The place of shelter for all Bohun-like Souls (🇵🇱 🇺🇦), created to express my love for H. Sienkiewicz’s “Trylogia” and J. Hoffman’s films based on it (🇵🇱), and in particular – for Jurko Bohun, one from its main characters, based on Ivan Bohun (🇺🇦), real Ukrainian Cossack hero from the mid-17th century. Sadly to say: NOT FOR THE ACTOR PLAYING HIM ANYMORE. This site contains pieces of my original artwork (drawings and pastels). As a person fascinated with the film “With Fire and Sword” (1999) from its beginning, I have decided to share here with other Fans some material from my old, personal collection: press cuttings/photographs from the Polish Press and fragments of VHS recordings from the TVP (1997–1999). It is a fan account. I do not benefit from it. I do not claim copyrights to photos and screenshots that appear on theophan-o.tumblr.com. Copyright belongs to the Photographers and the TVP. In the event that there is still a problem or error with copyrighted material, the break of the copyright is unintentional and noncommercial and the material will be removed immediately upon presented proof.
Little pencil sketch of the Ukrainian Cossack Colonel from the mid-17th century as imagined by Theophan-o. Maybe, not 100% historically accurate and - yes, I admit, I love to draw slim and graceful Cossack Princesses, but here interestingly the reverence picture was some vintage photograph of a real MALE warrior from the Eastern Europe 💜
Because of the following events in my country I will say a few words to calm down some people and stop people from spreading false information.
1. Our airspace was invavded by Russian drones, not Ukrainian. We already confirmed it. It is the first time Russian drones entered our borders. Previously those were Ukrainian misles. What is more concerning that those drones came from Belarus, not Ukraine. And from the neswest information some of those drones were not weaponized (provocation).
2. The drones were shot down pretty quickly by our defense systems. All the demage you see was caused by the remains of those drones hitting the ground.
3. WE WERE NOT OFFICALLY ATTACKED. AND THAT WAS NOT A WAR DECLARATION. What's more that's probably a simple provocation to trick us into joining the war.
4. Fun fact, Russia asked our president a long time ago to attack Ukraine from the east. They want us in that war. And we know very well, if they were to win it, they would target us next.
5. This is the first time Russia is provoking us, but it's the first time they invaded our airspace like that. Before that there were only cyber attacks and loud words.
6. Belarus and us already have a slighly strained relationship. From what I know and feel like personaly, I do not see Belarusians as enemies. Their goverment is ruled by Russia. That's the problem. Probably most of Belarusians do not want war and do not want to attack us. And we were close to a war with them back in 2021. And that was also a provocation from Russia.
7. WE CALLED ON NATO ART 4. We called for a meeting with NATO countries to disscus the possiblity for the future attacks and to strengthen the defense as well as THE FUTURE POSSIBLE USAGE OF THE ARTICLE 5 AS THIS IS A DIRECT THREAT TO OUR COUNTRY AND IT'S SAFTEY. We did not declare a war.
8. There are rumors that we are preparing for a war. We are. Since February 2022 when the OFFICIAL war has started we are prepering in case we will be forced to defending ourselves. And since 2014 when the conflict has started we've been cutting ties with Russia in every way you can think of. It's nothing new.
9. All of that information clearly points towards Russia wanting us to start a war, which we hopefully won't (I hope the heads of my country aren't that dumb to fall for this). They want a world war, and that's why we shouldn't give it to them. And us Poles, we do not want to go to war, be involved in battles or to start one (funny considering how many wars we've been involved in). Either way most of us just blinked and went to continue with our lives cause we know it's Putin playing with us. If they attack us directly, we will defend. If they won't, we most likely won't step in.
That is what the recent events look like from the perspective of someone from Poland who got an RCB allert when she was drinking her coffee. Please read this, don't panick and don't spread false information. Thank you.
I know that Tumblr doesn't care about Eastern Europe, but there has been a new, very concerning act of Russian aggression, this time on Poland.
Between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, multiple Russian drones entered the Polish airspace. Most of them were shot down in Eastern Poland, however two made their way far into the country. So far, no more drones entered the airspace.
The red dots are drones, the black one is the place they found remains of a projectile of an unknown origin.
Russia of course lies and claims that there is no proof that the drones are Russian, so they take no blame.
If you know anything about the history of relations between Poland and Russia, you know that Russia has been the greatest enemy and oppressor of Poland for literal centuries (they were mostly responsible for the Partitions of Poland, which led to Poland losing independence for 123 years. Yes, 123 years of occupation.) Russia has put claims on Polish land forever, which was a huge reason behind the Soviet Union invading Poland in 1939 and then refusing to leave, effectively starting another period of occupation that ended in 1989.
What happened now is another sign of Russia's intentions. They don't want to stop at Ukraine - they want the whole Eastern Europe. And they don't make little "mistakes" like that. The drones were likely a test to see if the West gives a fuck about what they do here, if there will be any attention and reaction. After all, the West has failed Poland in 1939 - they promised military assistance but never delivered it while knowing that Poland was not strong enough to fight against both the Third Reich and Soviet Union. Now Russia hopes for the history to repeat itself.
And the problem is that it's not looking very good for Poland. After the years of the West still trying to trade and get along with Russia despite the invasion of Ukraine, it's hard to actually believe that in case of invasion of Poland, there would be any help. What Westerners don't seem to understand is that there is no trading with Russia - they will never be satisfied. If you think that you can trade Ukraine, Poland and other Eastern European countries for safety for the West, you're an idiot. Russia won't stop.
Anyway. There isn't much more to say right now. I hope that it's only a one-time incident, and I don't want to fearmonger. But considering Russia's recent refusals to leave Ukraine in peace, the future of the whole Eastern Europe is looking bleak.
Please, don't stop talking about Ukraine and keep your eyes on Eastern Europe. What is happening here is not less important than other conflicts around the world, so please, just remember about us.
