Hello, there! You may know me from my radio show, or perhaps...my digital show. This is not a role-play blog, I am an Alastor IRL. Sourcemates and doubles are absolutely allowed on this blog, and rather encouraged to interact :)

I figured I should let you know just a bit more. This happens to be my first time setting up a blog on tumblr, so tune on in, listeners! This will be quite entertaining! If you have any questions, ask away. It's a delight to hear from you.

Believe whatever the hell you want, as long as it is not harming anyone. Some beliefs are less socially accepted than others. Believing that heaven or Jesus exists takes just as much faith as believing in past lives.

Dear, Fictionkins! You are more than you think!

This post will tie a bit into multiple-reality theory, though it is centered around fictionkins and IRLs.

The Concept of Multiple Realities

Every second, there are billions of different choices you could have made. Different outcomes. Each one is a different reality, and each one exists. There is a reality where you decided to put on shorts instead of pants. Everything exists. Everything you can think of already exists. Think about it.

Just how does this relate to fictionkins or IRLs?

There are several different versions of YOU out there. There are realities where you act completely different. Name any character. There is a reality where that person is you. You are THAT character/person. Maybe you behave a little differently from your kintype, but that doesn't make you invalid. In this reality, you are [insert kintype], with different outcomes. Remember, energy can not be destroyed. You are the same energy, but with a different body and brain.

Remember, you cannot nit pick your kins. Not how it works. You may see redeeming qualities in some fiction characters. Qualities that you want to imitate and possess. That does not make that character your kin. Fictionkinning means you are INVOLUNTARILY identifying with the character. There is possibility of that character having some bad qualities/traits, and that's the reality of it.

Side note - Having kins with bad qualities is not an excuse to harm others.

Things that I personally find helpful when struggling with kin dysphoria

Listening to music your canon would listen to/you enjoy

(Traditional) writing down how you're feeling

Writing down affirmations + stating your identity

Sleeping

Make a pinterest board of yourself

Talking to a trusted person about it

Indulge in hobbies your canon may enjoy

It is important that you stay true to yourself! Do not change who you are to live up to standards that do not even matter. You ARE.

No one is obligated to hang around with someone they are uncomfortable around. but...You think someone stinks or is too unhygienic? Okay. Walk away if it bothers you that much. I have a very strong sense of smell, and things bother me sometimes. That isn't an excuse to harass others. Stop saying harmful things about people who are clearly struggling. Telling a friend "they're disgusting" does not help the situation at all.

Remember, you do not have to be the exact same as your canon to be valid. You're real. You exist.
