“I want to be able to do it all. Even though I know it’s more likely I’ll succeed at none of it. It’s dumb. Hell no. That’s not dumb. If that’s what you want, go after it. People who care about you will understand. And if they don’t, they’re not your people.”

I gotta tell you something. The other night at the Eastwood game, I was...struggling. And then, I heard someone singing. Elton John. I followed your voice through the tunnels. I saw you in the green room. Saying it out loud, I realize that sounds creepy, but...you were so, like, genuine, you know? Free. You centered me.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, written and directed by women, basically portrays marriage as a life-or-death curse, with an absolutely suffocating atmosphere from the very beginning. If women aren’t stuck in dysfunctional marriages, then they’re dealing with a terminal illness and dying on their wedding day or they’re Rachel, having anxiety attacks from the moment it becomes real that she’s getting married that weekend. Marriage and the expectations surrounding it, from a female perspective, as psychological horror. Dear God, it’s pure female gaze ecstasy. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this series.
That's what we're here for.
I can't with these two 💙

There was so much happening in this episode, but Dana, telling Robby he's human, feels like a statement on what the whole show is about. These characters are flawed and heroic and struggling and empathetic and overburdened and competent and hurting and real.
abbot and robby both faking kristi's ultrasounds so she can get the abortion she needs. mckay reporting david for the sake of those girls when robby wouldn't commit to taking action. perlah covering her patient with her own body when they find a gun on another patient during the mci. al hashimi doing the same for brenda with the truck she tried to walk into. dana faking an emergency that she knows will get gus a room upstairs so he can get proper care. santos standing up for alana when alana wouldn't do it herself. mckay drilling a hole in her ankle monitor during the mci so she can keep helping people. mel shutting off the lights and taking the time to find a foot bone model and explaining very clearly to her autistic patient what she thinks and what can be done. langdon doing the same for becca. joy suggesting that orlando stay in medsurg so he can get proper care without the er bill. mohan getting supplies together so he can still get proper care on his own terms. abbot helping her send them to him after he takes off. mckay going the inconvenient route and keeping amaya for observation which ended up saving her life. jesse defending pernita from the ice agents at the cost of his own freedom. santos arguing for jude to stay with his sister because neither of them can afford to lose another family member. mohan asking every question before invoving psych because she believed nandi when she said something was really wrong. mckay leaving the hospital to help kiki because she knows there's nothing more she can do for roxie at this point. because nothing matters more to any of them than helping people however they can
“And as he approaches the gates of the underworld, he can’t contain himself any longer. He turns around to look at her and she is trapped in the underworld forever.”

But we always make them presentable in case someone comes. It's the last thing we can do for 'em
THE PITT - 12:00 PM
I love how Robby says "we're a safety net, and nets have holes" but then the entire episode is a love letter to nurses and how they keep patients from falling through the cracks. Dana immediately goes and interferes to make sure that Gus is admitted to the hospital. Perlah has the most emotional response to Louie's death, and it's the nurses who are all mourning his loss together. When Roxie is struggling with her bedpan and humiliated, Princess kindly reminds her that that's what she's here for. Dana and Emma take care of Louie's body and Dana tells Emma's that it's the last thing they can do for patients. When Joy asks Robby how Kim "already knows all that" he responds that "she just does" because she's an experienced nurse who knows what she's doing. They can't get an ASL translator so Princess tries her best with her less than perfect ASL just so a patient can know they haven't forgotten her. Donnie is taking time to teach the med students how to suture because he's better at it than the guy who's been a doctor for a week. Jesse immediately goes and gets Gus a drink because he's starving and holds the drink and straw for him. Princess comforts and holds the panicked sister of a patient as she worries about "what's wrong with him". And then, at the end, Emma holds Louie's hand because there's no one else there to hold it
i'm so so happy about the fact that they still included tyson telling percy about how he prayed for a friend and poseidon sent him percy, and i also think that the place they moved it to is perfect. it hits just that little bit harder because percy doesn't understand why tyson's so grateful to poseidon- what for?- and then tyson just says, so simply but so impactfully, that he asked the gods for a friend and then he gained a brother.
"It's almost a comforting thought that Percy's not just born out of Poseidon wanting glory and his son to be the one to save Olympus. He was born because his dad loved his mom. And I think that's kind of special for him to hear." - Walker Scobell
