Reflection on 1st Module Communication & Message
To reflect on the first module I feel that it has improved and restored my faith in the course. At the end of first year I was disappointed with the amount of one on one feedback and time we got with the lecturers despite asking for advice and help on my work. Especially on the open day it was stressed that this course would help me become a perfect candidate for the industry and there would be a lot of support from the course.Â
However, this year we have had a definite increase in feedback, whether its one on one or in groups. This has helped me develop my work and feel more confident in my work and progress. At the beginning of the module I enjoyed the tasks on Johari Windows and understanding the psychology behind behaviour of introverts and extroverts, this helped me understand the difference between two types of people that are on our course and helped justify some peoples behaviour towards work and deadlines.Â
One thing I still think it that the course is overly focused, we seem to do all sorts of little bits that I don't always see the correlation to our course - for example writing a report on travel and tourism?
I still feel that certain members on the course do NOT pull their weight in group tasks and sometimes I don't think these people are dealt with and continue to take advantage of other team members to do all the work yet still come out with a decent grade.Â
Despite stated bad points, I still feel there has been an improvement from first year and hope this continues to get better especially as I am striving to come out of this course with a very good grade in my degree and succeed within the industry and my career.Â

After collecting my data on lipstick, I did some research into stop motion in makeup to try and gather some ideas on how I can go about making my own stop motion video!x
Today in our seminar we were discussing data visualisation and research.
We were asked to collect visual research/data on ourselves as an example of a 'Day in the life of'.
I decided to do mine on lipstick and how darker colours are more dominant in the evening and nuder colours were worn during the day. Arising the question did I want to blend in during the day and stand out at night? Or leave my mark in lipstick in the evening?
This is where the research stages begin to create a big idea to finally get to an execution.
MY EXPERIENCE AT LFW
During the summer I was lucky enough to get work experience with FASHION SCOUT during LFW.Â
I worked backstage dressing models and assisting hair and makeup along with front of house where I liaised with PR, front rowers and other media.Â

Exactly how a doctor would.â
THE RESEARCH âWe brought our biological research group, chemist, and guiding dermatologists into the conversation to create a customized serum. Decades of research, over 100 scientists and researchers, five targeted technologies, 37 worldwide patents, and 12 published scientific papers later, this skin-care innovation was created.â
THE BREAKTHROUGH âThe advanced formulation targets repair to your unique skin damageâwhether its damage you see or damage you donât. The iconic designer discusses the new Dolce&Gabbana scent with the Sephora Glossy.
Described as âthe essence of Sicilian sensuality,â Dolce is a sultry addition to the legendary lineup that began with Dolce&Gabbanaâs eponymous first perfume in 1992. Aficionados wonât miss how the bottleâs elegant bow of thin, black, grosgrain ribbon recalls the signature white shirts and bow ties of the fashion houseâs early catwalk shows. THE INSPIRATION âDolce is a contemporary fragrance inspired by a memory. The originality is not just in the way it was created, using traditional essences and other brand new ingredients, but also because it is the translation into fragrance of a young new love that will, by virtue of its innocence, retain its youthful vitality.â
THE BOTTLE âDolceâs elegant packaging is reminiscent of a vintage fragrance flacon. The flower cap pays tribute to Sicilian customs, the original design handcrafted to portray the Marzipan sculptures seen in traditional confections. Dolce is signed in a flourish of black script, a replica of Domenico Dolceâs fatherâs own signature, underscored by a graphic twist of thin, black ribbon.â
THE NOTES Neroli leaves and Papaya flower open in a sweet, floral bouquet yielding to an opulent combination of full-bodied white amaryllis with white water lily and white daffodil. Warm musky notes layered with Cashmeran accents round out the fragrance with a feminine finish of light woods, earthy tones, and spices.
