy jewelry with them, images, note books, statues, anything.
Lotus: Perfume or body wash or just have the flower on your alter
Teal: Burn teal candles. Wear a teal shirt or dress. Wear teal makeup
Give thanks: Thank your mom for having you. Thank your stepmom for stepping up. Thank Hera herself. Just be thankful for good mothers in the world
Mommy day: For the mother’s out there take a break. Sip some tea. Hide in the bathroom for a few minutes. Take a nap. Just give yourself a well deserved break
Diadem: Place one on your alter. Wear one in her name. Tattoo one on if you want.
Hera’s Compassion. Finally finished.
Gouache painting, 9″x12″ on illustration board.
The story is that Zeus saw the young goddess Hera and fell in love with her. To win her, he changed himself into a distressed cuckoo and flew into her arms. She cradled the bird until she found herself holding Zeus the god, and they were married. One of her main symbols is the peacock, due to her bodyguard whose entire body was covered in eyes, whom she then put on a bird to honor him.
I’m just so ready to be a mom and take baths with my baby and listen to their tiny hands splash the water and hug them close to my body and whisper to them how their existence has filled me with so much love.
This is Zeus. He is a blind owl but still amazes people with his galaxy eyes. Zeus was rescued after he was found on the doorstep of someones house, it was thought that he flew into the house and injured himself because he couldn’t see where he was going. His home is in the Wildlife Learning Center. (Source)
Something tells me this a magical owl that can grant wishes.
I Hear You
In the storm’s howling winds, In the rolling thunders, In the falling raindrops, I hear you.
Once I feared the sounds of the storm, But now I hear you.
And I am forever grateful for that.
I just had a thought. Like how weird is it that we can interact with the gods? I’m just sitting here thinking about how cool that is. Me coming up to beings like Loki and Hermes and Bastet and bringing little gifts to share. I’m trying to understand what that looks like to them, even though I can’t. I’m just seeing the tiny child of another species coming up to me with like their people’s equivalent of half a bar of chocolate and a soda pop and saying “Hi my name is X, I really like what I’ve heard about you. I brought some snacks to share. Can we be friends?” That’s so amazing and heartwarming.
I keep hearing it equated to a little child bringing their doodles to their parents, and then the parent sticks it proudly on the fridge, then tells all their friends “Look what my kid drew for me isn’t it precious?!”
@elreki that’s actually funny because I colored a coloring book page for Hermes and put it on the altar for Him a few months back 😂😂😂
I like to share my writing with Loki and I just get that same feeling too! <3
The Catatumbo Lightning is an atmospheric phenomenon in Venezuela. For ten hours a night, up to 160 nights per year, lightening lights up the entire sky.

These came from this source, I do not claim any of this as my own research. :) I just think its useful. There are more epithets through the link but these are the general ones.
Then wise Zeus was glad and made them both friends. And Hermes loved the son of Leto continually, even as he does now, when he had given the lyre as token to the Far-shooter, who played it skilfully, holding it upon his arm. But for himself Hermes found out another cunning art and made himself the pipes whose sound is heard afar.
Homeric Hymns 4, [503], translated by H.G. Evelyn-White
So basically what I’m gathering here is that Hermes and Apollo are bros, and they have jam sessions.
