Solstice

For Disability Awareness Month, I chose to redo an old design I had done previously.  Art of Silence, the God of Death, Time, Loss, Grief and Mercy.  He is the one who rules over the Process of grieving. Grief is never just for the loss of life. Its the loss of who you were, the life you had and the things you miss about the old self. When I got sick with CRPS, I lost myself, the young me, the me I was when I was just 12 years old.  I was younger, happier and full of possibilities. I was going to become cop, or so I had hoped. I wanted to help people, fight crime and make a difference. But I cannot follow that path anymore, I lost alot to get where I am now. I grieved it, I didnt understand it. For alot of people in the world this reality is just started to happen or has been happening for years. I will say this about them. You can get past that loss, you can make a new version of yourself, you can Change the meaning of being Sick or Ill. NO one else can define your reality. Their judgements are not a reflection of you. You are amazing. I wont say "youre strong" "youre capable". Those words loose meaning, they get repeatedly so often. Those words feel hollow sometimes.
