Run, Run Rudolph!
I love this reindeer guy from the Create a Critter cartridge. I added the big red jewel nose to make him a Rudolph!

Run, Run Rudolph!

Elegant Tree
I decided to take a different approach to the traditional Christmas tree card this year and designed this elegant winter tree.
I embossed the tree on a nice thick piece of shimmery card stock, added some glittery Stickles and finished it off with a few randomly placed rhinestones.
The lighting is bad in the below picture so it doesn't really show just how nicely the tree glistens!
Simple Skater
I love this figure skater cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge and I've been itching to use my Martha Stewart icicle punch so the two just pair together so well!
This card was purchased by my coworker for her daughters' skating teacher. Just perfect!
My new winter obsession is outdoor skating paths. I really need to get down to the Rideau Canal this winter!
'Tis the Season
It's almost December which means Christmas is approaching quickly.
I haven't done holiday cards in a while now but this year, we had a craft sale at work so I decided to get a jump start on my cards and make a few to sell. If there were any leftovers, I'd keep them for myself to send to friends and family.
I made this "Ho" Santa card at the very end of my marathon 50 card crafting session and it ended up being one of my favourite ones! It did not sell at the craft sale so I get to keep it for self.
I actually hadn't planned on make it…I was cutting out letters for signage to say "Holiday Cards" and I realized that I cut the 'h' and the 'o' way too big. I hate to waste so I repurposed them for this card.
The letters are from the Doodle Type font cartridge and the Santa accessories come from the Doodle Charms cartridge. And the embossing in the background is good ol' Swiss Dots.
Sometimes the best cards to make are the ones that were not planned.
It's been a long time since I last posted so it's only fitting that this post is about dino baby shower invites that I created for my friend Lorrie's baby shower. Again, when making invites, the best strategy is keep it simple - the more details, the long it will take. I made 15 of these dino invites in a very short amount of time. I think they are simple but still cute. I used the dino cutout from the Cricut Cake - Birthday Cake cartridge. Yes, the Cricut Cake cartridges work on paper too! Exciting! I embelished the mommy dino with a few orange gems and that's it. I toyed with the idea of adding a brown ribbon but felt that might be moving the invites in a more male direction because the parents-to-be don't know the sex of the baby.
Aydan's 1st Birthday!
Baby Aydan celebrated his 1st birthday this weekend and I made this alien-inspired card for him. Card size is 5x7. I used a nice silver paper for the background, Cuttlebuged a star print on it. Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Create-a-Critter cartridge.
Purple Bridal Shower Invite
Ack, it's been a long time since my last post! I'm still card making, just at a slower pace.
Here's a bridal shower invite that I made for my friend Melissa. She's getting married in July and I'm in the wedding party! Bridal shower is in May.
Wedding colours are purple, black and white so I tried to match those with the shower invite. Stay tuned for more shower decor as I will make a banner and some other paper decor items.
Many Shades of Thanks - Part 2
As promised, a few more baby shower thank you cards I made:
Many Shades of Thanks
Usually when I have to make a tonne of cards like invites or thank yous, the easiest thing to do is come up with one design and then make the same card over and over again until you have enough. I have a hard time doing that...I'm a glutton for punishment...I like to make individual cards that are unique so that everyone doesn't get the same card.
Case in point...these baby shower thank you cards:
I'll post a few more tomorrow.
Fall Wedding!
Wow, fall is upon us already.
I went to my cousin's wedding on the weekend. Made her this wedding card which matches her blue/silver colour theme:
And the happy couple:
Congrats Andrea and Brian!
Diaper Buggy!
My friend Karol is about to have baby #2 so we decided to make a diaper buggy for her. Technically, Rach constructed the buggy. I just contributed the Hello Kitty piggy bank:
I also did the signage for the back of the buggy:
And Karol kept the sign for baby Mira's nursery:
Can't wait to meet her!
Cottage Wedding
I attended a lovely wedding this summer. The couple got married on the bride's family's property in Muskokas.
I didn't know the couple that well but knowing that they were having an outdoor wedding, I made them this card:
A few photos from the day:
Congrats Sarah and Patrice!
Shower and Wedding Card
My dear friend Lara got married this weekend in Kenora and I couldn't attend :(
She had a Hawaiian themed bridal shower so I did this simple but cute card for her.
And then for the wedding:
I believe her wedding colours were blue. Can't wait to see the wedding pics and congrats to the happy couple!
Bridal Shower Card!
My cousin Andrea is getting married this fall. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend her bridal shower but my sister went and we got her a toaster from her registry.
I made this cute card using the toaster cut from the cartridge From My Kitchen. I added in the 'heart' toasts because I thought it was appropriate for a bridal shower. Background is embossed with corresponding Cuttlebug folder.
Chevron Birthday
Yes, my obsession with chevron continues. I made this Happy Birthday card for my friend Angela. Chevron patterned background paper and then sentiment cut using Birthday Bash cartridge.
More Cuttlebug!
As you know, I am Cuttlebug obsessed and I literally have to stop myself from running out and buying any new folders that come out. Here are the newest...although I may have to buy just this one:
It's called Charles. I love chevron!!!!
Anchors Aweigh...cute nautical theme!
School of Fish - okay, also very cute!
Wood Grain - Meh...not that exciting.
Welcome baby Wesley!
My sister had her baby! Welcome to baby Wesley:
He is just way too cute, and he smells wonderful, like BABY! I am obsessed with him!
I made him this 'welcome to the world' card:
I've been obsessed with chevron pattern lately so I used it for the background. The whale guy is from Create a Critter.
