When your crusty brother shows up on your mother’s deathbed 20 years after he inexplicably disappeared and forced you to step up for your struggling family when you were still just a child
Do you think, that should've given more characters from the main cast time to shine? I really like your show and like all of the characters, but sometimes some of them feel left out. But maybe that's just me, who knows
Yeah I'd agree with that, it's just a lot bigger of an undertaking than I'm sure a lot of people realize when you're the only writer and juggling so many different departments at once. It would have required more episodes, time, and stamina. Something I wasn't exactly graced with, being only Glitch's second creator driven show. I would have needed more writers and co-directors, because writing and directing even just 9 episodes basically killed me.
It's also a miracle I was allowed to make episode 9 as long as it was, because one thing a producer never ever wants to hear is "I'd like to make this longer." There will always be an incentive to cut things down over fleshing things out. Thankfully if I do another one of these, a lot of the kinks will hopefully be worked out from the beginning. Hopefully.
I never have any clue what I'm doing with coloring, I think.
More adult Finny clean shaven baby-faced. Simp for any version though, ngl. The hottest dude in Ooo indeed.

when ppl do genderbends no one bats an eye but then when you say you think a character is trans suddenly everybody becomes the pronoun police and tells you it's actually transphobic to give them the pronouns you think fit their gender. or some shit like that.
I think a big reason that I'm so conflicted about the last act days later is that I think, as good as it is, the ambiguity present (at least for me) within Jax's ultimate fate is ultimately a hindrance to me when trying to understand/enjoy it, while compared to something like I Saw The TV Glow, it is a benefit.
Like, tv glow is built around that ambiguity, that feeling that you as an audience are an active participant in how hopeful the narrative is. There was something incredibly liberating about a movie that seemed to implicitly allow a viewer to have hope in the face of a seemingly unbeatable situation.
With Last Act, I'm torn between being too hopeful or too depressed. It's unclear to me after watching whether or not the text truly supports having hope for Jax going forward or if it's just a product of my own cope. My brother seemed to think so immediately afterwards and he's usually very smart and also not even a huge fan in the first place, so I thought that was that. But now looking at fan conversation, it feels much less clear. Furthermore, I'm plagued by whether or not it matters at all and if I am just making this way more of a big deal than it needs to be.
Furthermore, at the risk of putting too much of myself out there, the movie really struck a chord with my own experiences, particularly the years before I realized I was trans. To be perfectly honest, I was and still am very emotionally invested in the idea that even a younger me who went off the deep end and got worse, could still make it in the end, even it was awkward and difficult. I guess it has a lot to do with feeling like even the current me who made the right choices (at least I think) is still not feeling so hot these days to say the least lol.
For this reason, yeah I do have quite a lot of emotions tied up in my more logical confusion and that leaves me wondering if maybe it's all emotion and no reason. Like how much hope can I have or imagination I can engage with before it starts to feel hollow? Is that a rational impulse to have? Idk blurgh.
I guess I wonder if anyone is feeling similarly. Overall the finale was really good! Aside from this admittedly pretty large conundrum, I found it immensely satisfying from a thematic perspective and it wrapped up all the themes nicely!
me and my army of six to seven trans and gay furries on our way to defend the digital circus finale (we're the only ones who seemingly had enough media literacy skills left to understand what it was saying)
oh my dear, dear fellow digital circus fans......
