Ghosts by Alexey Egorov
hey
HEY
I LOVE THIS
I FUCKING LOVE THIS
GOD
Every day i think about those black musicians whose songs were made into covers by white people and now everyone thinks that these are the originals. Youtube comment sections are full of people like "is this what it feels like to find out you're adopted?" instead of celebrating and promoting the original creators of the songs.
Gloria Jones - Tainted Love
Little Eva - Loco-Motion
Martha & The Vandellas - Dancing in the Streets
James Ray - I've Got My Mind Set On You
Big Mama Thornton - Hound Dog
Robert Knight - Everlasting Love
Erma Franklin - Piece of My Heart
The Family - Nothing Compares 2 U (written by Prince)
The Supremes - You Can't Hurry Love
The Supremes - Keep Me Hanging On
The Top Notes - Twist and Shout
Lord Creator - Kingston Town
The Paragons - Tide is High
Commodores - Easy
And here's an entire playlist with songs by black artists covered by The Rolling Stones:
Draining and paving wetlands is just about one of the worst ideas ever. When water can disperse along a winding waterway into soft soil it slows it's movement way down. Slow water deposits sediment instead of eroding it. Plants can grow in it that clean the water and trap more sediment. That increased soil absorbs and slows extra water when there's a larger rain than usual and buffers the effects of even torrential storms.
Fast, straight waterways remove soil, and don't give water a chance to soak in. Often insult is added to injury by paving and armoring the banks (ostensibly to reduce erosion) removing any possibility of absorbing and slowing extra water. Any increase in precipitation upstream means a higher water level. A storm means catastrophic flooding.
Draining wetlands doesn't make more "usable" land, it sets the stage for tragedies.
A moodboard of some of my favourite fall aesthetic to celebrate a follower milestone 🍂🍁
And yet my heart is not broken. Do you think me wicked? Sleepy Hollow (1999), dir. Tim Burton

tfw you celebrate Earth Day with Justin Bieber as a baboon, Ariana Grande as a zebra, Miley Cyrus as an elephant and Leonardo DiCaprio as, well, himself. 🐘🦓
Help save the world. Watch Lil Dicky’s EARTH, produced by RYOT. 🌎
Best part…a portion of all the song’s profits are going to support non-profits on the front lines of implementing solutions to climate change. 🙌
Snowing at sea
Why do I never think about the possibility of snow on the ocean??? Now I see why, because it’s too ethereal
A poem needs understanding through the senses. The point of diving into a lake is not immediately to swim to the shore but to be in the lake, to luxuriate in the sensation of water. You do not work the lake out, it is a experience beyond thought. Poetry soothes and emboldens the soul to accept the mystery.
