Maybe don’t put flimsy plastic boxes in front of your stall, okay? Not just because they’re ugly, but because I’ve seen horses feet go through them and because barn aisles shouldn’t really have anything laying…

Agreed. NOTHING goes in our barn aisle ways. It’s just one more hazard. We have portable carts and hanging saddle racks that can fold down, or come off, out of the way when not in use. Other than that things ALWAYS go in a tack room. Learned the hard way….it’s much easier for a couple of robbers to pick up and transport a trunk that’s already in their path then pick locking a door.

I never thought about the security risk re: theft but you’re definitely right, some people feel like if there’s a lock on it they’ll be fine, but that’s definitely not the case.

I was always taught that there was nothing in the barn aisles, and frankly as someone who’s been a farm hand I really wouldn’t want to sweep all around a bunch of silly tack trunks.
