rereading tbosas and thinking about the trust displayed by the tributes towards one another, and obviously there's Lucy gray and jessup and reaper + his district partner, but

one moment in particular really really stands out for me: when the snakes are just released in the arena, and Teslee is slipping down a pole and she looks at Mizzen, a boy from another district, and calls out for help.

Sure, it could just be desperation, but there's something profound about this moment where districts no longer matter and it's just one girl calling out to another boy asking for him to save her from imminent death. It's the instinctual trust that others will do the right thing, and it's more akin to the nature of mankind than whatever dr gaul was talking about.
