The burnt down residence was merely a temporary sanctuary far away from everything else, the only building still standing being the isolated workshop that consisted of a square room sitting atop a knoll overlooking a revived garden of spider lilies.
The marquis turned around with a big smile, pausing a moment as he realised the imposing presence wasn’t exactly the one he was expecting but he reacted no differently.

Why do you hate humanity so much...?
