Forever, Dance.
I defended you, countless times. I protected your name, to people who could never understand, and didn't matter. Even in the moments you didn't deserve it, it didn't matter to me. Defending your honor was worth more than anything. I'd have brought down armies in your honor. Topple regimes. To think that people could have a single, solitary bad thought or outlook on you, with knowing what I knew. Who you were. What your direction, decisions, actions were composed of. How once you started smiling, even if your lowest moments, you couldn't peel that smile off, even with magic. The hurt deep behind your eyes. The trapped soul, lost. I wonder if it's still lost to this day. An unsolved puzzle with all the pieces in place, just in the wrong spots. I yearn, for your solution.
