( laughing at the irony in the newest episode being that my boyfriend roleplays a garnet,,, i’m so excited, though!! did anyone see this nerd’s shades? and his whole, “wASSUP STEVEN, / POPPED LEG” trying to be all cool and impress garnet, like, calm down there, loser.)
Do you get enough to eat? You seem to eat against the clock a lot, it doesn't seem that well thought out with your schedule.
“My, aren’t you a curious one. Rest assured,” he held out the stranger’s letter as he spoke, smiling, “I eat both breakfast and dinner. It’s only lunch that I tend to skip out on. I do try and squeeze a snack in while working my shift, though,” he laughed, “which isn’t difficult to do when you’re delivering to so many snack huts. It’s just, well, difficult to have any fulfilling meal when your main focus has got to be finishing that route.”
Jamie shrugged, curious as to why the stranger was so invested in his eating habits, yet thankful all the same. “because there have been instances where I’ve stopped for an actual bite to eat and ended up not finishing my daily route on time. Which, uh, usually ends with Barb’ requesting I work over time in order to finish it.”

Sunrise
“Breakfast,” Jamie replied, with a bit of a far away look to his eyes. It’d been a while since he last ate, not wishing to stop his daily route just yet. Stopping, even momentarily, meant less time to deliver letters. Because of this, there were often days in which he skipped lunch entirely; which, of course, only made breakfast all the more important to him. “You can never go wrong with a good, wholesome meal to start your day off right.” The postman laughed, “at least, that’s what my mother would tell you.”

Jamie flushed, brow furrowing in obvious exasperation. Thanks to Bucky Dewey and co, there was only one thing he could associate with the popular children’s television show. “Mail time,” he grumbled, rolling his eyes. “I mean, I understand the humor of it. I honestly do. But being ambushed with that song nearly every morning for a full week has to get on anyone’s nerves.” He laughed, brushing a hand through his hair, fingers trailing down to sheepishly scratch at his neck, “right?”

Mun is back, I think! I’ve been working and catching up on some things, ( mostly sleep. ) But I should be kicking out replies tomorrow and pushing myself, and Jamie, into some form of working order! Are you guys excited for Jamie’s episode next week? GoSH.

“ Well, lemme think for a sec…. ” Greg brought his hand to his chin, catching sight of Jamie’s quick gaze with blush filling his cheeks…and suddenly the rock star himself had lost all train of that – Greg a blushing mess at how cute the mailman looked. His entire train of thought wrecked by his adorable smile. Place to hang out…place to hang out….goooodness his smile though. ‘ WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE SO CUTE!?!? ’ he thought to himself.
Greg managed to collect his thought after blushing madly while making eye contact with the post man for a brief couple of seconds. Nice, cute, perfect. Yeah, whatever. Place to hang…out. He had gone through all the list of possibilities in his head when a single place had stood above the rest. One Greg was sure Jamie would enjoy…and hopefully enjoy being WITH him as they were there. “ H-h-hooow’s the arcade sound, man? By the way, I didn’t catch your y-your name. As the postman you know mine is Greg, though. ”
Jamie directed his attention towards the beach, hoping the waves would serve as valuable distraction from the memory of the other night now flooding his head. Why did Greg have to be so affectionate? He was so careless in his interactions, with too big a heart, really.
The postman turned to look at his companion when he heard him speak up, cheeks flushing once more. “The arcade?” Oh, that wasn’t so bad. “I haven’t been in a while,” not since a few lazy afternoons in high school, “I might be a bit rusty,” he admitted with a laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.
“It’s Jamie, by the way,” how embarrassing. Greg kissed him without even knowing his name. Only further proof that it could all be chalked up to some spur of the moment impulse. “Just, Jamie the postman.” Why the stumbling over words, he wondered? No, no, he shook his head, Greg couldn’t be nearly as flustered as he was.
“Uh,” he laughed, maintaining his distance from Greg yet daring to take a step closer, “so tell me, what kind of games do they have, again?” His father preferred he play with less image-oriented things. “Bad for the eyes, ears and the brain,” he’d been told, so arcades had never been a particular staple of his growing up. "You'll have to be patient with me, now," he smiled.

“E-Excuse me?” Not that he minded the lifestyle, it had just, well, never particularly appealed to him, personally. “That’s something I can’t help you with,” he blurted, cheeks flushed in both frustration and a mild sense of humiliation. “I’m the local mailman,” Jamie huffed, turning sharply on his heel and continuing his route, grumbling to himself as he went, “not your personal toy.”
"Hey, you're the mailman right? Can I just give this right to you?" Jenny asked, holding out a couple letters.
“Oh,” he took the letters, eyeing each of them individually in order to ensure they were all properly stamped and so forth, ”of course, I don’t see why not.” He smiled, slipping them into the bag which hung low at his waist. “Is your dad feeling any better? Kiki mentioned he wasn’t feeling well.”

I’d love to ask him, an dall of that, but – you know, it’s kind of nerve racking. Lars and I are kinda past the dating phase but we’ve never actually dated. You know what I mean?
…ah, you’re probably not here to lsiten to that! What kinda donuts can I get you?
Jamie pursed his lips, giving this some thought. “Uh,” he pulled out his wallet as he spoke, "have you tried asking him what he wants? I mean, you don’t have to explicitly ask for a date, but, maybe just try and ask what it is he’s... looking for?” Perhaps not the best advice, but it was certainly better than nothing.
“I don’t mind listening,” he smiled, “but I wouldn't exactly be against a cinnamon sprinkled doughnut, either,” he suggested, handing her a five. Honestly, he didn’t mind listening to the teenager’s woes. He’d heard more than enough from the other townspeople. It surprised him at times, how carelessly they spoke to him. As if gossiping and giving advice were a prerequisite for becoming a mail carrier.
“You know how you can save my world? Sign here, please.”

"There's no post on Sunday...You wanna hang out or something?"
Jamie turned at the voice, eyes widening just the slightest in surprise. He hadn’t expected to see Greg while out on his morning stroll. Not that he didn’t mind seeing him, it was just, well, rather awkward considering the last time he’d seen him it had resulted in a kiss and him stumbling over his feet in a rush to leave.
“You’ve caught me,” he laughed, sheepishly pushing a hand through his hair. He had no reason to feel embarrassed. The kiss wasn’t meant for him, no, it was a spur of the moment, that’s all. No need to grow so flustered, Jamie. “No post on Sunday means I’m free,” he met Greg’s gaze, ( always so sincere ), for only the briefest of moments.
“Anything in mind?”
“ Only if you want to, ” Greg chuckled, winking at the flustered mailman- teasing him. “ You could write it down, or just say it. It’s really lovey-dovey though, so I don’t expect it to be exactly the same. She’ll like it no matter how you give it to her though. ”An awkward pause, Greg ruffling his hand through his hair, blushing as he just realized the display he gave to the mailman was watched, but he quickly regrouped himself. The show must go on, right? “ Oh, and you said you needed a stamp, right? ”
A deep breath, nervousness as warmth welled in the pit of his chest. You only live once, right? To heck with it. Greg found the confidence, smirking slightly as he pulled high on the strap of Jamie’s bag- his left hand wrapping around the mailman’s waist. A stamp of sorts – Greg’s lips stamped on to Jamie’s as he was the letter, in essence. After a few seconds, he pulled away breathing heavily – wiping his lips as he winked to the blubbering mail man.
“ And…don’t give that to Rose. After all, the stamp IS only for the letter. ”
"Well, a stamp isn’t necessary,” he assured the man with an admittedly awkward, rather forced laugh, “I think I can make an excep--” his words were cut short as Greg surged forward, a sharp exhale of breath tumbling forth from his lips as he was tugged into a kiss. A surprisingly nice kiss, he realized, face flushing hot. One he found himself unable to pull away from, yet equally incapable of returning.
Jamie couldn’t be more thankful when it drew to a close, heart pounding in his chest as his lips moved soundlessly, searching for the words to pull himself from this situation. “That was,” he licked his lips, eyes wide, skirting about rather nervously in a desperate attempt to avoid eye contact, “uh,” shit where was he going with that.
“I’ll,” words, Jamie, “I’ll, um, get on that right away, then,” he laughed. His face felt hot, the man suddenly aware of the tightness of his shoes, his sweating palms, the weight of the bag strung over his shoulders, the recollection of Greg’s lips pressed against his ow-- “I’ll tell you what I, she, Rose, thinks of it,” he hurried, stumbling over his words. He stepped back, realizing that his legs now weighed more, ( or less? ), than they had before.
“Goodbye, Greg,” he blurted, turning and running, practically tripping over his own two feet as he did so.

You seem to be in excellent health! And with a proper diet and exercise you'll be able to stay in this line of work for a long while! Running around beach city all the time must be difficult. Oh and about your diet, you know what they say pineapple does for you *wink*
Jamie flushed, averting his gaze at the compliments. “Oh, it’s not so difficult,” he promised. “I don’t always run, and it’s helpful that I wear comfortable shoes.” He rather liked it, honestly, despite the aches and pains. He’d built up some rather impressive muscle, lithe as it was.
“Uh, and no, that, uh,” he stammered, shoulders tensing as his face reddened considerably, “I should really finish this route.”
“I got you covered, babe,” Kiki returned with a grin, moving towards a slice of Hawaiian style. Going for a to go container, assuming that’s what Jamie wanted before answering his other question, “Well, he’s doing better. I’m hoping this prescription does his back and attitude good, if you get what I mean.”
“Thanks,” he smiled, forever grateful for the kind services of Kiki and her family, both. “Oh, I know what you mean,” Jamie laughed, “I heard him fussing with Jenny earlier.” As to be expected with raising a teenager, he supposed. “Has it been busy? It seems like everyone is out today.” Yet the pizza parlor was bordering on empty, save for the couple in the corner.
He smiled as he accepted the slice, trading her the appropriate amount of cash in turn. “Do you think your dad will let you off early to enjoy some sun?”
