Hey! Uh I guess this blog hasnât really been active much huh. Sorry about that! Its almost a year too? Wow time sure flies.
When I created this blog I was very deep into everything YTTD and had lists of theories. Developing them ended up burning me out hard though and with life and stuff I guess I just never got back in the swing of things.Â
I did see 3-1 actually! I thought that would refuel my theories and for a short while it did but I guess they are really just WIPs.... And I try to refine everything before posting so uh...havenât gotten back into that hm.Â

I must first say that your theories are amazing! I enjoy to read them and they make me realise some things. I wanted to ask you about your opinion, with who do you think Miley was talking on the first floor? I think that's Gin, because Miley gave two tasks to that person, and only participant is able to those unnoticed or floor masters (Gashu and Miley hates each other, so it isn't him I think and Safalin had her chance to steal Ranger's chip, but she didn't do it, instead she gave it to Sara).
Iâm so glad you like my theories!! So your question is also one that I had and was thinking of making a theory on! Actually thanks to your ask, I decided to look into it earlier than intended. For clarification, this is the scene @shikiinatsumezakaa is referring to:

Now, I can say one thing with complete certainty. It isnât Gin. Details under the cut, since it did get a bit long!Â
The biggest clue to this is the way the mysterious person is presented. The height of the person is most likely equal to Mileyâs, Gin is much too short.Â
Secondly, the way this scene is put, we see the silhouette of the personâs hand. And all that we can tell, is that the person isnât wearing gloves, and especially not the gloves we see Gin wear.

Thirdly, the person talking to Miley, doesnât talk like Gin does. And I do mean other than his usual Meow and Woofs at the end of his sentences. Gin being a grade school boy has a way of talking thatâs distinctive.Â

In addition to that, the person seems to know more about the building than any of the players would have. They question the information Miley has. In any case, I am quite certain we actually have yet to meet the person Miley is talking to. It appears to be a doll, one of perhaps a higher rank than Miley but not as high up as the organization.Â
Now, the reason why I do think this conversation is of particular importance isâŚ.why is Miley against the destruction of the death game. To the player we assume her to be human. If sheâs like Gashu, she is trapped here in the game as well. Unless we are perhaps misinterpreting Miley, if this is actually Miley. Â
This game does well to deceive the player, weâve seen this with the misinterpretation of the emails Kai has sent in the first main game, as well as with Rekoâs clone in Chapter 2. Now how can her words can be otherwise interpreted? Lets start with this line:Â

Destroy can mean different things based on the circumstances. It could be the most obvious explanation with Gashu is trying to stop the death game from continuation. Or it could mean that Gashu is perhaps trying to sabotage the death game and perhaps nullify its purpose which could have significant consequences. One of which could even mean the annihilation of everyone in the death game. If it is the second one, it could most certainly explain why Miley was intent on stopping Gashu. And considering how the second main game went, with Gashu indeed interfering with the roles, it could have resulted in the 24 hour extension to the game, but instead he had ended his life, taking away any chance of ending the death game. After all, we are aware that Sou would have been able to significantly hack through the systems if he had one more hour.Â

We have no idea what was Gashu trying to accomplish but, it didnât seem like he was on the side of the players, thatâs perhaps for certain.Â
Could Miley be on the playerâs side then? Not necessarily, she could just be thinking about her own survival. We donât quite know the circumstances about the floor masters but if they are trapped into this role, they would perhaps prioritize their own survival over the players.Â
Back to the person Miley? was talking to. They are someone who know about the game more intimately. Perhaps someone from the organization, or a doll. They seemed a bit more timid, not unlike Safalin. They also seem to have more information, perhaps of a higher rank than Miley. However not high enough that Miley would worry about secretly talking to, with the intention of actually keeping this information a secret. We already know the security cameras dont have sound, and them being the dark would mean that they have utmost secrecy from the organization from knowing about this conversation taking place. In any case, it could be a doll or âhumanâ like Miley. My guess is that we will be seeing them soon, in the next chapter. I highly doubt its a traitor from the cast we know as of now, that idea has already been done, with Kai and Sou, plus we still have yet to know what exactly was Gin trying to do on the first floor. I donât want to think Gin is a traitor and although his actions are questionable, I do not think that means he is the person we saw talking to Miley.Â
On that note though, I do hope we get an explanation of what Gin was doing downstairs. Its really making him seem suspicious but he is also such a cinnamon roll, I really hope he isnât secretly evil. Once again, thank you so much for the ask!! Say Sara was the one who had to play Russian roulette with two choices, just like one of victimâs first trial? How would that change the game? Simply put, it would change the number of survivors of the game, the survivors themselves and how rest of the game might play out.Â
The first trial is vital to how the games will go. And I do believe that the reasons everyone got the first trials that they did was not by random chance. It was purposeful that everyone experienced what they did.

I also agree with you on this. Humans are very social creatures, it does not do well to isolate oneself. For Sou, everything was not in his favor from the get go. He found out there's not guarantee for him to live, he's been attacked (I'm not sure about the second one though, that could have been just an act), there's no escape route etc etc. And thus his only option was to keep away from everyone else at this point.
Kanna really did so much to try and earn Sou's trust and that's why he's got a soft spot for her. To Him? She's an innocent child who suffered so much already.
And yes normally, Sou would do whatever it takes to survive, in this version of the game, because of his distrust and desire to live. But he couldn't let Kanna die either. His attachment to her is what killed him.
And it actully just occured to me now. If you kill Kanna, technically it would've been Sou's fault.
He deliberately had her voted into the second round of the main game because he assumed she had the sacrifice card. He tried to ensure her survival but instead lead her closer to death instead. If she was chosen, he was also to blame as well. And maybe that's why he had to make sure she lived that round.

Hello everyone! Back with another theory. Unlike the other one, this started as a ramble of key points I was curious about. Somewhere I came to a realization and well what you are seeing is (hopefully) a refined and much more coherent version of my internal monologue. I have several theories about the true purpose of the game and I will be dividing them into separate posts just to keep the thoughts organized. Also because I have several theories, once we get an update, that will result in a change in a theory or perhaps an addition to one, depending on close to the bulls eye I get!Â
Something about the game that really just occurred to me is why is the organization so set on collecting memory data AND personality data.
Also why there is existence of dolls that are exactly like the characters themselves.

Now this is both from what I've learned in psychology as well as some ideas that resulted with my (still current) obsession of the visual novel Steins;Gate.
In Steins Gate, memories from the brain were digitized and were able to be transferred over, as a way to send information around.
The thing is, personality isnât the same as memory. The prefrontal cortex of the brain is where the brain regulates emotions while the hippocampus (both the left and right sides) are involved with most of the brain's memory and learning. This is an oversimplification of the way the brain functions, by the way. Most of the brain's functions are still being studied. However it may be, it is a lot more difficult to obtain personality because it's not a part of any single region.
And, for the organization to even be able to collect this data is enough to show how fearsome their power is.
Back to the theory however:Â
If you take that memory and personality data and put it into an android designed to look just like the person from whom the memory was taken out, it will be as if you cloned a person, as those two things are what define and identify us.Â
But wait Bee, you say, didn't that already happen to Reko?
Yes. Reko did get replaced by a doll clone of herself temporarily. And it fooled everyone, including the fake itself.
The thing is, what what the purpose of even doing all this? Well, with that little plot point, we learned a few different things.
One, the organization already has clones ready of the players, and data collected as well. The organization needed to be prepared with a clone of any one of the players as the room of lies could have been accessed by any one of them.Â
Second, the technology and science of the organization makes it clear how advanced the clones are, with the only difference being that the clones do not have blood while the humans do. The thing about this however, is that it could also be the organization be misleading the characters and the audience. If blood is the only thing that separates the clones from humans, then what if they do give the clones blood? How would be able to separate them unless we were to medically inspect them? After all, Clone Reko herself believed to be real, which means that she is indistinguishable from a human, even when it comes to human bodily functions.Â
Now, knowing that the clones can very much pass off as humans, the fact that this death game carelessly and relentlessly kills off its players, some of whom are particularly public figures, Reko for instance (in one of the potential choices), and the cop who was particularly elite, not to mention people who have families and people looking for them, professor Mishima and Joe for example, could be how confident the organization is in their current abilities, since it would be very suspicious for all these people to suddenly go missing would be incredibly suspicious.
Here's my guess at least.
What if perhaps the dolls are to inherit the memories of the Ai and pre death game, are supposed to be sent back as though nothing happened at all. That, or even currently speaking, the dolls actually have replaced their human counterpart. Joeâs girlfriend could potentially be hanging out with a Joe who isnât actually Joe. Similarly speaking, perhaps the reason why Alice couldâve been taken away from the prison was because a replacement doll Alice took his place.

On Kaiâs laptop, there was a file on a green haired person who looked similar to Shin Tsukimi but wasn't actually him. He died before the games and his name is definitely Sou Hiyori, confirmed by Alice, should you let him live in place of Reko.

He has the same scarf as Sou which I think he inherited it from that guy himself. When we flashback to Souâs first trial, we see a shadow talking to Shin. We also know that the organization brought him back. But perhaps he wasn't...quite complete. We don't see him on the rosters, you see, which means he wasnât meant to be a participant. Possible reasons for that is that, because he was incomplete, his involvement may expose the intent of the organization involved. That, or he was initially meant to be a participant but Alice killing him gave them an excuse to test out the data.

Analyzing the games reason for cloning doesnât quite make the purpose of the game though, unless the organization is using this game as some sort of experiment.Perhaps this game is meant to successfully clone a human, immortalize a person...in a sense.

If the game has a basis with the government or military, the data acquired would be priceless. The biggest connection we have to the organization is through Kai, or rather Kaiâs âfamilyâ. There is much we do not know of him but the computer and Kaiâs flashbacks do give us some insight. Kai was raised to be an assassin, and implies they have a team of assassins under their belt. Not only that but probably spies as well as people who collect memory data. An organization this large is unlikely to be like this without higher influence.
At this point in the story, we know little of how the outside world is really like. We have no idea how much time has passed since the gameâs start. It could have been days or weeks. We also are unclear of the political status of the outside world with only slight indications that at face value, the world is not at war. However we canât be sure what is stirring up at this point, whether there is some political unrest in which this experiments data would be absolutely necessary. As a result this theory is still very much incomplete due to a lack of information.Â
 However, I do believe this game may perhaps be a (messed up) experiment on human cloning and perhaps the accuracy of Ai run data versus actual humans.

In the beginning of the game we see him wary of revealing his name/ occupation. With Saraâs internal monologue, she assumes him to be timid. Ginâs dialogue commenting on Sou to get a job when he makes it out results in him looking a little distressed, which Sara interprets as this:

Sou is very clearly anxious at this part of the game, the news still incredibly fresh. I would also like to think he wanted to wait til mostly everyone introduced themselves to match his information with theirs, to seem just as innocent. After all it is revealed that in actuality that Sou is Shin and instead of being a job hopping late night convenience store worker, heâs actually self employed, perhaps as a hacker, judging by his computer skills.Â
In this death game, Sou recreated his identity to keep his walls up, guard up. He distrusts everyone, withheld information, used people, blackmailed people. He did everything for self preservation.

We donât have data on how the games really played out, not clearly at least . We donât know how Sou acted in the AI versions of the game, and considering that he did break the monitor with his AI, it seems like that information is deliberately left from us. But I do think itâs very different from the Sou we know in this game, considering he abandoned âhimselfâ.

A term as severe as âabandonâ would imply there was a drastic change. So the Sou who constantly lie and withholds information, who sees everyone with distrust, isnât really Sou. Itâs natural he became intensely distrustful though, considering he thinks everyone as an enemy. To someone whoâs only information is that people are killed by majority vote and his chance of survival is impossible would only consider that he is set up to be killed every time.Â

In the first main game, we see Sou snap when everyone puts their trust in Sara. The group as a whole trusts Sara because of her behavior, of how her actions speak for her. She was the only who got them through the Russian roulette, something Sou didnât see. From Souâs point of view however, Saraâs trust is fake, because he saw the emails and interpreted as her being with the enemies. Of course he would think that too, considering he was attacked because of him gaining this information. Sou is no fool, but he is also blinded by preconceptions fed to him from the first trial. Sara has the highest percentage of wins after all, she must be deceiving everyone, using them, that could be what is in his mind.

This line Sou says, when he snaps, is from his anger and frustration of people not realizing that Sara is deceiving them all, because he believed that to be the case, when we the player as well as other characters have an understanding of Sara because of her actions. This reaction from Sou could be targeted at his true self too, perhaps considering it to be weak and as a result the cause of his death.Â
To Sou, he never survived because he was weak, too trusting, too honest. These words do not describe the current Sou at all, however. Except, we do see glimpses of his kindness in the game, particularly in chapter 2.Â

He probably is very attuned to emotions and he knows what to say to help or hurt them. Hence why he was able to write something to Kanna that helped her feel free from the guilt of her sisters death. Sou has a soft spot for Kanna, because she is too honest for her own good. She is simply a child who has been hurt so much, and she trusts Sou to be good as well. I can imagine Sou cannot distrust her, nor think of this girl as an enemy. He did something to relieve her of her emotional pain. He did something of the similar extent to Sara, when he created an Ai of Joe just for her, and that final gift to her was what she needed to get past her hallucinations.Â
Also, one of the biggest character shifts we see in Sou is when escape is most likely, when he successfully hacks into the security system. This is when his fears of being chosen to die has faded away, because you canât be voted to die if all the survivors simply escape the game.

Sara points out that Sou seems lively when he is working on the hacking and when he completes and successfully hacks through the security systems, he calls Sara, Sara, not Miss Sara like he usually does. He also seems genuinely happy. He also wants them all to escape *together*. He doesnât keep this information to himself nor tries to leave ahead of everyone, and instead tells Sara that they all will go together.Â
Sou could easily have tricked them at this point in time, took the information to make a run for it. If he really only cared about himself he probably would have done so.Â
All this information on Souâs true self is necessary to understand his 0.0% survival rate in the simulation games.Â
In my guess, I think the reason hes never survived the game is because he chose not to. If he died, it was not by the choices of everyone else, but his own choice. He would have acted such that in the end, everyone would have chosen him.
To elaborate on this, I do think that after the first main game, if Sou did survive, he would have done anything it took to make it so one of the people who died would be him, whether it would be by taking the sacrifice card, or convincing everyone to choose him.Â
Just before the second main game, we get a glimpse of this scene/memory of sorts:

Sou is dying, similarly to how he was killed in the second main game. Some things to notice, is that Professor Mishima is there, implying this may be a memory from a simulation. The dialogue in this scene shows concern and worry for Sou, there is not hatred, nor any animosity or indifference to him. From this scene, its clear that he was not hated by, at the very least, the people shown here.Â
With as little information that we have here of the simulation games, I do find that coming to the conclusion that Sou self sacrificed himself in every game (that he survived the first trial of) to be highly plausible, especially considering his reaction to Kanna trying to self-sacrifice herself in the place of Sou.Â

His face is of shock and desperation. It is so incredibly clear that he cares so much about Kanna. If you do choose to kill her, he is beyond mad. He hates that someone chose to sacrifice them self for *him*. Especially someone he cares about.Â

When do kill Sou though, he says, âthatâs fineâ and accepts that Sara hates him. He accepts the decision because thatâs what he wanted. He wanted it so he would die in the place of Kanna. Â
When it finally came to his death, he didn't curse them or hated them, and instead he accepts his fate. I think itâs at this point, when he is dying, does he realize why he didnât survive any other time, hence why he says this:

Sou, if he had believed in everyone from the start, would only change how everyone perceived him, but not his fate, because to Sou, he could never let anyone die in his place.Â
To conclude this particularly long theory/analysis, I must bring back the first trial once more. Why did the organization do something like this to Shin Tsukimi? I think it went against the purpose of the game. The game about trust and distrust relies on each personâs opinion of others. And should Sou, sacrifice himself, it no longer is a game on majority vote but rather a single personâs personal decision. The organization had to change this part in Sou, and such, force him to take the drastic decision that resulted in everyone current perception of him.Â
