I nearly killed for Charlie, I’m sure Michael would do the same. But you? You just assume one of them did something wrong, because you declared him as the devil for loving a mortal. The other? He falls for the root and mother of evil, and he’s fine? You’re lucky they don’t hate each other. You’re lucky they didn’t turn against each other.

God put down his cup and with a flick of his hand the dead he had been working on disappeared.

“I DID love you Lucifer! Until you ruined my greatest creations! I didn’t cast you out for dating Lilith. After I made Eve to replace her I really didn’t mind what you did with her. but giving Eve the fruit of knowledge? Her becoming what she is today is entirely your fault. Lucifer!” He took a deep breath and continued.

“I loved you a lot Lucifer. You were my little shining star, my favorite! But you just let pride enter your heart and destroyed anything.

As for your brother. I knew what he was doing. I knew he was dating Eve. I didn’t mind it. I honestly didn’t think she was a threat, but after I saw what she made Michael do? Yeah… I definitely underestimated her. …”

Michael stood silently on the edge of one of Hell’s tallest buildings, his figure outlined against the crimson sky. The wind tugged at the white cape draped over his shoulders, though he never seemed to notice.

His new exorcist uniform was immaculate, not touched by ash or blood. It was white, eon his chest there was an “M”, just like Adam’s robes which had an “A”.

Covering his face was his familiar exorcist mask. The blue grin spread across his face from ear to ear and the X which covered his right eye seemed to glow in the darkness of hell

He didn’t know it had changed. He didn’t know that Roo had secretly corrupted it, weaving her magic into its very core in an attempt to seize control of his mind. The spell had worked but not in the way she had intended.

Instead of turning Michael into her puppet, the corruption had awakened something far darker.

A bloodlust. A relentless instinct that surfaced the moment he came in contact with the mask.

Michael didn’t understand why his thoughts felt different. He didn’t question why his heart beat just a little faster whenever he looked over the city below. To him, it all felt… natural.

His grip tightened around his all powerful sword. His gaze slowly swept across the streets beneath him.

Empty.

Only abandoned roads and flickering neon signs.

“Come out, come out wherever you are… do any demons want to play.” He said and grinned wider waiting for unsuspecting sinners.

The silence only made the feeling inside him grow stronger. It burned in the back of his mind, urging him to move, to search, to hunt. He couldn’t explain it, nor did he try. Every passing second seemed to sharpen his senses further.

His wings slowly unfolded, each feather catching the red glow that bathed the city.

Michael took a single step closer to the edge of the rooftop. His eyes never stopped searching the streets, rooftops, alleyways… but there was nothing… at least for now. A faint breeze carried through the empty city, and Michael tilted his head, listening and waiting.

Someone would appear eventually. They always did and when that moment came… He would be ready.

Behind Michael a few of Roos red eyes blinked open… she saw everything.

“No…”

This wasn’t what she’d wanted. He wasn’t becoming the perfect puppet she’d envisioned.

Instead he stood there like a predator. The corruption had sunk deep into his mind, but rather than making him hers, it had awakened a ruthless bloodlust that drowned out everything else.

“Damn it…”

She had spent all this effort corrupting the mask, manipulating Lute into delivering it, all for this. She hadn’t wanted Michael to become some mindless hunter!

She wanted to speak through him, rule through him, and slowly take Heaven apart from the inside without anyone realizing what was happening. Michael was supposed to be her key to the Pearly Gates….

For a moment, she considered destroying the spell altogether. But no … it was better to see what would happen. After all it’s not every day the archangel of war takes on the job of an exorcist.

A thought crossed her mind. Lucifer should probably know that his brother is in hell to exterminate his people. Roo quickly got her phone and dialed a number. The moment he answered, she spoke in an unusually calm voice.

“Lucifer… you and Lilith should probably look out the window. …” With that she hang up and put her phone away. “I need to find Cain ….”she mumbled.

Michael walked through Hell in complete silence, now nearing the Entertainment District. Neon lights across the horns of his exorcist mask.

His sword had shape shifted into a quite beautiful battle spear. Its blade was already wet with sinner blood. Michael didn’t even glance at it.

His eyes remained fixed ahead. The corruption within the mask continued to twist his mind. He had no idea Roo was responsible. All he felt was the growing urge to keep searching.

To keep hunting.

He tightened his grip on the spear and continued to move forward.

"You do know this mask ticks me off, right?" Vox appears in front of him in a zap of lightning, skipping down from the camera. He noticed Michael before he came in for the kill, and missed that as he travelled through the wires. "If you wanted to attract my attention, you could have simply..."

He realizes that the spear in Michael's hand is covered in blood.

"... called," he ends slowly.

"Michael, did you just double-killed one of my souls?"

Michael didn’t answer immediately. He looked at Vox for a moment before his gaze drifted away. With the back of his hand he calmly wiped the blood from his chin.

Suddenly the visor of his mask glitched.

The blue grin, the X, even the electric blue glow disappeared and it blackened completely for just a moment. His hand twitched towards his face as if he wanted to rip the mask off but couldn’t. That was only for a moment.

Soon the glitching stopped and the visor returned to normal.

Michael slowly turned his head back toward Vox. Realized that he too was a sinner. His brain went into attack mode and the spear in his hand dissolved into white light reshaping itself back into the sword.

“…He was in my way.” His grip tightened around the hilt as the blue grin spread across his face again. “…And now … so are you.”

Vox knows this sword. Once Michael showed it to him.

But he also noticed the gesture, that jerk of the hand towards the mask; and the predatory blue grin doesn't seem like the Michael he knows.

Does he even know this angel? Or all he saw was a curated version of the archangel he is seeing in front of himself right now? Lucifer trembled before his older brother. He warned Vox, but Vox never saw Michael that menacing, archangel of war or not.

Vox zaps himself to the side, creating space between them, wary of the possible attacks.

"Now, that's no way to talk to a friend," Vox says, voice smooth and pacifying, "What got you so worked up this time, Michael?"

Michael’s grin fades at the word ‘friend’, like it seems foreign to him. “Friend?…” There was a hint of recognition when he looked at him, that was the reason why the archangel didn’t attack immediately. As if something stopped him from deep down.

“Why would I be friends with you? You’re a sinner… and I hate sinners ….” The grip on his sword tightened at the sight of more of them passing through. The only thing what went through his brain was …kill them… and that was what he would do… after dealing with whoever this was.

“You ask why I am worked up. I am not… I am only doing my job as archangel of war, exterminating these wretched pests for the good of heaven.” That was a lie. This wasn’t for heaven. It just felt like what he must do for the sake of killing them.He started to advance and move closer possibly getting ready to strike, the wide grin returning to his face. “You are between me and my objective … so …I’ll have to include you in my mission …”

Vox is backing away, slowly, very slowly.

"But exterminations are over," he responds softly. "What are you really doing down here, Mike?"

Michael moves closer - and Vox zaps away to another roof. He does not attack, but doesn't run away completely, remaining in Michael's sight. His eyes and drones watch the archangel intently. He thinks for a moment about involving Alastor, but remembers a deep scar on his chest.

"To include me in your mission you need to catch me," he smirks, feeling the adrenaline rush in his veins.

Zapping away, switching directions, but always staying in Michael's sight, teasing, Vox slowly tries to lure Michael out of the Entertainment district and closer to Morningstar's palace. At least from there he will be able to pass this problem on to Lucifer himself.

His ratings are too low to allow his souls to die.

“All that pride… and you’re still running... Really I thought this would be harder. You are just filth wearing a smile.” Michael said loudly so he could hear.

His mask glitched again this time it reverted back in a few seconds. He turned his attention back to Vox catching on to what he was doing and deciding to play along.

“You are wasting time,” he said at last, his voice flat.

By the time Michael was already at the edge of the entertainment district his sword had already been covered in red. He didn’t pause, didn’t even acknowledge what he’d done. ( which was quite unusual for Michael because he isn’t just a mindless hunter) His eyes remained fixed on Vox.

His patience had worn thin. With that blue fire started to wrap around him and in a blink of an eye Michael vanished. He appeared on a rooftop a few felt away from where Vox was standing.

“I am growing tired of this! stop running!” It was obvious that Vox was managing to get under Michael’s skin. At this point he had thought of calling over one or two of his girls (exorcists), maybe even Lute, but he brushed the thought away not wanting them to get hurt. After all hell knew how to kill exorcists and Michael didn’t want to take any chances.

"Oh, but I don't want to die, why should I stop?" Vox moves back carefully, eyes on the sword and its owner. "Tell me, archangel of war, what is your objective? To kill everyone here? Why? Aren't we powerless against someone like you?"

Michael suddenly appears right in front of him, and Vox immediately zaps again. The role of the mouse in the game of cat and mouse is new to him, but he knows the game very well anyways. And he's one smart mouse.

He moves away, almost letting Michael catch himself, but this turns very dangerous very fast; Michael always has short temper, and now that short temper turns him even more murderous.

So the moment they are in the proximity of Morningstar's palace, Vox throws a lightning into Lucifer's window, shattering it.

"LUCI, GO DEAL WITH YOUR INSANE BROTHER, I THINK HIS MASK IS CURSED OR SOMETHING!" he shouts, and then turns into electricity and zaps away through the surveillance camera as fast as possible, fleeing the battlefield.

He is no coward, but he isn't stupid either.

The question caught Michael off guard because he didn’t really have an answer to that. He just wanted to kill sinners, like there was a voice inside him commanding him to do this. “Stop playing!” He finally shouted. “I’m doing this because it’s necessary! Adam had a reason for the extermination and now I’m continuing what he started!”

The sword in his hand shapes into a bow and arrow as he flys after Vox from above. He shoots one it barely misses and erupts into blue fire. He shot another, then another and another. It was clear that he hadn’t intended this to go on for so long. Let’s just say Vox wasn’t an easy kill.

Michael chased him till Lucifer’s palace. He looks around and realizes where he is. “YOU FUCKIN TRICKED ME MORON!”

He tries to hatch him but it’s too late he had already zapped away.

"Fucking Lucifer... When I trap him, I'm gonna make sure he won't be able to walk in a week." Lilith grumbled from under her breath as she walked down the aisles of the Morningstar's Palace.

Lucifer had trapped her inside so she does not get herself involved with Michael. However...

A loud noise of shattering glass raised her from her thoughts. "What the–?!" She yelled out, as she ran to the source...

...

And came across his dear brother in law, Michael. Wearing an exorcist outfit and a mythical sword.

... "Michael."

Michael was still a little bit irritated by not being able to catch Vox. He was thinking of where to go next when he was he sister in law, Lilith.

He generally had a good relationship with her but with this mask on he had forgotten every good memory of her, only remembering the bad… not only that another thought went through his head.

Lilith was a sinner…. The first one…

And right now he wanted nothing more than to kill every single last one of them.

His grip on the sword tightened. (By now the bow and arrow changed back into the sword) it was still a bit dirty with the dried sinner blood. Michael glanced at Lilith again and disappeared in a puff of blue fire.

But he wasn’t gone…. Not yet…

Lilith ran to where Michael had been standing on, trying to get close to him and actually talk face to face (or face to mask), but he had already disappeared.

"Fucking Roo... What did you do?..." She looked around. "Michael! Michael, if you can hear me! I just want to talk! We don't have to fight! No one has to get hurt!"

Of course, she had not realized Michael had already hurt someone...

Michael appeared a few feet away from her. Sword ready in case she tried to do anything. He was ready to hurt her. She could probably see the already dried blood on it, but honestly? He didn’t even care. It’s not like he was hiding it.

“What is it?” He said flatly looking at her through the mask, which had an X over his right eye and was giving off an electric blue glow.

The urge to kill her was still there, but the mask didn’t make him stupid. He thought it would be better to hear what she had to say.

"Michael..." Lilith looked at him with her hands up. She noticed the blood on his sword already. "You killed someone, right?... It's okay, you can still repent. Listen. Put the sword down. Sinners are not at fault. They don't deserve to be exterminated...

... Please, put the sword down and go back to being my family. "

Michael looked at Lilith and then back at his sword. The blue grin on his face widened and he said. “You were never my family…” he might not have ment it because he didn’t really remember anything of her, but it still would have hurt.

He didn’t put his sword down, only raised it higher. Now it was fully drawn. “No! I won’t put it down. I’m only doing my job, which was long overdue. Your kind deserves to die.” When he said this his mask slightly glitched again going black for just a moment and Michael’s hand flew to its surface, like he wanted to take it off but couldn’t. It slowly lit up again and that little spark of vulnerability was completely gone. “… now … we’re was I?”

She saw the flicker on his mask, the hesitation, Roo has told her that she had done something to Michael that had corrupted him...

It was obvious. All the signs pointed at the mask being the source of all his anger, his negative emotions, his desire to draw blood.

"Alright, Michael... I am just going to get close...." She gave a few steps towards him, with her hands up in the air.

"I am not going to sing, trust me..."

She got close enough to be able to whisper in his ear. "It will only take a moment..."

And she put her fingers in the inside of the mask, intending to violently rip it off.

Michael didn’t like that Lilith had come close, but for some reason he let her. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to do anything to actually hurt him.

When Adam had made that mask for him, Michael had it stuck for a few hours, because he simply couldn’t figure out. He had later found out from Adam that exorcist masks have a locking mechanism so the helmet doesn’t fall off during battle. It was simply impossible for anyone who wasn’t an exorcist to know how to unlock it.

As soon as he felt the grip on his mask, he immediately knew what she was trying to do. With a fluid motion of his hand he shoved her away. “Oh, you think you’re smart huh? Well… let’s see how that goes for you…”

He grabbed his sword which he had dropped, but during this moment he turned his back from her, giving her a chance to strike if needed. He didn’t worry though. Because to him Lilith was just a small inconvenience.

"Tch... Fucking Adam..." Lilith whispered, and she felt the small shove Michael did to put her away.

... He had turned around. Lilith was sure now that there was still some kind of conscience left of Michael down there who didn't want to hurt her.

He had just given her a chance.

With a swift singing, a partiture appeared out of thin air, and it started wrapping tightly around Michael's body, like if it were made of steel.

Lilith got close once again, starting to mess around with the lock on his mask.

"Don't worry, sweetie. Adam and I are made out of the same mold. Everything he can do, I can do as well. I'll figure it out. Somehow."

Michael felt the steel like strand wrapping around. By then he had already reached his sword. Using it he cut through the band. He snarled. “Worry? I don’t worry and I am certainly not worried of you doing anything.”

He flew to one of the higher towers of the palace and perched on a railing. His sword shifted and turned into a bow and arrow.

“Try this on for size, and don’t worry sweetheart if I miss whatever this will hit will erupt in my blue flames.”With a flick of his hand the magical arrow went flying straight towards Lilith.

Lilith let out a gasp and summoned a partiture that thankfully protected her, but the arrow still hit the floor.

The floor started to get wrapped in blue flames. "Oh, no, no, no, no!"

"Michael! Stop this!" Lilith coughed a bit because of the smoke.

Michael crossed his arms and laughed. “Stop it? Hmmm… let me think about it… NO!” He said as he watch how Lilith was trapped in a circle of holy fire.

For a moment he felt worry rise in his chest as if he didn’t want her to get hurt for some reason. This was weird because she was still a sinner and he was the one who had the urge to annihilate every single one of those filthy creatures.

While thinking of this he unknowingly made the flames smaller. Not completely gone, but definitely not out of control as they were before. “Tch, you aren’t worth it… “ he said when he had finally brushed the worries away. With a flick of this wings he flew above the palace and started circling it in the air, waiting for Lucifer.

Lucifer flew through a window and went out the other holding his brother. He got them out of the palace. He made a giant portal, making the palace disappear. Lucifer landed in front of his twin with very angry eyes. His eyes were full red out of anger.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THEM???

If you wanna deal with a sinner, demon, deal with the biggest one. I’m the devil. Deal with me. Not them.

Lucifer literally dared Michael to attack him. Forcing him into another battle. He knew he wasn’t going to even slice a paper cut on his arm. He would never hurt Michael. But Michael look’s like he would. So he opened his arms to tell him “come on here”

Michael looked at Lucifer. He didn’t have an urge to hurt him, because his hatred was only towards sinners and his twin was an angel.

But he didn’t hesitate when Lucifer stood in his way, his masked gaze locked onto him. At that moment he wanted to get rid of the obstacle in his way. It meant nothing that Lucifer was his brother.

He looked at his sword as it started to glow brighter and brighter with heavens light. Michael positioned his hand above it and fired a concentrated light blast towards Lucifer.

“Interference detected…. You should have stayed in your place demon!”

Michael looked at Lucifer.

His blue grin widened as he disappeared in a puff of blue flames. It seemed as so he really had left. For a full 15 minutes there was nothing

But he returned and charged at Lucifer knocking out the lighting blade from his hand, while stringing with his. As soon as he landed a strike his sword shaped into a beautiful battle axe, which had a cross in the middle where the two blades joined.

Michael spun it around and charged at Lucifer full full speed. The mask may have corrupted him but he was still the great fighter he always was.

“Just so you know I didn’t want to hurt you. You brought this on yourself when you challenged me.”

Another swing. “Don’t forget hell is forever…”

Michael drew another concentrated beam of light from his sword aimed it at Lucifer and said. “I’m doing this for the good of heaven.”

His axe hit his shoulder. Which made his eyes turn red again. He aimed at Michael’s arm which landed perfectly. He stopped for a second regretting and feeling guilty. But he shook his head and came back to his senses.

He was dodging every hit Michael was trying to land. He took Michael’s sword from the sharp side. Making his palms bleed, and throw him outside of palace gardens. Away from the palace. He could care less about his pain right now.

Michael. Looked at what he had done to Lucifer. Guilt rose in his chest the mask started glitching again, like the real Michael was trying to stop this. Deep down he felt more pain then Lucifer, because he was doing something he vowed to never do again.

“Lucifer… take —“ the mask turned back to normal and Michael continued fighting. His sword shaped into a bow and arrow. He shot wt Lucifer the arrows erupting in blue fire.

“Heaven is good, heaven is righteous, you are only saying this because you failed to meet their expectations! You disobeyed and got punished for it! Don’t act like some victim!”

With that he fired another blast this time much stronger.

He dodged every single arrow flying around. His hands were bleeding covering the floor with golden drops. He landed hard on the floor, right in front of Michael’s face. Making a big crack.

If you fail because of a small mistake that will hurt no one! Not even giving a second chance. And get punished for it. Than heaven failed.

Lucifer saw something wrong with the mask. So he punched it. He hates… no despises that mask. Making his brother force to do bad things, making exorcist, wars to hell, taking souls just because why? Just because they can. Lucifer stopped for a second to test something as he saw a little crack in his brother.

Michael moved away from Lucifer. He was angry because his twin discovered that the mask was the problem. He saw the blood. His little brothers golden blood. His twin was bleeding while he himself was mostly untacked with only minor scratches.

His mask flickered again. “T-t-take it off—“ the mask turned back and Michael switched back into the ruthless hunter. He wracked Lucifer pinning him to the ground and resting his sword above his throat. “I’m winning…”

Lucifer was in between. Should he cut his twin with his blade sword, which he didn’t want to. And take the mask off. Or should he let him do it. He wouldn’t, even with the mask he wouldn’t. Was he trusting him too much? He was his twin of course he did.

So he made a sigil with his name that throw him blasts. Which let Lucifer free. So he took advantage of it. And un-do the spell, and punched Michael’s mask with a tiny blast to make sure. He saw his real Michael behind. And punched it again shattering the mask this time. He stared at his twin brother with shining eyes with tears. Guilt was eating him. But he had to.

Then he saw Michael passing out. He took a deep breath. And looked at one of Vox’s drones. He smiled for the last time with the blood covered face. A smile that meant a lot. And he passed out right after. Covered with cuts and bruises made by his twin brother. He sacrificed his life for the ones that tried to kill him… but it was okay. He did it to safe his brother and his people

Vox zaps down from the drone immediately, landing next to the angel and his fallen twin.

"Fucking goddamn angels and their goddamn masks," he kneels next to Lucifer first, checking his throat hastily, which bothered him the most. Fortunately, Michael didn't slit King of Hell's artery before getting his mask knocked off him. A wound on that place with angelic steel would mean death for sure. Now, while Lucifer is covered in bruises and cuts and golden blood, Vox refuses to panic in advance, even though his heart does miss a bit at how immobile Lucifer is.

"Okay," he whispers to himself, taking his own coat off and slicing it into thin cloth stripes, then bandaging the wounds, binding the cloth harshly in places where the wounds are deeper to prevent Lucifer bleeding out completely. "Okay, okay."

He kicks out the weapon out of Michael's hand. He doesn't have any angelic binds, and he isn't sure that touching that particular blade is safe. For a moment he wonders if he should risk it and plunge it right into Michael's heart - in case it wasn't a mask after all.

But it most likely was the mask. And the weapon that transforms itself is most likely that famous sword of his. He cannot leave Michael lie in the street on his own either. Someone could try to use opportunity to strike him down, and, even if Michael deserves it, Vox feels like they've drank too much whiskey together by now not to give an angel any grace.

The bandages on Lucifer go golden quickly, and Vox decides.

He calls Lilith. "My Queen," he says quietly, "If you have any remedies or any spells to stop the bleeding from the angelic weapons, you might want to bring them to the square in front of your palace. Lucifer defeated Michael, broke the mask, but... but he is severely wounded, and I am no healer."

There was some buzzing sounding from afar. Her phone was sounding. Someone was calling.

She was on her bed. Not the bed of the hotel, but the one from the Morningstar's Palace.

But hadn't it been on fire just minutes ago?

No. That fire was blue. It must have been a nightmare.

After all, Michael swore to never kill again.

That must be a nightmare caused by her trauma.

Otherwise, how could she be on her bed after passing out from seeing the blue angelic fire consuming her home?

Lilith answered the phone and she was suddenly very, very awake.

It had not been a nightmare.

Lucifer must have teleported there, somehow, after seeing her passed out. And then fought Michael to the death.

And she had somehow missed all of it.

"You are not taking my husband, you bitch ass God." Lilith swore under her breath as she searched for the aid box she had on hand from when Charlie or Lucifer or her were sick or injured.

She didn't remember a time when she had to use it on Lucifer, but there is always a moment for everything.

Lilith arrived next to Vox literally out of breath and shoved him aside in her hurry. "How are they?! Who needs healing first?!"

Both needed healing. Michael’s mask was shattered. And there was a little cut on his arm. Lucifer didn’t wanna hurt his twin brother, even though his twin wanted to. He would never.

But Lucifer. Letting Michael do whatever he wants on him. Not lending a single cut on him. He himself didn’t want to. So in the end, he was the one who was hurt… Again. He was bleeding everywhere… the scene was too familiar. He was so close to death this time.

His face was covered in blood, his wing was nearly sliced, his shoulder was cut, his palms were cut. The floor was golden from Lucifer’s blood. He nearly let his brother kill him with the sword. The place he pointed his sword on his neck was bleeding. Maybe if he didn’t make that sigil, it would be cut open.

Michael blinked his eyes open. Everything was blurry. All he could see was hells blood red sky which confused him. He didn’t remember going to hell. How was he there? what happened?

He looked down at what he was wearing. It was an exorcist uniform. Why was he wearing it? Michael had absolutely no idea, because he would never wear something like it.

His hands were covered with blood, gold and red mixed together, which meant one thing. He had hurt someone …. This unsettled him. What could have happened for him to draw blood?

Michael glanced to the side and saw Lucifer. He was bleeding. His heart started raising. “LUCIFER! No, no, no, no…. WHAT HAPPENED?! Did I do this?” He immediately went to his brother’s side not even noticing that Vox was there. Without thinking he placed his hand above one of the wounds. It started to glow with light. “Uuhh… I’ll fix this no … I HAVE to fix this…..” he said while tears fell from his eyes. The magic was working, slowly, but still it was working.

Even though Michael had no idea what was going on. He knew that he had do heal Lucifer before something happened.

Lucifer wasn’t moving. His wing was sliced to half. His shoulder had a deep cut from the axe. His palms were bleeding because of the sword. His face was bleeding from the hits Michael landed.

He wasn’t waking up. He wasn’t moving. His chest wasn’t even moving to let them know he was alive.

Michael’s heart was beating quickly. His light magic healed some of the wounds, but not the one on Lucifer’s wing. He didn’t know what to do. The tears were still silently falling.

The glow brightened and it seemed as though the blood form his face and hands was completely gone. That was the best he could do he wasn’t the archangel of heeling after all….

The golden blood from his face was gone. Not the injury. The blood wasn’t stopping. His hands were healed and his shoulder was better. But his wing had no luck. It was sliced, the only thing that was holding it was the veins and feathers.

He was still down. He didn’t let anything happen to his brother. But he let his brother do anything, that happened to him. Michael probably had small cuts, which Lucifer felt bad for. But Lucifer had big cuts, slice and bruises. His brother was awake, but he was nowhere awake. His brother was up fine. But he wasn’t even moving his chest.

Then he slowly approaches Michael from the side, carefully brushing the tips of his claws against archangel's shoulder.

"Do you have anyone in Heaven who can heal that?" he asks quietly. "Because I don't think we've learned it yet here - completely healing the angelic steel wounds."

He doesn't want to think about the fact that Pentagram City will turn into a flying shit storm the moment the King dies; that's when Satan and other Mortal Sins can try to claim the Pride Ring, and the Overlords, like himself, would need to fight back, and that all would be a fucking catastrophe. Well, of course, there is Lilith and Charlie, but who is loyal to them and who is not?

"Roo," Vox suddenly says. "If there is a single soul in Hell that knows how to fix that, it's her. Does any of you still have contact with her?"

Michael’s head is still spiraling. How could he do this? Had he not changed at all these past 10000 years? Or was he still the arrogant archangel who had ripped his own brothers wings off. He didn’t even feel the slight brush of Vox’s claws on his shoulder.

It took a bit to fully register what Vox had said. “I— she blocked me… I don’t really have a way to contract her. Maybe if I try hard enough I can heal heal him!”

Theoretically it was possible for Michael to heal Lucifer’s wounds, but it would take time and a lot of energy from him. Healing really wasn’t the archangel of wars specialty… but there was someone who had mastered it. the archangel of healing. (Who was also his little brother.)

“Raphael…” Michael muttered. “I need to call Raphael! He could fix this! How didn’t I think of this earlier!”

He hurriedly pulls up his phone and finds Raphael in his contact list. Please pick up, please pick up. He picked up.

“Her Raphael….” Michael said in a shaky voice. “I need you to come to hell as soon as possible. Drop everything, Samuel— LUCIFER needs you!”

After hearing his big brother’s shaky voice, which doesn’t happen often. He knew something was wrong. He didn’t flew to hell. He made a portal. The view was what he prayed not to see. A big brother with golden blood on his hands and weapon. And the other twin big brother, who was bleeding everywhere. He looked at Michael with disappointment and fear. He pushed Michael to the side, hands trembling.

His hands were still trembling. He healed the wound on Lucifer’s head, and stopped it from bleeding more. He took Lucifer’s jacket off, there was more cuts and wounds. He healed them one by one. And wrapped them. He took his shoulder and half way healed it. Wrapped it with a special wrap. If he healed it all the way, it might have different conclusions. Now it was time for the wing. His eye twitched again. His wing was barely holding on. He made a force shield around both of them. The force shield was filled with energy. Lucifer’s wing was back at it’s place again. But it was still broken. So Raphael made a special wrap. It was made from his own energy. But something was wrong.

My Samuel? Samuel… Samuel? LUCIFER!!!

He wasn’t waking up. Was there something different?? So Raphael made his sigil under Lucifer’s unmoving body. The sigil was spreading green light on Lucifer body. Slowly covering his entire body. The neon green eyes of Raphael turned back to normal and the sigil was gone.

Samuel? Raphael was about to touch Lucifer. He didn’t had to. Lucifer throw up golden blood and something black. Raphael started glowing green this time. And he pounced on Michael’s collar.

Michael felt a bit of relief after seeming Raphael heal Lucifer… well mostly. All the worry from his chest had left.

Vox uses his own screen to show Raphael everything - since the moment he, Vox, met Michael, and then - what his drones filmed; the ending of the fight with Lilith and the full fight with Lucifer.

"Maybe it was cursed?" there is a short shiver of disgust all over his body.

He's still a Sinner, Overlord or not, and he hates exorcist masks.

Vox shoots a glance in Lilith's direction. He is really worried; she seems almost catatonic, standing there in shock.

He had seen everything which had happened through Vox’s screen. Michael couldn’t believe it. He acted so horribly. He had killed sinners, chased Vox, attacked Lilith for no reason when she was trying to help and nearly killed his own twin.

Michael’s eyes widened as he looked around.

Lucifer was nearly dead, lying on the ground while Raphael was healing him. Lilith was there too and Michael knew about the altercation he’d had with her the , way he’d attacked her without hesitation. His gaze dropped to his hands.

“…I did this…I attacked all of you.”

He stared at his injured brother, completely devastated.

“I don’t remember everything clearly, but…I did this.” Michael’s expression twisted with guilt. “I’m sorry. I am so, so sorry.”

Michael obeyed Raphael’s orders. He kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples channeling the light magic from his essence into Lucifer. He was scared, like really frightened.

He stopped and smiled hopefully. He raised his head. But he wasn’t looking at Lucifer or Michael this time. He was looking at someone else.

It’s not us this time. We can’t do anything at this point. But she can. Lilith. You’re the most important piece of his mind. You’re the only one who can get in easily. You surround his mind. Not only his mind, but his heart too. So I want you to sing for him. We need you. He needs you.

Lilith 'woke up' due to the new angel's voice. Not like she was asleep, of course not, but she had been so deep in her own thoughts that she had barely payed attention to her surroundings.

She only could see Lucifer coughing up golden blood. She could only think of how she would make every single angel pay after this.

Lilith raised her head and started to sing, a love song, one that Lucifer knew very well. Lilith sang this song many times in the past. When they found out she was pregnant, when the Morningstar's Palace had finished building, when they had been in a particular excellent date...

It was their love song.

Yet this time, unlike the many others in the past, it sounded sorrow and bitter...

Michael had kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples like Raphael instructed. That’s what he was doing… following instructions because that was the best he could do, considering there was a mess in his mind.

His head was spinning he felt immense guilt for what he had done. Fuck you eve … why? Why did you have to curse me …. I didn’t do anything to you! If you really wanted revenge then why didn’t you just hurt me?! Why did you make me hurt him?…. These questions were coming up as fast as the silent tears on his face, which were caused by the worry towards Lucifer and the exhaustion he felt do to channeling so much of his magical energy at once.

He must wake Lucifer, he must survive… because if he doesn’t … neither will Michael. They are twins and he won’t lose his other half ever again. More light came from his hands and Lilith’s singing was working too. Slowly relief started washing over Michael. Is it really working? Well there was only one way to find out.

At the song, his mind was filled. Filled with the voice he loved hearing. The voice he can listen to, for eternity. That’s actually what he was going to do anyway. That’s the reason they were there. He half opened his and look at the source of the voice. He smiled at how beautiful she is.

Lilith stopped singing as soon as he heard his voice. It felt like she had not heard it in years, or decades.

"Lucifer...?" She caressed a lock of his hair, putting it behind an ear, without realizing a few of her tears were falling on him as well.

She had yet to realize she had been crying during all this time.

"Lucifer, my dear..." She whispered as she carefully incorporated him in a seated position, and then kissed him like if it had been their last.

Lucifer kissed her back. Even though he couldn’t lift his hand. He smiled into the kiss. A tear ran down his face.

What happened?? Did… did I made a mess? I swear I’ll clean it honey. Aaaaw WHO MADE YOU CRY!!

He said that knowing he can’t even lift a finger. He was awake okay. He was okay and awake but he wasn’t able move his upper body.

Lilith was barely listening to him, just hugging him so tightly that it was like she feared he would turn to dust if she let go.

"Do not ever do this to me again..." She nuzzled him, not realizing she had her cheeks wet from crying.

Then, she raised her head a little and glared at Raphael and Michael. It was a look of pure hate and betrayal. "So... You tried to exterminate my husband?"

Michael was blacking out. He was happy that Lucifer survived but knowing that he was the one who caused all of this really weighed down on his chest. Lilith’s words struck harder than a blade to his chest would. He did try to exterminate him, even though he didn’t remember.

“I-I don’t know what happened! I swear I remember nothing of what I did. I would have never done that with my free will! Why would I? Eve cursed me—“

He turned his head away not wanting anyone to see him cry.

"Excuses." Lilith narrowed her eyes at him, with pure hate on her gaze. She was clearly not listening to any of it.

Even though in her deepest part of her heart she knew the truth, her maddening anger was blocking those thoughts in favour of hating angels as an species altogether.

"I have been betrayed by your kind one too many times." Lilith let go of Lucifer (propping him against a wall) and stood up to stare down at both Raphael and Michael. "You like exterminations so much? How about you experience how they are first hand?" She asked, gathering so much magic in her hands, it should not be possible for a sinner.

It was clear she was pushing herself, but right now, it didn't bother her. She would end these angels, even if it finished herself, too.

Michael saw what she was doing and slowly stepped towards her. “Lilith… that will hurt you, more than it would hurt us … please think.” He paused for a moment trying to come up with a solution so she wouldn’t destroy herself in the process.

He gazed fell on the exorcist helmet he had worn. It was now broken in half but Roos corruption on its inside was visible. Maybe he could use that to prove to her he couldn’t control his own actions? It certainly was worth a try.

With some magic he summoned it in his hand and brought it closer to Lilith. Flipping it around to the inner side where the dark shadow coils and red particles were still visible. “Please , Lilith just look! This is Roos magic! It left a mark on the mask. Can’t you tell that she is the reason all of this happened? Just stop. Don’t hurt yourself because of me. Lucifer nearly died, if you end up hurting thanks to me … I’d…” he didn’t finish the sentence because they would have understood what he implied.

"NONSENSE." A blast of magic evaporated the mask shards on Michael's hand.

She was clearly not listening. Only one person may stop her rage now...

His tail wrapped around Lilith’s wrist. He had a face of betrayal from his brother, and fear of losing his wife.

Let Raphael go he probably tried to heal me. Your problem is with Roo who started it. My problem is with Michael who made this. He showed himself, by looking at his body. His upper body was still useless* The other angels probably don’t even know this happened. Don’t feel hatred towards Raguel, Gabriel and Uriel. I don’t know what to think. I feel betrayal and pain. If this extermination thing never started we wouldn’t be here. There wouldn’t be no mask. I should’ve never let it happen in the first place as the king. Your feelings are natural, and I can’t stop you from them.

Upon feeling Lucifer's tail wrapping around her arm, Lilith tensed up a little. It was clear she wanted to continue her rage, she wanted to hurt others the same way they had hurt Lucifer...

Yet she couldn't. Not when Lucifer himself was pleading her not to.

Lilith grasped at the tip of his tail as if she was holding his hand, and dropped off her arm, her magic dissipating in the air as if she did so.

She still stared at Michael and Raphael, her feelings of hate still not subsided at all.

When you repeatedly test the trust of a person, at some point, they stop trusting you at all. That was what had happened with Lilith and angels.

She kneeled down a little to the wall where Lucifer was leaning on. "Can you move, darling? Do you want me to carry you?"

At this point, Lilith just wanted to go home.

He screamed at Lilith out of panic. Then realized the queen was already angry enough on them.

Your majesty I know we just met. And I wish we met in a better way… maybe in one of Raguel’s tea parties. But I wanna apologize. I tried my best. I can’t fully heal his upper body. I don’t know how bad the impacts were, but the tissues on his veins were so fragile and thin I couldn’t touch them entirely. If we were in my lab I could’ve but we’re unfortunately not. I was so scared too coming here to this scenery again. I thought I lost my big brother this time. And the fact that this has been done from my other big brother doesn’t help my fear.

Raphael had tears in his eyes. He didn’t let them down. But his fast beating heart was making this difficult for him

Michael couldn’t even register what Raphael had said. After Lilith broke the mask into a million pieces he froze, not knowing what to do. And now the problem was taken care of, he knelt on the ground staring at the shadows curling around the remnants of the helmets.

He let his mind spiral, he thought about what happened how he hurt people and somehow didn’t remember… all because of Roo. The person he used to love the most was the one he hated now. The one whose throat he wanted to slit, for the reason that she nearly caused the death of her dear twin brother.

Hatred and a want for revenge sparked in Michael’s heart. But not only that… so did guilt…. For hurting Lucifer and Lilith, for calling box a filthy sinner and for killing a few dozen sinners.

“Fuck you roo …” he muttered.

That moment Roo wasn’t there physically, though her essence was carried through the shadows still clinging to the mask… or what was left of it. She widowed in Michael’s ear … something only he could hear.

“Michael…. See how they all hate you, for something you couldn’t even control? Do they even deserve someone as powerful and as kind as you? Or do they just use you when they need you?” The shadow tendril started wrapping around his arm.

“Lilith threw you under the bus, even though you gave her proof you weren’t at fault, Lucifer probably hates you too, so does Raphael…. I don’t know what to say about Vox but he is a nobody so I don’t care.”

Her voice paused for a bit as the shadow tendril went around his neck, not pulling or hurting him … just there. “Come on let me take control and I’ll make sure all the pain you feel disappears…”

Michael’s brow furrowed as the shadow wrapped around his neck . “Get out of my head roo…. He muttered.”

But what she said made him think. Could she be right? Maybe she was correct? Wouldn’t be the first time she was. Michael’s wings drooped as he was still kneeling. He was just about to say yes to Roos offer, when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

The shadow instantly disappeared as Michael stiffened to the sudden hug. But his hand hand moved up to caress Raphael’s cheek.

He sighed and said .” Okey Raphael… can we just um… go home? I have something I want to do… well I want to speak to someone… that’s all…”

He doesn’t have a regular voice in his head. It’s not trauma or something. He’s getting corrupted, again and again. First the mask, now his body. And that’s not a normal power any sinner can carry… it’s Roo, she probably corrupted the mask too. Roo is even more powerful than me. She’s the first evil in this world. Whatever these sinners did, started from her. Including the sinners themselves started from her. Even the angels. If she’s able to corrupt the first born of god, and make the archangel of war, lose a war. She’s not something and someone to be against.

So Michael. I know you, better than anyone. Don’t you dare make a reckless decision out of anger. You can’t fight her. Neither of us can. Go back to heaven. And don’t come back. You’re in danger here, you’re a danger here…

Lucifer was laying on his side. Leaning on his arm. He was giving all his energy to his brothers. And share the knowledge. He didn’t want any of his siblings down there. Especially Michael. He didn’t know how to feel towards him. But one thing’s for sure. He felt fear, he feared he might lose Michael forever there.

Lilith saw how Michael was getting corrupted once again and prepared herself to gather magic once again, yet Raphael was much quicker and effective, subsiding Michael's darkness in record time...for now.

She bit her lip on what she wanted to really say, because, after all, Michael was Lucifer's brother, and they still loved each other.... Even as Lucifer was still on the ground due to his injuries.

Instead, she said something she might regret later.

"Could we not...heal her? Roo, I mean. Her soul is completely corrupted due to the Original Sin, but... The real Eve must still exists, somewhere deep behind the darkness."

Unfortunately no your majesty. Even if the real eve used to exist. Corruption becomes a part of your soul and body after some time. And that after some time was 10000 years ago. If there’s anyone here who might uncorrupt her, it’s god. But I don’t think a man who doesn’t redeems his own son first, will uncorrupt his human.

One of Raphael’s wing was up protecting Michael from Lilith’s might. He wanted to get out of here. This hell… Wasn’t a place for an angel. Wasn’t a place for his brother. He should be up there with them.

Michael didn’t want to go and leave Lucifer without properly apologizing… but Raphael insisted so he followed.

He thought about what his brother said, how corruption sinks into a persons soul. The mask was off but was he really pure? Or was Roo just waiting for another moment to do this again….

Before leaving he went to Lucifer and knelt in front of him, giving him a soft hug without holding too mindful of his injuries. “I’m so sorry…” he whispered into his ear as a few tears soaked into his twins clothes. “I really am….”

If you love me. You’ll go to father straight. Don’t even think about saying “I’m fine”. And tell him everything that happened. Starting from the beginning. He will be mad at you for being near Roo. Lucifer didn’t hug Michael back. He was unable to lift his free wing since it was down. And he was leaning on his uninjured arm. But even if he was able to, would he hug him? He doesn’t know. But one things for sure. It all happened because he didn’t listen to anyone. And he was the result.

Michael stood silently on the edge of one of Hell’s tallest buildings, his figure outlined against the crimson sky. The wind tugged at the white cape draped over his shoulders, though he never seemed to notice.

His new exorcist uniform was immaculate, not touched by ash or blood. It was white, eon his chest there was an “M”, just like Adam’s robes which had an “A”.

Covering his face was his familiar exorcist mask. The blue grin spread across his face from ear to ear and the X which covered his right eye seemed to glow in the darkness of hell

He didn’t know it had changed. He didn’t know that Roo had secretly corrupted it, weaving her magic into its very core in an attempt to seize control of his mind. The spell had worked but not in the way she had intended.

Instead of turning Michael into her puppet, the corruption had awakened something far darker.

A bloodlust. A relentless instinct that surfaced the moment he came in contact with the mask.

Michael didn’t understand why his thoughts felt different. He didn’t question why his heart beat just a little faster whenever he looked over the city below. To him, it all felt… natural.

His grip tightened around his all powerful sword. His gaze slowly swept across the streets beneath him.

Empty.

Only abandoned roads and flickering neon signs.

“Come out, come out wherever you are… do any demons want to play.” He said and grinned wider waiting for unsuspecting sinners.

The silence only made the feeling inside him grow stronger. It burned in the back of his mind, urging him to move, to search, to hunt. He couldn’t explain it, nor did he try. Every passing second seemed to sharpen his senses further.

His wings slowly unfolded, each feather catching the red glow that bathed the city.

Michael took a single step closer to the edge of the rooftop. His eyes never stopped searching the streets, rooftops, alleyways… but there was nothing… at least for now. A faint breeze carried through the empty city, and Michael tilted his head, listening and waiting.

Someone would appear eventually. They always did and when that moment came… He would be ready.

Behind Michael a few of Roos red eyes blinked open… she saw everything.

“No…”

This wasn’t what she’d wanted. He wasn’t becoming the perfect puppet she’d envisioned.

Instead he stood there like a predator. The corruption had sunk deep into his mind, but rather than making him hers, it had awakened a ruthless bloodlust that drowned out everything else.

“Damn it…”

She had spent all this effort corrupting the mask, manipulating Lute into delivering it, all for this. She hadn’t wanted Michael to become some mindless hunter!

She wanted to speak through him, rule through him, and slowly take Heaven apart from the inside without anyone realizing what was happening. Michael was supposed to be her key to the Pearly Gates….

For a moment, she considered destroying the spell altogether. But no … it was better to see what would happen. After all it’s not every day the archangel of war takes on the job of an exorcist.

A thought crossed her mind. Lucifer should probably know that his brother is in hell to exterminate his people. Roo quickly got her phone and dialed a number. The moment he answered, she spoke in an unusually calm voice.

“Lucifer… you and Lilith should probably look out the window. …” With that she hang up and put her phone away. “I need to find Cain ….”she mumbled.

Michael walked through Hell in complete silence, now nearing the Entertainment District. Neon lights across the horns of his exorcist mask.

His sword had shape shifted into a quite beautiful battle spear. Its blade was already wet with sinner blood. Michael didn’t even glance at it.

His eyes remained fixed ahead. The corruption within the mask continued to twist his mind. He had no idea Roo was responsible. All he felt was the growing urge to keep searching.

To keep hunting.

He tightened his grip on the spear and continued to move forward.

"You do know this mask ticks me off, right?" Vox appears in front of him in a zap of lightning, skipping down from the camera. He noticed Michael before he came in for the kill, and missed that as he travelled through the wires. "If you wanted to attract my attention, you could have simply..."

He realizes that the spear in Michael's hand is covered in blood.

"... called," he ends slowly.

"Michael, did you just double-killed one of my souls?"

Michael didn’t answer immediately. He looked at Vox for a moment before his gaze drifted away. With the back of his hand he calmly wiped the blood from his chin.

Suddenly the visor of his mask glitched.

The blue grin, the X, even the electric blue glow disappeared and it blackened completely for just a moment. His hand twitched towards his face as if he wanted to rip the mask off but couldn’t. That was only for a moment.

Soon the glitching stopped and the visor returned to normal.

Michael slowly turned his head back toward Vox. Realized that he too was a sinner. His brain went into attack mode and the spear in his hand dissolved into white light reshaping itself back into the sword.

“…He was in my way.” His grip tightened around the hilt as the blue grin spread across his face again. “…And now … so are you.”

Vox knows this sword. Once Michael showed it to him.

But he also noticed the gesture, that jerk of the hand towards the mask; and the predatory blue grin doesn't seem like the Michael he knows.

Does he even know this angel? Or all he saw was a curated version of the archangel he is seeing in front of himself right now? Lucifer trembled before his older brother. He warned Vox, but Vox never saw Michael that menacing, archangel of war or not.

Vox zaps himself to the side, creating space between them, wary of the possible attacks.

"Now, that's no way to talk to a friend," Vox says, voice smooth and pacifying, "What got you so worked up this time, Michael?"

Michael’s grin fades at the word ‘friend’, like it seems foreign to him. “Friend?…” There was a hint of recognition when he looked at him, that was the reason why the archangel didn’t attack immediately. As if something stopped him from deep down.

“Why would I be friends with you? You’re a sinner… and I hate sinners ….” The grip on his sword tightened at the sight of more of them passing through. The only thing what went through his brain was …kill them… and that was what he would do… after dealing with whoever this was.

“You ask why I am worked up. I am not… I am only doing my job as archangel of war, exterminating these wretched pests for the good of heaven.” That was a lie. This wasn’t for heaven. It just felt like what he must do for the sake of killing them.He started to advance and move closer possibly getting ready to strike, the wide grin returning to his face. “You are between me and my objective … so …I’ll have to include you in my mission …”

Vox is backing away, slowly, very slowly.

"But exterminations are over," he responds softly. "What are you really doing down here, Mike?"

Michael moves closer - and Vox zaps away to another roof. He does not attack, but doesn't run away completely, remaining in Michael's sight. His eyes and drones watch the archangel intently. He thinks for a moment about involving Alastor, but remembers a deep scar on his chest.

"To include me in your mission you need to catch me," he smirks, feeling the adrenaline rush in his veins.

Zapping away, switching directions, but always staying in Michael's sight, teasing, Vox slowly tries to lure Michael out of the Entertainment district and closer to Morningstar's palace. At least from there he will be able to pass this problem on to Lucifer himself.

His ratings are too low to allow his souls to die.

“All that pride… and you’re still running... Really I thought this would be harder. You are just filth wearing a smile.” Michael said loudly so he could hear.

His mask glitched again this time it reverted back in a few seconds. He turned his attention back to Vox catching on to what he was doing and deciding to play along.

“You are wasting time,” he said at last, his voice flat.

By the time Michael was already at the edge of the entertainment district his sword had already been covered in red. He didn’t pause, didn’t even acknowledge what he’d done. ( which was quite unusual for Michael because he isn’t just a mindless hunter) His eyes remained fixed on Vox.

His patience had worn thin. With that blue fire started to wrap around him and in a blink of an eye Michael vanished. He appeared on a rooftop a few felt away from where Vox was standing.

“I am growing tired of this! stop running!” It was obvious that Vox was managing to get under Michael’s skin. At this point he had thought of calling over one or two of his girls (exorcists), maybe even Lute, but he brushed the thought away not wanting them to get hurt. After all hell knew how to kill exorcists and Michael didn’t want to take any chances.

"Oh, but I don't want to die, why should I stop?" Vox moves back carefully, eyes on the sword and its owner. "Tell me, archangel of war, what is your objective? To kill everyone here? Why? Aren't we powerless against someone like you?"

Michael suddenly appears right in front of him, and Vox immediately zaps again. The role of the mouse in the game of cat and mouse is new to him, but he knows the game very well anyways. And he's one smart mouse.

He moves away, almost letting Michael catch himself, but this turns very dangerous very fast; Michael always has short temper, and now that short temper turns him even more murderous.

So the moment they are in the proximity of Morningstar's palace, Vox throws a lightning into Lucifer's window, shattering it.

"LUCI, GO DEAL WITH YOUR INSANE BROTHER, I THINK HIS MASK IS CURSED OR SOMETHING!" he shouts, and then turns into electricity and zaps away through the surveillance camera as fast as possible, fleeing the battlefield.

He is no coward, but he isn't stupid either.

The question caught Michael off guard because he didn’t really have an answer to that. He just wanted to kill sinners, like there was a voice inside him commanding him to do this. “Stop playing!” He finally shouted. “I’m doing this because it’s necessary! Adam had a reason for the extermination and now I’m continuing what he started!”

The sword in his hand shapes into a bow and arrow as he flys after Vox from above. He shoots one it barely misses and erupts into blue fire. He shot another, then another and another. It was clear that he hadn’t intended this to go on for so long. Let’s just say Vox wasn’t an easy kill.

Michael chased him till Lucifer’s palace. He looks around and realizes where he is. “YOU FUCKIN TRICKED ME MORON!”

He tries to hatch him but it’s too late he had already zapped away.

"Fucking Lucifer... When I trap him, I'm gonna make sure he won't be able to walk in a week." Lilith grumbled from under her breath as she walked down the aisles of the Morningstar's Palace.

Lucifer had trapped her inside so she does not get herself involved with Michael. However...

A loud noise of shattering glass raised her from her thoughts. "What the–?!" She yelled out, as she ran to the source...

Michael was still a little bit irritated by not being able to catch Vox. He was thinking of where to go next when he was he sister in law, Lilith.

He generally had a good relationship with her but with this mask on he had forgotten every good memory of her, only remembering the bad… not only that another thought went through his head.

Lilith was a sinner…. The first one…

And right now he wanted nothing more than to kill every single last one of them.

His grip on the sword tightened. (By now the bow and arrow changed back into the sword) it was still a bit dirty with the dried sinner blood. Michael glanced at Lilith again and disappeared in a puff of blue fire.

But he wasn’t gone…. Not yet…

Lilith ran to where Michael had been standing on, trying to get close to him and actually talk face to face (or face to mask), but he had already disappeared.

"Fucking Roo... What did you do?..." She looked around. "Michael! Michael, if you can hear me! I just want to talk! We don't have to fight! No one has to get hurt!"

Of course, she had not realized Michael had already hurt someone...

Michael appeared a few feet away from her. Sword ready in case she tried to do anything. He was ready to hurt her. She could probably see the already dried blood on it, but honestly? He didn’t even care. It’s not like he was hiding it.

“What is it?” He said flatly looking at her through the mask, which had an X over his right eye and was giving off an electric blue glow.

The urge to kill her was still there, but the mask didn’t make him stupid. He thought it would be better to hear what she had to say.

"Michael..." Lilith looked at him with her hands up. She noticed the blood on his sword already. "You killed someone, right?... It's okay, you can still repent. Listen. Put the sword down. Sinners are not at fault. They don't deserve to be exterminated...

Michael looked at Lilith and then back at his sword. The blue grin on his face widened and he said. “You were never my family…” he might not have ment it because he didn’t really remember anything of her, but it still would have hurt.

He didn’t put his sword down, only raised it higher. Now it was fully drawn. “No! I won’t put it down. I’m only doing my job, which was long overdue. Your kind deserves to die.” When he said this his mask slightly glitched again going black for just a moment and Michael’s hand flew to its surface, like he wanted to take it off but couldn’t. It slowly lit up again and that little spark of vulnerability was completely gone. “… now … we’re was I?”

She saw the flicker on his mask, the hesitation, Roo has told her that she had done something to Michael that had corrupted him...

It was obvious. All the signs pointed at the mask being the source of all his anger, his negative emotions, his desire to draw blood.

"Alright, Michael... I am just going to get close...." She gave a few steps towards him, with her hands up in the air.

"I am not going to sing, trust me..."

She got close enough to be able to whisper in his ear. "It will only take a moment..."

And she put her fingers in the inside of the mask, intending to violently rip it off.

Michael didn’t like that Lilith had come close, but for some reason he let her. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to do anything to actually hurt him.

When Adam had made that mask for him, Michael had it stuck for a few hours, because he simply couldn’t figure out. He had later found out from Adam that exorcist masks have a locking mechanism so the helmet doesn’t fall off during battle. It was simply impossible for anyone who wasn’t an exorcist to know how to unlock it.

As soon as he felt the grip on his mask, he immediately knew what she was trying to do. With a fluid motion of his hand he shoved her away. “Oh, you think you’re smart huh? Well… let’s see how that goes for you…”

He grabbed his sword which he had dropped, but during this moment he turned his back from her, giving her a chance to strike if needed. He didn’t worry though. Because to him Lilith was just a small inconvenience.

"Tch... Fucking Adam..." Lilith whispered, and she felt the small shove Michael did to put her away.

... He had turned around. Lilith was sure now that there was still some kind of conscience left of Michael down there who didn't want to hurt her.

He had just given her a chance.

With a swift singing, a partiture appeared out of thin air, and it started wrapping tightly around Michael's body, like if it were made of steel.

Lilith got close once again, starting to mess around with the lock on his mask.

"Don't worry, sweetie. Adam and I are made out of the same mold. Everything he can do, I can do as well. I'll figure it out. Somehow."

Michael felt the steel like strand wrapping around. By then he had already reached his sword. Using it he cut through the band. He snarled. “Worry? I don’t worry and I am certainly not worried of you doing anything.”

He flew to one of the higher towers of the palace and perched on a railing. His sword shifted and turned into a bow and arrow.

“Try this on for size, and don’t worry sweetheart if I miss whatever this will hit will erupt in my blue flames.”With a flick of his hand the magical arrow went flying straight towards Lilith.

Lilith let out a gasp and summoned a partiture that thankfully protected her, but the arrow still hit the floor.

The floor started to get wrapped in blue flames. "Oh, no, no, no, no!"

"Michael! Stop this!" Lilith coughed a bit because of the smoke.

Michael crossed his arms and laughed. “Stop it? Hmmm… let me think about it… NO!” He said as he watch how Lilith was trapped in a circle of holy fire.

For a moment he felt worry rise in his chest as if he didn’t want her to get hurt for some reason. This was weird because she was still a sinner and he was the one who had the urge to annihilate every single one of those filthy creatures.

While thinking of this he unknowingly made the flames smaller. Not completely gone, but definitely not out of control as they were before. “Tch, you aren’t worth it… “ he said when he had finally brushed the worries away. With a flick of this wings he flew above the palace and started circling it in the air, waiting for Lucifer.

Lucifer flew through a window and went out the other holding his brother. He got them out of the palace. He made a giant portal, making the palace disappear. Lucifer landed in front of his twin with very angry eyes. His eyes were full red out of anger.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THEM???

If you wanna deal with a sinner, demon, deal with the biggest one. I’m the devil. Deal with me. Not them.

Lucifer literally dared Michael to attack him. Forcing him into another battle. He knew he wasn’t going to even slice a paper cut on his arm. He would never hurt Michael. But Michael look’s like he would. So he opened his arms to tell him “come on here”

Michael looked at Lucifer. He didn’t have an urge to hurt him, because his hatred was only towards sinners and his twin was an angel.

But he didn’t hesitate when Lucifer stood in his way, his masked gaze locked onto him. At that moment he wanted to get rid of the obstacle in his way. It meant nothing that Lucifer was his brother.

He looked at his sword as it started to glow brighter and brighter with heavens light. Michael positioned his hand above it and fired a concentrated light blast towards Lucifer.

“Interference detected…. You should have stayed in your place demon!”

He calmly turned to his side dodging the blast. So it’s going to be like that? He wants violence. He get’s violence. He took his golden electric blade spear sword. Even though he wasn’t going to use it on Michael. Michael will use his on him. So he better keep it.

No. I’m right here Michael. I’m not a demon, I’m the king of demons. Now. I have to protect my people from you.

He held his weapon towards Michael. Showing him clearly he’s talking about Michael and challenging him.

It’s either I stop you. Or you stop and go back to heaven, to never come back. Touching NO! sinner. The choice is yours

Michael looked at Lucifer.

“Alright, I’ll leave…”

His blue grin widened as he disappeared in a puff of blue flames. It seemed as so he really had left. For a full 15 minutes there was nothing

But he returned and charged at Lucifer knocking out the lighting blade from his hand, while stringing with his. As soon as he landed a strike his sword shaped into a beautiful battle axe, which had a cross in the middle where the two blades joined.

Michael spun it around and charged at Lucifer full full speed. The mask may have corrupted him but he was still the great fighter he always was.

“Just so you know I didn’t want to hurt you. You brought this on yourself when you challenged me.”

Another swing. “Don’t forget hell is forever…”

I didn’t wanna challenge you either but… but you brought this upon yourself too. You’re not hurting my sinners. Just as I’m not hurting your winners.

He knew it. He knew Michael would never go, so he waited. Waited for him to jump on him. And just like he predicted, he did. Even though he knew, he didn’t do anything. But the air was knocked out of his lungs.

Lucifer kicked Michael off of him. Throwing him to the other side of the garden. And get up getting his blade back. His breath was still knocked out. But he held his sword blade towards Michael, waiting for his next move.

Michael caught his balance and never reached the brother, he flew towards his brother the ace changed back into a sword. He struck again this time targeting one of Lucifer’s wings.

“You know. I don’t really understand why you are tying to protect them. They disrespect you and d ok not acknowledge your authority.” He landed another perfect hit while dodging Lucifer’s.

Michael drew another concentrated beam of light from his sword aimed it at Lucifer and said. “I’m doing this for the good of heaven.”

His axe hit his shoulder. Which made his eyes turn red again. He aimed at Michael’s arm which landed perfectly. He stopped for a second regretting and feeling guilty. But he shook his head and came back to his senses.

Well if HELL IS FOREVER! Than even though they don’t like me and disrespect me. I still have to protect them. LOOK AT ME MICHAEL!!! This is not the good for heaven! Or hell! Demons will hate and attack heaven again. With stronger hatred. Heaven wanted the good and they kicked their own archangel. For what? Loving a mortal! Heaven has no good!!!

He was dodging every hit Michael was trying to land. He took Michael’s sword from the sharp side. Making his palms bleed, and throw him outside of palace gardens. Away from the palace. He could care less about his pain right now.

Michael. Looked at what he had done to Lucifer. Guilt rose in his chest the mask started glitching again, like the real Michael was trying to stop this. Deep down he felt more pain then Lucifer, because he was doing something he vowed to never do again.

Hurt his blood.

“Lucifer… take —“ the mask turned back to normal and Michael continued fighting. His sword shaped into a bow and arrow. He shot wt Lucifer the arrows erupting in blue fire.

“Heaven is good, heaven is righteous, you are only saying this because you failed to meet their expectations! You disobeyed and got punished for it! Don’t act like some victim!”

With that he fired another blast this time much stronger.

He dodged every single arrow flying around. His hands were bleeding covering the floor with golden drops. He landed hard on the floor, right in front of Michael’s face. Making a big crack.

If you fail because of a small mistake that will hurt no one! Not even giving a second chance. And get punished for it. Than heaven failed.

Lucifer saw something wrong with the mask. So he punched it. He hates… no despises that mask. Making his brother force to do bad things, making exorcist, wars to hell, taking souls just because why? Just because they can. Lucifer stopped for a second to test something as he saw a little crack in his brother.

Michael moved away from Lucifer. He was angry because his twin discovered that the mask was the problem. He saw the blood. His little brothers golden blood. His twin was bleeding while he himself was mostly untacked with only minor scratches.

His mask flickered again. “T-t-take it off—“ the mask turned back and Michael switched back into the ruthless hunter. He wracked Lucifer pinning him to the ground and resting his sword above his throat. “I’m winning…”

Lucifer was in between. Should he cut his twin with his blade sword, which he didn’t want to. And take the mask off. Or should he let him do it. He wouldn’t, even with the mask he wouldn’t. Was he trusting him too much? He was his twin of course he did.

So he made a sigil with his name that throw him blasts. Which let Lucifer free. So he took advantage of it. And un-do the spell, and punched Michael’s mask with a tiny blast to make sure. He saw his real Michael behind. And punched it again shattering the mask this time. He stared at his twin brother with shining eyes with tears. Guilt was eating him. But he had to.

Then he saw Michael passing out. He took a deep breath. And looked at one of Vox’s drones. He smiled for the last time with the blood covered face. A smile that meant a lot. And he passed out right after. Covered with cuts and bruises made by his twin brother. He sacrificed his life for the ones that tried to kill him… but it was okay. He did it to safe his brother and his people

Vox zaps down from the drone immediately, landing next to the angel and his fallen twin.

"Fucking goddamn angels and their goddamn masks," he kneels next to Lucifer first, checking his throat hastily, which bothered him the most. Fortunately, Michael didn't slit King of Hell's artery before getting his mask knocked off him. A wound on that place with angelic steel would mean death for sure. Now, while Lucifer is covered in bruises and cuts and golden blood, Vox refuses to panic in advance, even though his heart does miss a bit at how immobile Lucifer is.

"Okay," he whispers to himself, taking his own coat off and slicing it into thin cloth stripes, then bandaging the wounds, binding the cloth harshly in places where the wounds are deeper to prevent Lucifer bleeding out completely. "Okay, okay."

He kicks out the weapon out of Michael's hand. He doesn't have any angelic binds, and he isn't sure that touching that particular blade is safe. For a moment he wonders if he should risk it and plunge it right into Michael's heart - in case it wasn't a mask after all.

But it most likely was the mask. And the weapon that transforms itself is most likely that famous sword of his. He cannot leave Michael lie in the street on his own either. Someone could try to use opportunity to strike him down, and, even if Michael deserves it, Vox feels like they've drank too much whiskey together by now not to give an angel any grace.

The bandages on Lucifer go golden quickly, and Vox decides.

He calls Lilith. "My Queen," he says quietly, "If you have any remedies or any spells to stop the bleeding from the angelic weapons, you might want to bring them to the square in front of your palace. Lucifer defeated Michael, broke the mask, but... but he is severely wounded, and I am no healer."

There was some buzzing sounding from afar. Her phone was sounding. Someone was calling.

She was on her bed. Not the bed of the hotel, but the one from the Morningstar's Palace.

But hadn't it been on fire just minutes ago?

No. That fire was blue. It must have been a nightmare.

After all, Michael swore to never kill again.

That must be a nightmare caused by her trauma.

Otherwise, how could she be on her bed after passing out from seeing the blue angelic fire consuming her home?

Lilith answered the phone and she was suddenly very, very awake.

It had not been a nightmare.

Lucifer must have teleported there, somehow, after seeing her passed out. And then fought Michael to the death.

And she had somehow missed all of it.

Goddammit. Goddammit, Lilith. Goddammit, Lucifer. Goddammit, Michael. Goddammit, GOD.

"You are not taking my husband, you bitch ass God." Lilith swore under her breath as she searched for the aid box she had on hand from when Charlie or Lucifer or her were sick or injured.

She didn't remember a time when she had to use it on Lucifer, but there is always a moment for everything.

Lilith arrived next to Vox literally out of breath and shoved him aside in her hurry. "How are they?! Who needs healing first?!"

Both needed healing. Michael’s mask was shattered. And there was a little cut on his arm. Lucifer didn’t wanna hurt his twin brother, even though his twin wanted to. He would never.

But Lucifer. Letting Michael do whatever he wants on him. Not lending a single cut on him. He himself didn’t want to. So in the end, he was the one who was hurt… Again. He was bleeding everywhere… the scene was too familiar. He was so close to death this time.

His face was covered in blood, his wing was nearly sliced, his shoulder was cut, his palms were cut. The floor was golden from Lucifer’s blood. He nearly let his brother kill him with the sword. The place he pointed his sword on his neck was bleeding. Maybe if he didn’t make that sigil, it would be cut open.

Michael blinked his eyes open. Everything was blurry. All he could see was hells blood red sky which confused him. He didn’t remember going to hell. How was he there? what happened?

He looked down at what he was wearing. It was an exorcist uniform. Why was he wearing it? Michael had absolutely no idea, because he would never wear something like it.

His hands were covered with blood, gold and red mixed together, which meant one thing. He had hurt someone …. This unsettled him. What could have happened for him to draw blood?

Michael glanced to the side and saw Lucifer. He was bleeding. His heart started raising. “LUCIFER! No, no, no, no…. WHAT HAPPENED?! Did I do this?” He immediately went to his brother’s side not even noticing that Vox was there. Without thinking he placed his hand above one of the wounds. It started to glow with light. “Uuhh… I’ll fix this no … I HAVE to fix this…..” he said while tears fell from his eyes. The magic was working, slowly, but still it was working.

Even though Michael had no idea what was going on. He knew that he had do heal Lucifer before something happened.

Lucifer wasn’t moving. His wing was sliced to half. His shoulder had a deep cut from the axe. His palms were bleeding because of the sword. His face was bleeding from the hits Michael landed.

But most importantly and scary thing was, he had a cut on his neck it was small. But little golden droplets were coming.

He wasn’t waking up. He wasn’t moving. His chest wasn’t even moving to let them know he was alive.

Michael’s heart was beating quickly. His light magic healed some of the wounds, but not the one on Lucifer’s wing. He didn’t know what to do. The tears were still silently falling.

“No, no no no no…. Not again…. Please Lucifer wake up!”

The glow brightened and it seemed as though the blood form his face and hands was completely gone. That was the best he could do he wasn’t the archangel of heeling after all….

The golden blood from his face was gone. Not the injury. The blood wasn’t stopping. His hands were healed and his shoulder was better. But his wing had no luck. It was sliced, the only thing that was holding it was the veins and feathers.

He was still down. He didn’t let anything happen to his brother. But he let his brother do anything, that happened to him. Michael probably had small cuts, which Lucifer felt bad for. But Lucifer had big cuts, slice and bruises. His brother was awake, but he was nowhere awake. His brother was up fine. But he wasn’t even moving his chest.

Vox shakes his head at Lilith:

"Your husband needs it more, I'm afraid."

Then he slowly approaches Michael from the side, carefully brushing the tips of his claws against archangel's shoulder.

"Do you have anyone in Heaven who can heal that?" he asks quietly. "Because I don't think we've learned it yet here - completely healing the angelic steel wounds."

He doesn't want to think about the fact that Pentagram City will turn into a flying shit storm the moment the King dies; that's when Satan and other Mortal Sins can try to claim the Pride Ring, and the Overlords, like himself, would need to fight back, and that all would be a fucking catastrophe. Well, of course, there is Lilith and Charlie, but who is loyal to them and who is not?

"Roo," Vox suddenly says. "If there is a single soul in Hell that knows how to fix that, it's her. Does any of you still have contact with her?"

Michael’s head is still spiraling. How could he do this? Had he not changed at all these past 10000 years? Or was he still the arrogant archangel who had ripped his own brothers wings off. He didn’t even feel the slight brush of Vox’s claws on his shoulder.

It took a bit to fully register what Vox had said. “I— she blocked me… I don’t really have a way to contract her. Maybe if I try hard enough I can heal heal him!”

Theoretically it was possible for Michael to heal Lucifer’s wounds, but it would take time and a lot of energy from him. Healing really wasn’t the archangel of wars specialty… but there was someone who had mastered it. the archangel of healing. (Who was also his little brother.)

“Raphael…” Michael muttered. “I need to call Raphael! He could fix this! How didn’t I think of this earlier!”

He hurriedly pulls up his phone and finds Raphael in his contact list. Please pick up, please pick up. He picked up.

“Her Raphael….” Michael said in a shaky voice. “I need you to come to hell as soon as possible. Drop everything, Samuel— LUCIFER needs you!”

After hearing his big brother’s shaky voice, which doesn’t happen often. He knew something was wrong. He didn’t flew to hell. He made a portal. The view was what he prayed not to see. A big brother with golden blood on his hands and weapon. And the other twin big brother, who was bleeding everywhere. He looked at Michael with disappointment and fear. He pushed Michael to the side, hands trembling.

WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME!!! He’s barely breathing. MICHAEL SAY SOMETHING!!!

He was so scared. He usually doesn’t get scared seeing open parts of bodies and things. But this time, this view remind him of 10000 years back.

Okay, okay. Please come back brother. Okay Raphael. You can do this. Only you can.

His hands were still trembling. He healed the wound on Lucifer’s head, and stopped it from bleeding more. He took Lucifer’s jacket off, there was more cuts and wounds. He healed them one by one. And wrapped them. He took his shoulder and half way healed it. Wrapped it with a special wrap. If he healed it all the way, it might have different conclusions. Now it was time for the wing. His eye twitched again. His wing was barely holding on. He made a force shield around both of them. The force shield was filled with energy. Lucifer’s wing was back at it’s place again. But it was still broken. So Raphael made a special wrap. It was made from his own energy. But something was wrong.

My Samuel? Samuel… Samuel? LUCIFER!!!

He wasn’t waking up. Was there something different?? So Raphael made his sigil under Lucifer’s unmoving body. The sigil was spreading green light on Lucifer body. Slowly covering his entire body. The neon green eyes of Raphael turned back to normal and the sigil was gone.

Samuel? Raphael was about to touch Lucifer. He didn’t had to. Lucifer throw up golden blood and something black. Raphael started glowing green this time. And he pounced on Michael’s collar.

Michael felt a bit of relief after seeming Raphael heal Lucifer… well mostly. All the worry from his chest had left.

He didn’t react to Raphael’s punch in the neck just said. “I don’t know what happened…. I don’t remember anything… all I know is that I hurt him… it’s like I blacked out or something. I wish I could tell you I really do Raph but I just don’t know!” He quieted for a bit then added. “I’m sorry…”

Raphael pushed Michael from his collar. He took a deep breath. He has to be cold blooded at these times. Have a calm mind. So he can help.

Raphael pulled Michael to himself, and put his palm over Michael’s forehead. Trying to feel or see what happened before all these things. But he pushed Michael again. With a worried and frustrated face.

I’m Raphael the archangel of healing. I can’t believe I’m saying this… I can’t see or feel your memories. This isn’t just normal memory loss you get when you are knocked out. This is dark magic. Strong enough that it was able to affect you. I- I can’t heal you my Michael.

The guilt and failure Raphael felt made his eyes fill with tears. Tears he refused to let down… There must be a way.

"He wore an exorcist mask," Vox points to the rests of the mask, uselessly scattered on the ground. "It glitched. He had this... ah, why am I spending words on that. Watch."

Vox uses his own screen to show Raphael everything - since the moment he, Vox, met Michael, and then - what his drones filmed; the ending of the fight with Lilith and the full fight with Lucifer.

"Maybe it was cursed?" there is a short shiver of disgust all over his body.

He's still a Sinner, Overlord or not, and he hates exorcist masks.

Vox shoots a glance in Lilith's direction. He is really worried; she seems almost catatonic, standing there in shock.

Lilith was barely registering what was happening around her.

There was blood. Her husband's blood. A lot of blood.

Her husband was dying.

Lucifer was dying.

Was this possible? Could this be possible? Was she still in an awful nightmare she could not wake up to?

Who had hurt him?

She remembered some feathers. Angels feathers.

Why? Why has Heaven hurt her husband?

Lucifer is going to die if you don't do something, Lilith, get a grip.

There were angel feathers around her, somehow. (Michael and a new angel, Raphael, but she wasn't able to figure out this).

Were they the ones that had hurt her husband like this?

Maybe.

Probably.

Surely.

Heaven did this.

As always, Heaven was at fault of breaking her family apart.

Not anymore.

Heaven will pay.

(Meanwhile, from an outsider's point of view, Lilith was not reacting for anything they were saying or asking...)

The corruption was gone, and the mask lay discarded nearby, cracked and ruined.

He had seen everything which had happened through Vox’s screen. Michael couldn’t believe it. He acted so horribly. He had killed sinners, chased Vox, attacked Lilith for no reason when she was trying to help and nearly killed his own twin.

Michael’s eyes widened as he looked around.

Lucifer was nearly dead, lying on the ground while Raphael was healing him. Lilith was there too and Michael knew about the altercation he’d had with her the , way he’d attacked her without hesitation. His gaze dropped to his hands.

“…I did this…I attacked all of you.”

He stared at his injured brother, completely devastated.

“I don’t remember everything clearly, but…I did this.” Michael’s expression twisted with guilt. “I’m sorry. I am so, so sorry.”

Well now you know, those who wear that mask are massacrers. You made them to do that. You saw what they do with your view now. You felt how it feels. You know what it cause.

Raphael never liked exorcists. He hated them. Especially for the reasons they take lives. Lives that doesn’t do anything bad to them. He always wanted to ask him, what he would do if that were to happen to his angels. I guess it was the time. He didn’t even raised his head off of his big brother, while asking.

Do you understand what they do now? Do you understand the lives they took? Do you understand what you agreed on? You’re “besties” with their leader. And he’s worst. Imagine you just killed a kid, an elder or a pet. A PET!!! What are you gonna do? When you go back? act like nothing happened. And keep exorcists.

The last question caught Michael off guard. “What am I gonna do? You expect me to what ? Get rid of the exorcists?! They are practically my children! They came from me!”

He didn’t continue with that argument just sat down next to Raphael and said. “If you need more light energy to heal him I can give some of mine….”

That’s was the least he could do after all he was the one who had caused all of this.

Raphael didn’t even listen to what he said. He just took in “practically my children”. Raphael rolled his eyes. And patted the ground next to him. Silently asking Michael to sit next to him. He didn’t wanna lose his concentration.

Sit.

He pulled Michael behind Lucifer’s head. And showed him how to move and what to do.

Concentrate on his mind. His deepest parts of mind. And try to wake it. It’s easy to deceive the body. But it’s not easy to deal with the mind. So I’ll help you. Put your hands on his temples.

Michael sat down next to Raphael and placed his fingertips on Lucifer’s temples and started concentrating. He focused on Lucifer’s mind, he was trying to wake him up, to heal him, while Raphael was focused on his physical injuries.

“I can feel him …” Michael muttered.

Raphael re-made his sigil on the ground. Under Lucifer again. They didn’t know if Lucifer was gonna wake up. In some cases Raphael saw some that doesn’t wake up. So he wanted Michael’s help. Lucifer is an archangel so he should be able to

It’s not enough to feel him. You have to wake it. Think of it like a body. It’s there you can feel it, but it’s not awake. So that doesn’t mean it’s good or bad. You have to make sure he wakes up.

Michael concentrated really, really heard trying to reach into Lucifer’s mind and wake him up. Swat was dripping from his forehead and his muscles were tense.

Please, please, please wake up Lucifer…. The thought repeated in his head, until his hands and eyes both started to glow write.

Lucifer slowly opened his eyes, everything was blury. But green light were everywhere. When his vision unblured he saw his little brother, working hard. He smiled a little looking at Raphael’s concentrated face.

Then he looked up to see Michael. Holding his head. No words came out but the look on his face had a voice. He was looking dead at Michael. With no emotions. What was he to feel?

Michael’s eyes widened and he took his hands off Lucifer’s head. “RAPHAEL LOOK LOOK HE WOKE UP!” He grabbed Raphael’s free hand from happiness that his brother was finally up.

Lucifer’s eyes started closing again. It was the effect of letting their concentration and energy go. It was like closing a phone while you’re in the middle of updating something.

Michael immediately started panicking and placed his hands back on Lucifer waiting for him to wake up. Fuck you Michael why are you so stupid sometimes? He thought as he silently hoped Lucifer would wake up.

Lucifer indeed “woke up” his eyes opened back. He was looking dead. But he was looking around at first. As he looked at Michael a headache hit him, and he started coughing.

Let him, don’t let go of his temples. Stay calm. He might throw up. Stay

Raphael’s calm but demanding voice was going to him. He heard, he hears but he can’t think or respond. And just like Raphael said Lucifer did throw up. It was golden. It was mixed with his blood.

Don’t let go. It’s normal. It’s fine. You’re not doing anything wrong. Keep going. You’re doing good big brother

Michael obeyed Raphael’s orders. He kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples channeling the light magic from his essence into Lucifer. He was scared, like really frightened.

“Raphael… you sure I’m doing this correctly he threw up blood.” That part made him want to stop but since Raphael told him to continue he did, after all he was a licensed doctor while Michael wasn’t.

I caused this… this is my fault, whether it was with my free will or not. He thought.

The blood is not coming from his head my Michael. It’s internal. I can feel it. It’s pretty damaged. I don’t know how much force you used. But he’s pretty damaged inside. So it’s normal. Even if he does throw up blood, I’m healing him.

Raphael then realizes. He never asked how his big brother was. Outside he looked fine. Than he looked at his other big brother on the floor. Without taking his hands off he asked.

Are you alright big brother? You seem alright physically. But do you need any help… other than that little slice?

Michael looks at Raphael and says. “I’m fine …. “ he was not fine. Everything was falling apart from inside him and he didn’t know what to do. He felt like an absolutemonster after all he was the one who hurt his own twin… again. He may not have done it with his free will but does it even matter what he nearly killed his other half?!

“Raphael … what should we do is there anything else we could do?”

Raphael opened his mouth to say something. But closed it. He looked at Michael. He knew he wasn’t fine. “I’m fine” means, I’m dying inside in Michaelish. But he had a worst big brother in front of him.

There is something actually. Something that might wake his mind. Mind=body. It might not fix it entirely. Even I didn’t. We shouldn’t touch his body a lot. Archangel bodies are fragile when wounded… like porcelain dolls. One wrong piece can break him. He might not show it, which is sad because we’re used to pain…

He stopped and smiled hopefully. He raised his head. But he wasn’t looking at Lucifer or Michael this time. He was looking at someone else.

It’s not us this time. We can’t do anything at this point. But she can. Lilith. You’re the most important piece of his mind. You’re the only one who can get in easily. You surround his mind. Not only his mind, but his heart too. So I want you to sing for him. We need you. He needs you.

Lilith 'woke up' due to the new angel's voice. Not like she was asleep, of course not, but she had been so deep in her own thoughts that she had barely payed attention to her surroundings.

She only could see Lucifer coughing up golden blood. She could only think of how she would make every single angel pay after this.

Lilith raised her head and started to sing, a love song, one that Lucifer knew very well. Lilith sang this song many times in the past. When they found out she was pregnant, when the Morningstar's Palace had finished building, when they had been in a particular excellent date...

It was their love song.

Yet this time, unlike the many others in the past, it sounded sorrow and bitter...

Michael had kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples like Raphael instructed. That’s what he was doing… following instructions because that was the best he could do, considering there was a mess in his mind.

His head was spinning he felt immense guilt for what he had done. Fuck you eve … why? Why did you have to curse me …. I didn’t do anything to you! If you really wanted revenge then why didn’t you just hurt me?! Why did you make me hurt him?…. These questions were coming up as fast as the silent tears on his face, which were caused by the worry towards Lucifer and the exhaustion he felt do to channeling so much of his magical energy at once.

He must wake Lucifer, he must survive… because if he doesn’t … neither will Michael. They are twins and he won’t lose his other half ever again. More light came from his hands and Lilith’s singing was working too. Slowly relief started washing over Michael. Is it really working? Well there was only one way to find out.

Lilith stopped singing as soon as he heard his voice. It felt like she had not heard it in years, or decades.

"Lucifer...?" She caressed a lock of his hair, putting it behind an ear, without realizing a few of her tears were falling on him as well.

She had yet to realize she had been crying during all this time.

"Lucifer, my dear..." She whispered as she carefully incorporated him in a seated position, and then kissed him like if it had been their last.

Lucifer kissed her back. Even though he couldn’t lift his hand. He smiled into the kiss. A tear ran down his face.

He said that knowing he can’t even lift a finger. He was awake okay. He was okay and awake but he wasn’t able move his upper body.

Lilith was barely listening to him, just hugging him so tightly that it was like she feared he would turn to dust if she let go.

"Do not ever do this to me again..." She nuzzled him, not realizing she had her cheeks wet from crying.

Then, she raised her head a little and glared at Raphael and Michael. It was a look of pure hate and betrayal. "So... You tried to exterminate my husband?"

Michael was blacking out. He was happy that Lucifer survived but knowing that he was the one who caused all of this really weighed down on his chest. Lilith’s words struck harder than a blade to his chest would. He did try to exterminate him, even though he didn’t remember.

“I-I don’t know what happened! I swear I remember nothing of what I did. I would have never done that with my free will! Why would I? Eve cursed me—“

He turned his head away not wanting anyone to see him cry.

"Excuses." Lilith narrowed her eyes at him, with pure hate on her gaze. She was clearly not listening to any of it.

Even though in her deepest part of her heart she knew the truth, her maddening anger was blocking those thoughts in favour of hating angels as an species altogether.

"I have been betrayed by your kind one too many times." Lilith let go of Lucifer (propping him against a wall) and stood up to stare down at both Raphael and Michael. "You like exterminations so much? How about you experience how they are first hand?" She asked, gathering so much magic in her hands, it should not be possible for a sinner.

It was clear she was pushing herself, but right now, it didn't bother her. She would end these angels, even if it finished herself, too.

Michael saw what she was doing and slowly stepped towards her. “Lilith… that will hurt you, more than it would hurt us … please think.” He paused for a moment trying to come up with a solution so she wouldn’t destroy herself in the process.

He gazed fell on the exorcist helmet he had worn. It was now broken in half but Roos corruption on its inside was visible. Maybe he could use that to prove to her he couldn’t control his own actions? It certainly was worth a try.

With some magic he summoned it in his hand and brought it closer to Lilith. Flipping it around to the inner side where the dark shadow coils and red particles were still visible. “Please , Lilith just look! This is Roos magic! It left a mark on the mask. Can’t you tell that she is the reason all of this happened? Just stop. Don’t hurt yourself because of me. Lucifer nearly died, if you end up hurting thanks to me … I’d…” he didn’t finish the sentence because they would have understood what he implied.

His tail wrapped around Lilith’s wrist. He had a face of betrayal from his brother, and fear of losing his wife.

Let Raphael go he probably tried to heal me. Your problem is with Roo who started it. My problem is with Michael who made this. He showed himself, by looking at his body. His upper body was still useless* The other angels probably don’t even know this happened. Don’t feel hatred towards Raguel, Gabriel and Uriel. I don’t know what to think. I feel betrayal and pain. If this extermination thing never started we wouldn’t be here. There wouldn’t be no mask. I should’ve never let it happen in the first place as the king. Your feelings are natural, and I can’t stop you from them.

Upon feeling Lucifer's tail wrapping around her arm, Lilith tensed up a little. It was clear she wanted to continue her rage, she wanted to hurt others the same way they had hurt Lucifer...

Yet she couldn't. Not when Lucifer himself was pleading her not to.

Lilith grasped at the tip of his tail as if she was holding his hand, and dropped off her arm, her magic dissipating in the air as if she did so.

She still stared at Michael and Raphael, her feelings of hate still not subsided at all.

When you repeatedly test the trust of a person, at some point, they stop trusting you at all. That was what had happened with Lilith and angels.

She kneeled down a little to the wall where Lucifer was leaning on. "Can you move, darling? Do you want me to carry you?"

At this point, Lilith just wanted to go home.

He screamed at Lilith out of panic. Then realized the queen was already angry enough on them.

Your majesty I know we just met. And I wish we met in a better way… maybe in one of Raguel’s tea parties. But I wanna apologize. I tried my best. I can’t fully heal his upper body. I don’t know how bad the impacts were, but the tissues on his veins were so fragile and thin I couldn’t touch them entirely. If we were in my lab I could’ve but we’re unfortunately not. I was so scared too coming here to this scenery again. I thought I lost my big brother this time. And the fact that this has been done from my other big brother doesn’t help my fear.

Raphael had tears in his eyes. He didn’t let them down. But his fast beating heart was making this difficult for him

Michael couldn’t even register what Raphael had said. After Lilith broke the mask into a million pieces he froze, not knowing what to do. And now the problem was taken care of, he knelt on the ground staring at the shadows curling around the remnants of the helmets.

He let his mind spiral, he thought about what happened how he hurt people and somehow didn’t remember… all because of Roo. The person he used to love the most was the one he hated now. The one whose throat he wanted to slit, for the reason that she nearly caused the death of her dear twin brother.

Hatred and a want for revenge sparked in Michael’s heart. But not only that… so did guilt…. For hurting Lucifer and Lilith, for calling box a filthy sinner and for killing a few dozen sinners.

“Fuck you roo …” he muttered.

That moment Roo wasn’t there physically, though her essence was carried through the shadows still clinging to the mask… or what was left of it. She widowed in Michael’s ear … something only he could hear.

“Michael…. See how they all hate you, for something you couldn’t even control? Do they even deserve someone as powerful and as kind as you? Or do they just use you when they need you?” The shadow tendril started wrapping around his arm.

“Lilith threw you under the bus, even though you gave her proof you weren’t at fault, Lucifer probably hates you too, so does Raphael…. I don’t know what to say about Vox but he is a nobody so I don’t care.”

Her voice paused for a bit as the shadow tendril went around his neck, not pulling or hurting him … just there. “Come on let me take control and I’ll make sure all the pain you feel disappears…”

Michael’s brow furrowed as the shadow wrapped around his neck . “Get out of my head roo…. He muttered.”

But what she said made him think. Could she be right? Maybe she was correct? Wouldn’t be the first time she was. Michael’s wings drooped as he was still kneeling. He was just about to say yes to Roos offer, when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

The shadow instantly disappeared as Michael stiffened to the sudden hug. But his hand hand moved up to caress Raphael’s cheek.

He sighed and said .” Okey Raphael… can we just um… go home? I have something I want to do… well I want to speak to someone… that’s all…”

He doesn’t have a regular voice in his head. It’s not trauma or something. He’s getting corrupted, again and again. First the mask, now his body. And that’s not a normal power any sinner can carry… it’s Roo, she probably corrupted the mask too. Roo is even more powerful than me. She’s the first evil in this world. Whatever these sinners did, started from her. Including the sinners themselves started from her. Even the angels. If she’s able to corrupt the first born of god, and make the archangel of war, lose a war. She’s not something and someone to be against.

So Michael. I know you, better than anyone. Don’t you dare make a reckless decision out of anger. You can’t fight her. Neither of us can. Go back to heaven. And don’t come back. You’re in danger here, you’re a danger here…

Lucifer was laying on his side. Leaning on his arm. He was giving all his energy to his brothers. And share the knowledge. He didn’t want any of his siblings down there. Especially Michael. He didn’t know how to feel towards him. But one thing’s for sure. He felt fear, he feared he might lose Michael forever there.

Michael stood silently on the edge of one of Hell’s tallest buildings, his figure outlined against the crimson sky. The wind tugged at the white cape draped over his shoulders, though he never seemed to notice.

His new exorcist uniform was immaculate, not touched by ash or blood. It was white, eon his chest there was an “M”, just like Adam’s robes which had an “A”.

Covering his face was his familiar exorcist mask. The blue grin spread across his face from ear to ear and the X which covered his right eye seemed to glow in the darkness of hell

He didn’t know it had changed. He didn’t know that Roo had secretly corrupted it, weaving her magic into its very core in an attempt to seize control of his mind. The spell had worked but not in the way she had intended.

Instead of turning Michael into her puppet, the corruption had awakened something far darker.

A bloodlust. A relentless instinct that surfaced the moment he came in contact with the mask.

Michael didn’t understand why his thoughts felt different. He didn’t question why his heart beat just a little faster whenever he looked over the city below. To him, it all felt… natural.

His grip tightened around his all powerful sword. His gaze slowly swept across the streets beneath him.

Empty.

Only abandoned roads and flickering neon signs.

“Come out, come out wherever you are… do any demons want to play.” He said and grinned wider waiting for unsuspecting sinners.

The silence only made the feeling inside him grow stronger. It burned in the back of his mind, urging him to move, to search, to hunt. He couldn’t explain it, nor did he try. Every passing second seemed to sharpen his senses further.

His wings slowly unfolded, each feather catching the red glow that bathed the city.

Michael took a single step closer to the edge of the rooftop. His eyes never stopped searching the streets, rooftops, alleyways… but there was nothing… at least for now. A faint breeze carried through the empty city, and Michael tilted his head, listening and waiting.

Someone would appear eventually. They always did and when that moment came… He would be ready.

Behind Michael a few of Roos red eyes blinked open… she saw everything.

“No…”

This wasn’t what she’d wanted. He wasn’t becoming the perfect puppet she’d envisioned.

Instead he stood there like a predator. The corruption had sunk deep into his mind, but rather than making him hers, it had awakened a ruthless bloodlust that drowned out everything else.

“Damn it…”

She had spent all this effort corrupting the mask, manipulating Lute into delivering it, all for this. She hadn’t wanted Michael to become some mindless hunter!

She wanted to speak through him, rule through him, and slowly take Heaven apart from the inside without anyone realizing what was happening. Michael was supposed to be her key to the Pearly Gates….

For a moment, she considered destroying the spell altogether. But no … it was better to see what would happen. After all it’s not every day the archangel of war takes on the job of an exorcist.

A thought crossed her mind. Lucifer should probably know that his brother is in hell to exterminate his people. Roo quickly got her phone and dialed a number. The moment he answered, she spoke in an unusually calm voice.

“Lucifer… you and Lilith should probably look out the window. …” With that she hang up and put her phone away. “I need to find Cain ….”she mumbled.

Michael walked through Hell in complete silence, now nearing the Entertainment District. Neon lights across the horns of his exorcist mask.

His sword had shape shifted into a quite beautiful battle spear. Its blade was already wet with sinner blood. Michael didn’t even glance at it.

His eyes remained fixed ahead. The corruption within the mask continued to twist his mind. He had no idea Roo was responsible. All he felt was the growing urge to keep searching.

To keep hunting.

He tightened his grip on the spear and continued to move forward.

"You do know this mask ticks me off, right?" Vox appears in front of him in a zap of lightning, skipping down from the camera. He noticed Michael before he came in for the kill, and missed that as he travelled through the wires. "If you wanted to attract my attention, you could have simply..."

He realizes that the spear in Michael's hand is covered in blood.

"... called," he ends slowly.

"Michael, did you just double-killed one of my souls?"

Michael didn’t answer immediately. He looked at Vox for a moment before his gaze drifted away. With the back of his hand he calmly wiped the blood from his chin.

Suddenly the visor of his mask glitched.

The blue grin, the X, even the electric blue glow disappeared and it blackened completely for just a moment. His hand twitched towards his face as if he wanted to rip the mask off but couldn’t. That was only for a moment.

Soon the glitching stopped and the visor returned to normal.

Michael slowly turned his head back toward Vox. Realized that he too was a sinner. His brain went into attack mode and the spear in his hand dissolved into white light reshaping itself back into the sword.

“…He was in my way.” His grip tightened around the hilt as the blue grin spread across his face again. “…And now … so are you.”

Vox knows this sword. Once Michael showed it to him.

But he also noticed the gesture, that jerk of the hand towards the mask; and the predatory blue grin doesn't seem like the Michael he knows.

Does he even know this angel? Or all he saw was a curated version of the archangel he is seeing in front of himself right now? Lucifer trembled before his older brother. He warned Vox, but Vox never saw Michael that menacing, archangel of war or not.

Vox zaps himself to the side, creating space between them, wary of the possible attacks.

"Now, that's no way to talk to a friend," Vox says, voice smooth and pacifying, "What got you so worked up this time, Michael?"

Michael’s grin fades at the word ‘friend’, like it seems foreign to him. “Friend?…” There was a hint of recognition when he looked at him, that was the reason why the archangel didn’t attack immediately. As if something stopped him from deep down.

“Why would I be friends with you? You’re a sinner… and I hate sinners ….” The grip on his sword tightened at the sight of more of them passing through. The only thing what went through his brain was …kill them… and that was what he would do… after dealing with whoever this was.

“You ask why I am worked up. I am not… I am only doing my job as archangel of war, exterminating these wretched pests for the good of heaven.” That was a lie. This wasn’t for heaven. It just felt like what he must do for the sake of killing them.He started to advance and move closer possibly getting ready to strike, the wide grin returning to his face. “You are between me and my objective … so …I’ll have to include you in my mission …”

Vox is backing away, slowly, very slowly.

"But exterminations are over," he responds softly. "What are you really doing down here, Mike?"

Michael moves closer - and Vox zaps away to another roof. He does not attack, but doesn't run away completely, remaining in Michael's sight. His eyes and drones watch the archangel intently. He thinks for a moment about involving Alastor, but remembers a deep scar on his chest.

"To include me in your mission you need to catch me," he smirks, feeling the adrenaline rush in his veins.

Zapping away, switching directions, but always staying in Michael's sight, teasing, Vox slowly tries to lure Michael out of the Entertainment district and closer to Morningstar's palace. At least from there he will be able to pass this problem on to Lucifer himself.

His ratings are too low to allow his souls to die.

“All that pride… and you’re still running... Really I thought this would be harder. You are just filth wearing a smile.” Michael said loudly so he could hear.

His mask glitched again this time it reverted back in a few seconds. He turned his attention back to Vox catching on to what he was doing and deciding to play along.

“You are wasting time,” he said at last, his voice flat.

By the time Michael was already at the edge of the entertainment district his sword had already been covered in red. He didn’t pause, didn’t even acknowledge what he’d done. ( which was quite unusual for Michael because he isn’t just a mindless hunter) His eyes remained fixed on Vox.

His patience had worn thin. With that blue fire started to wrap around him and in a blink of an eye Michael vanished. He appeared on a rooftop a few felt away from where Vox was standing.

“I am growing tired of this! stop running!” It was obvious that Vox was managing to get under Michael’s skin. At this point he had thought of calling over one or two of his girls (exorcists), maybe even Lute, but he brushed the thought away not wanting them to get hurt. After all hell knew how to kill exorcists and Michael didn’t want to take any chances.

"Oh, but I don't want to die, why should I stop?" Vox moves back carefully, eyes on the sword and its owner. "Tell me, archangel of war, what is your objective? To kill everyone here? Why? Aren't we powerless against someone like you?"

Michael suddenly appears right in front of him, and Vox immediately zaps again. The role of the mouse in the game of cat and mouse is new to him, but he knows the game very well anyways. And he's one smart mouse.

He moves away, almost letting Michael catch himself, but this turns very dangerous very fast; Michael always has short temper, and now that short temper turns him even more murderous.

So the moment they are in the proximity of Morningstar's palace, Vox throws a lightning into Lucifer's window, shattering it.

"LUCI, GO DEAL WITH YOUR INSANE BROTHER, I THINK HIS MASK IS CURSED OR SOMETHING!" he shouts, and then turns into electricity and zaps away through the surveillance camera as fast as possible, fleeing the battlefield.

He is no coward, but he isn't stupid either.

The question caught Michael off guard because he didn’t really have an answer to that. He just wanted to kill sinners, like there was a voice inside him commanding him to do this. “Stop playing!” He finally shouted. “I’m doing this because it’s necessary! Adam had a reason for the extermination and now I’m continuing what he started!”

The sword in his hand shapes into a bow and arrow as he flys after Vox from above. He shoots one it barely misses and erupts into blue fire. He shot another, then another and another. It was clear that he hadn’t intended this to go on for so long. Let’s just say Vox wasn’t an easy kill.

Michael chased him till Lucifer’s palace. He looks around and realizes where he is. “YOU FUCKIN TRICKED ME MORON!”

He tries to hatch him but it’s too late he had already zapped away.

"Fucking Lucifer... When I trap him, I'm gonna make sure he won't be able to walk in a week." Lilith grumbled from under her breath as she walked down the aisles of the Morningstar's Palace.

Lucifer had trapped her inside so she does not get herself involved with Michael. However...

A loud noise of shattering glass raised her from her thoughts. "What the–?!" She yelled out, as she ran to the source...

And came across his dear brother in law, Michael. Wearing an exorcist outfit and a mythical sword.

Michael was still a little bit irritated by not being able to catch Vox. He was thinking of where to go next when he was he sister in law, Lilith.

He generally had a good relationship with her but with this mask on he had forgotten every good memory of her, only remembering the bad… not only that another thought went through his head.

Lilith was a sinner…. The first one…

And right now he wanted nothing more than to kill every single last one of them.

His grip on the sword tightened. (By now the bow and arrow changed back into the sword) it was still a bit dirty with the dried sinner blood. Michael glanced at Lilith again and disappeared in a puff of blue fire.

But he wasn’t gone…. Not yet…

Lilith ran to where Michael had been standing on, trying to get close to him and actually talk face to face (or face to mask), but he had already disappeared.

"Fucking Roo... What did you do?..." She looked around. "Michael! Michael, if you can hear me! I just want to talk! We don't have to fight! No one has to get hurt!"

Of course, she had not realized Michael had already hurt someone...

Michael appeared a few feet away from her. Sword ready in case she tried to do anything. He was ready to hurt her. She could probably see the already dried blood on it, but honestly? He didn’t even care. It’s not like he was hiding it.

“What is it?” He said flatly looking at her through the mask, which had an X over his right eye and was giving off an electric blue glow.

The urge to kill her was still there, but the mask didn’t make him stupid. He thought it would be better to hear what she had to say.

"Michael..." Lilith looked at him with her hands up. She noticed the blood on his sword already. "You killed someone, right?... It's okay, you can still repent. Listen. Put the sword down. Sinners are not at fault. They don't deserve to be exterminated...

Michael looked at Lilith and then back at his sword. The blue grin on his face widened and he said. “You were never my family…” he might not have ment it because he didn’t really remember anything of her, but it still would have hurt.

He didn’t put his sword down, only raised it higher. Now it was fully drawn. “No! I won’t put it down. I’m only doing my job, which was long overdue. Your kind deserves to die.” When he said this his mask slightly glitched again going black for just a moment and Michael’s hand flew to its surface, like he wanted to take it off but couldn’t. It slowly lit up again and that little spark of vulnerability was completely gone. “… now … we’re was I?”

She saw the flicker on his mask, the hesitation, Roo has told her that she had done something to Michael that had corrupted him...

It was obvious. All the signs pointed at the mask being the source of all his anger, his negative emotions, his desire to draw blood.

"Alright, Michael... I am just going to get close...." She gave a few steps towards him, with her hands up in the air.

"I am not going to sing, trust me..."

She got close enough to be able to whisper in his ear. "It will only take a moment..."

And she put her fingers in the inside of the mask, intending to violently rip it off.

Michael didn’t like that Lilith had come close, but for some reason he let her. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to do anything to actually hurt him.

When Adam had made that mask for him, Michael had it stuck for a few hours, because he simply couldn’t figure out. He had later found out from Adam that exorcist masks have a locking mechanism so the helmet doesn’t fall off during battle. It was simply impossible for anyone who wasn’t an exorcist to know how to unlock it.

As soon as he felt the grip on his mask, he immediately knew what she was trying to do. With a fluid motion of his hand he shoved her away. “Oh, you think you’re smart huh? Well… let’s see how that goes for you…”

He grabbed his sword which he had dropped, but during this moment he turned his back from her, giving her a chance to strike if needed. He didn’t worry though. Because to him Lilith was just a small inconvenience.

"Tch... Fucking Adam..." Lilith whispered, and she felt the small shove Michael did to put her away.

... He had turned around. Lilith was sure now that there was still some kind of conscience left of Michael down there who didn't want to hurt her.

He had just given her a chance.

With a swift singing, a partiture appeared out of thin air, and it started wrapping tightly around Michael's body, like if it were made of steel.

Lilith got close once again, starting to mess around with the lock on his mask.

"Don't worry, sweetie. Adam and I are made out of the same mold. Everything he can do, I can do as well. I'll figure it out. Somehow."

Michael felt the steel like strand wrapping around. By then he had already reached his sword. Using it he cut through the band. He snarled. “Worry? I don’t worry and I am certainly not worried of you doing anything.”

He flew to one of the higher towers of the palace and perched on a railing. His sword shifted and turned into a bow and arrow.

“Try this on for size, and don’t worry sweetheart if I miss whatever this will hit will erupt in my blue flames.”With a flick of his hand the magical arrow went flying straight towards Lilith.

Lilith let out a gasp and summoned a partiture that thankfully protected her, but the arrow still hit the floor.

The floor started to get wrapped in blue flames. "Oh, no, no, no, no!"

"Michael! Stop this!" Lilith coughed a bit because of the smoke.

Michael crossed his arms and laughed. “Stop it? Hmmm… let me think about it… NO!” He said as he watch how Lilith was trapped in a circle of holy fire.

For a moment he felt worry rise in his chest as if he didn’t want her to get hurt for some reason. This was weird because she was still a sinner and he was the one who had the urge to annihilate every single one of those filthy creatures.

While thinking of this he unknowingly made the flames smaller. Not completely gone, but definitely not out of control as they were before. “Tch, you aren’t worth it… “ he said when he had finally brushed the worries away. With a flick of this wings he flew above the palace and started circling it in the air, waiting for Lucifer.

Lucifer flew through a window and went out the other holding his brother. He got them out of the palace. He made a giant portal, making the palace disappear. Lucifer landed in front of his twin with very angry eyes. His eyes were full red out of anger.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THEM???

If you wanna deal with a sinner, demon, deal with the biggest one. I’m the devil. Deal with me. Not them.

Lucifer literally dared Michael to attack him. Forcing him into another battle. He knew he wasn’t going to even slice a paper cut on his arm. He would never hurt Michael. But Michael look’s like he would. So he opened his arms to tell him “come on here”

Michael looked at Lucifer. He didn’t have an urge to hurt him, because his hatred was only towards sinners and his twin was an angel.

But he didn’t hesitate when Lucifer stood in his way, his masked gaze locked onto him. At that moment he wanted to get rid of the obstacle in his way. It meant nothing that Lucifer was his brother.

He looked at his sword as it started to glow brighter and brighter with heavens light. Michael positioned his hand above it and fired a concentrated light blast towards Lucifer.

“Interference detected…. You should have stayed in your place demon!”

He calmly turned to his side dodging the blast. So it’s going to be like that? He wants violence. He get’s violence. He took his golden electric blade spear sword. Even though he wasn’t going to use it on Michael. Michael will use his on him. So he better keep it.

No. I’m right here Michael. I’m not a demon, I’m the king of demons. Now. I have to protect my people from you.

He held his weapon towards Michael. Showing him clearly he’s talking about Michael and challenging him.

It’s either I stop you. Or you stop and go back to heaven, to never come back. Touching NO! sinner. The choice is yours

Michael looked at Lucifer.

“Alright, I’ll leave…”

His blue grin widened as he disappeared in a puff of blue flames. It seemed as so he really had left. For a full 15 minutes there was nothing

But he returned and charged at Lucifer knocking out the lighting blade from his hand, while stringing with his. As soon as he landed a strike his sword shaped into a beautiful battle axe, which had a cross in the middle where the two blades joined.

Michael spun it around and charged at Lucifer full full speed. The mask may have corrupted him but he was still the great fighter he always was.

“Just so you know I didn’t want to hurt you. You brought this on yourself when you challenged me.”

Another swing. “Don’t forget hell is forever…”

I didn’t wanna challenge you either but… but you brought this upon yourself too. You’re not hurting my sinners. Just as I’m not hurting your winners.

He knew it. He knew Michael would never go, so he waited. Waited for him to jump on him. And just like he predicted, he did. Even though he knew, he didn’t do anything. But the air was knocked out of his lungs.

Lucifer kicked Michael off of him. Throwing him to the other side of the garden. And get up getting his blade back. His breath was still knocked out. But he held his sword blade towards Michael, waiting for his next move.

Michael caught his balance and never reached the brother, he flew towards his brother the ace changed back into a sword. He struck again this time targeting one of Lucifer’s wings.

“You know. I don’t really understand why you are tying to protect them. They disrespect you and d ok not acknowledge your authority.” He landed another perfect hit while dodging Lucifer’s.

Michael drew another concentrated beam of light from his sword aimed it at Lucifer and said. “I’m doing this for the good of heaven.”

His axe hit his shoulder. Which made his eyes turn red again. He aimed at Michael’s arm which landed perfectly. He stopped for a second regretting and feeling guilty. But he shook his head and came back to his senses.

Well if HELL IS FOREVER! Than even though they don’t like me and disrespect me. I still have to protect them. LOOK AT ME MICHAEL!!! This is not the good for heaven! Or hell! Demons will hate and attack heaven again. With stronger hatred. Heaven wanted the good and they kicked their own archangel. For what? Loving a mortal! Heaven has no good!!!

He was dodging every hit Michael was trying to land. He took Michael’s sword from the sharp side. Making his palms bleed, and throw him outside of palace gardens. Away from the palace. He could care less about his pain right now.

Michael. Looked at what he had done to Lucifer. Guilt rose in his chest the mask started glitching again, like the real Michael was trying to stop this. Deep down he felt more pain then Lucifer, because he was doing something he vowed to never do again.

Hurt his blood.

“Lucifer… take —“ the mask turned back to normal and Michael continued fighting. His sword shaped into a bow and arrow. He shot wt Lucifer the arrows erupting in blue fire.

“Heaven is good, heaven is righteous, you are only saying this because you failed to meet their expectations! You disobeyed and got punished for it! Don’t act like some victim!”

With that he fired another blast this time much stronger.

He dodged every single arrow flying around. His hands were bleeding covering the floor with golden drops. He landed hard on the floor, right in front of Michael’s face. Making a big crack.

If you fail because of a small mistake that will hurt no one! Not even giving a second chance. And get punished for it. Than heaven failed.

Lucifer saw something wrong with the mask. So he punched it. He hates… no despises that mask. Making his brother force to do bad things, making exorcist, wars to hell, taking souls just because why? Just because they can. Lucifer stopped for a second to test something as he saw a little crack in his brother.

Michael moved away from Lucifer. He was angry because his twin discovered that the mask was the problem. He saw the blood. His little brothers golden blood. His twin was bleeding while he himself was mostly untacked with only minor scratches.

His mask flickered again. “T-t-take it off—“ the mask turned back and Michael switched back into the ruthless hunter. He wracked Lucifer pinning him to the ground and resting his sword above his throat. “I’m winning…”

Lucifer was in between. Should he cut his twin with his blade sword, which he didn’t want to. And take the mask off. Or should he let him do it. He wouldn’t, even with the mask he wouldn’t. Was he trusting him too much? He was his twin of course he did.

So he made a sigil with his name that throw him blasts. Which let Lucifer free. So he took advantage of it. And un-do the spell, and punched Michael’s mask with a tiny blast to make sure. He saw his real Michael behind. And punched it again shattering the mask this time. He stared at his twin brother with shining eyes with tears. Guilt was eating him. But he had to.

Then he saw Michael passing out. He took a deep breath. And looked at one of Vox’s drones. He smiled for the last time with the blood covered face. A smile that meant a lot. And he passed out right after. Covered with cuts and bruises made by his twin brother. He sacrificed his life for the ones that tried to kill him… but it was okay. He did it to safe his brother and his people

Vox zaps down from the drone immediately, landing next to the angel and his fallen twin.

"Fucking goddamn angels and their goddamn masks," he kneels next to Lucifer first, checking his throat hastily, which bothered him the most. Fortunately, Michael didn't slit King of Hell's artery before getting his mask knocked off him. A wound on that place with angelic steel would mean death for sure. Now, while Lucifer is covered in bruises and cuts and golden blood, Vox refuses to panic in advance, even though his heart does miss a bit at how immobile Lucifer is.

"Okay," he whispers to himself, taking his own coat off and slicing it into thin cloth stripes, then bandaging the wounds, binding the cloth harshly in places where the wounds are deeper to prevent Lucifer bleeding out completely. "Okay, okay."

He kicks out the weapon out of Michael's hand. He doesn't have any angelic binds, and he isn't sure that touching that particular blade is safe. For a moment he wonders if he should risk it and plunge it right into Michael's heart - in case it wasn't a mask after all.

But it most likely was the mask. And the weapon that transforms itself is most likely that famous sword of his. He cannot leave Michael lie in the street on his own either. Someone could try to use opportunity to strike him down, and, even if Michael deserves it, Vox feels like they've drank too much whiskey together by now not to give an angel any grace.

The bandages on Lucifer go golden quickly, and Vox decides.

He calls Lilith. "My Queen," he says quietly, "If you have any remedies or any spells to stop the bleeding from the angelic weapons, you might want to bring them to the square in front of your palace. Lucifer defeated Michael, broke the mask, but... but he is severely wounded, and I am no healer."

There was some buzzing sounding from afar. Her phone was sounding. Someone was calling.

She was on her bed. Not the bed of the hotel, but the one from the Morningstar's Palace.

But hadn't it been on fire just minutes ago?

No. That fire was blue. It must have been a nightmare.

After all, Michael swore to never kill again.

That must be a nightmare caused by her trauma.

Otherwise, how could she be on her bed after passing out from seeing the blue angelic fire consuming her home?

Lilith answered the phone and she was suddenly very, very awake.

It had not been a nightmare.

Lucifer must have teleported there, somehow, after seeing her passed out. And then fought Michael to the death.

And she had somehow missed all of it.

Goddammit. Goddammit, Lilith. Goddammit, Lucifer. Goddammit, Michael. Goddammit, GOD.

"You are not taking my husband, you bitch ass God." Lilith swore under her breath as she searched for the aid box she had on hand from when Charlie or Lucifer or her were sick or injured.

She didn't remember a time when she had to use it on Lucifer, but there is always a moment for everything.

Lilith arrived next to Vox literally out of breath and shoved him aside in her hurry. "How are they?! Who needs healing first?!"

Both needed healing. Michael’s mask was shattered. And there was a little cut on his arm. Lucifer didn’t wanna hurt his twin brother, even though his twin wanted to. He would never.

But Lucifer. Letting Michael do whatever he wants on him. Not lending a single cut on him. He himself didn’t want to. So in the end, he was the one who was hurt… Again. He was bleeding everywhere… the scene was too familiar. He was so close to death this time.

His face was covered in blood, his wing was nearly sliced, his shoulder was cut, his palms were cut. The floor was golden from Lucifer’s blood. He nearly let his brother kill him with the sword. The place he pointed his sword on his neck was bleeding. Maybe if he didn’t make that sigil, it would be cut open.

Michael blinked his eyes open. Everything was blurry. All he could see was hells blood red sky which confused him. He didn’t remember going to hell. How was he there? what happened?

He looked down at what he was wearing. It was an exorcist uniform. Why was he wearing it? Michael had absolutely no idea, because he would never wear something like it.

His hands were covered with blood, gold and red mixed together, which meant one thing. He had hurt someone …. This unsettled him. What could have happened for him to draw blood?

Michael glanced to the side and saw Lucifer. He was bleeding. His heart started raising. “LUCIFER! No, no, no, no…. WHAT HAPPENED?! Did I do this?” He immediately went to his brother’s side not even noticing that Vox was there. Without thinking he placed his hand above one of the wounds. It started to glow with light. “Uuhh… I’ll fix this no … I HAVE to fix this…..” he said while tears fell from his eyes. The magic was working, slowly, but still it was working.

Even though Michael had no idea what was going on. He knew that he had do heal Lucifer before something happened.

Lucifer wasn’t moving. His wing was sliced to half. His shoulder had a deep cut from the axe. His palms were bleeding because of the sword. His face was bleeding from the hits Michael landed.

But most importantly and scary thing was, he had a cut on his neck it was small. But little golden droplets were coming.

He wasn’t waking up. He wasn’t moving. His chest wasn’t even moving to let them know he was alive.

Michael’s heart was beating quickly. His light magic healed some of the wounds, but not the one on Lucifer’s wing. He didn’t know what to do. The tears were still silently falling.

“No, no no no no…. Not again…. Please Lucifer wake up!”

The glow brightened and it seemed as though the blood form his face and hands was completely gone. That was the best he could do he wasn’t the archangel of heeling after all….

The golden blood from his face was gone. Not the injury. The blood wasn’t stopping. His hands were healed and his shoulder was better. But his wing had no luck. It was sliced, the only thing that was holding it was the veins and feathers.

He was still down. He didn’t let anything happen to his brother. But he let his brother do anything, that happened to him. Michael probably had small cuts, which Lucifer felt bad for. But Lucifer had big cuts, slice and bruises. His brother was awake, but he was nowhere awake. His brother was up fine. But he wasn’t even moving his chest.

Vox shakes his head at Lilith:

"Your husband needs it more, I'm afraid."

Then he slowly approaches Michael from the side, carefully brushing the tips of his claws against archangel's shoulder.

"Do you have anyone in Heaven who can heal that?" he asks quietly. "Because I don't think we've learned it yet here - completely healing the angelic steel wounds."

He doesn't want to think about the fact that Pentagram City will turn into a flying shit storm the moment the King dies; that's when Satan and other Mortal Sins can try to claim the Pride Ring, and the Overlords, like himself, would need to fight back, and that all would be a fucking catastrophe. Well, of course, there is Lilith and Charlie, but who is loyal to them and who is not?

"Roo," Vox suddenly says. "If there is a single soul in Hell that knows how to fix that, it's her. Does any of you still have contact with her?"

Michael’s head is still spiraling. How could he do this? Had he not changed at all these past 10000 years? Or was he still the arrogant archangel who had ripped his own brothers wings off. He didn’t even feel the slight brush of Vox’s claws on his shoulder.

It took a bit to fully register what Vox had said. “I— she blocked me… I don’t really have a way to contract her. Maybe if I try hard enough I can heal heal him!”

Theoretically it was possible for Michael to heal Lucifer’s wounds, but it would take time and a lot of energy from him. Healing really wasn’t the archangel of wars specialty… but there was someone who had mastered it. the archangel of healing. (Who was also his little brother.)

“Raphael…” Michael muttered. “I need to call Raphael! He could fix this! How didn’t I think of this earlier!”

He hurriedly pulls up his phone and finds Raphael in his contact list. Please pick up, please pick up. He picked up.

“Her Raphael….” Michael said in a shaky voice. “I need you to come to hell as soon as possible. Drop everything, Samuel— LUCIFER needs you!”

After hearing his big brother’s shaky voice, which doesn’t happen often. He knew something was wrong. He didn’t flew to hell. He made a portal. The view was what he prayed not to see. His hands were still trembling. He healed the wound on Lucifer’s head, and stopped it from bleeding more. He took Lucifer’s jacket off, there was more cuts and wounds. He healed them one by one. And wrapped them. He took his shoulder and half way healed it. Wrapped it with a special wrap. If he healed it all the way, it might have different conclusions. Now it was time for the wing. His eye twitched again. His wing was barely holding on. He made a force shield around both of them. The force shield was filled with energy. Lucifer’s wing was back at it’s place again. But it was still broken. So Raphael made a special wrap. It was made from his own energy. But something was wrong.

My Samuel? Samuel… Samuel? LUCIFER!!!

He wasn’t waking up. Was there something different?? So Raphael made his sigil under Lucifer’s unmoving body. The sigil was spreading green light on Lucifer body. Slowly covering his entire body. The neon green eyes of Raphael turned back to normal and the sigil was gone.

Samuel? Raphael was about to touch Lucifer. He didn’t had to. Lucifer throw up golden blood and something black. Raphael started glowing green this time. And he pounced on Michael’s collar.

Michael felt a bit of relief after seeming Raphael heal Lucifer… well mostly. All the worry from his chest had left.

He didn’t react to Raphael’s punch in the neck just said. “I don’t know what happened…. I don’t remember anything… all I know is that I hurt him… it’s like I blacked out or something. I wish I could tell you I really do Raph but I just don’t know!” He quieted for a bit then added. “I’m sorry…”

"He wore an exorcist mask," Vox points to the rests of the mask, uselessly scattered on the ground. "It glitched. He had this... ah, why am I spending words on that. Watch."

Vox uses his own screen to show Raphael everything - since the moment he, Vox, met Michael, and then - what his drones filmed; the ending of the fight with Lilith and the full fight with Lucifer.

"Maybe it was cursed?" there is a short shiver of disgust all over his body.

He's still a Sinner, Overlord or not, and he hates exorcist masks.

Vox shoots a glance in Lilith's direction. He is really worried; she seems almost catatonic, standing there in shock.

Lilith was barely registering what was happening around her.

There was blood. Her husband's blood. A lot of blood.

Her husband was dying.

Lucifer was dying.

Was this possible? Could this be possible? Was she still in an awful nightmare she could not wake up to?

She remembered some feathers. Angels feathers.

Why? Why has Heaven hurt her husband?

Lucifer is going to die if you don't do something, Lilith, get a grip.

There were angel feathers around her, somehow. (Michael and a new angel, Raphael, but she wasn't able to figure out this).

Were they the ones that had hurt her husband like this?

Maybe.

Probably.

Surely.

Heaven did this.

As always, Heaven was at fault of breaking her family apart.

The corruption was gone, and the mask lay discarded nearby, cracked and ruined.

He had seen everything which had happened through Vox’s screen. Michael couldn’t believe it. He acted so horribly. He had killed sinners, chased Vox, attacked Lilith for no reason when she was trying to help and nearly killed his own twin.

Michael’s eyes widened as he looked around.

Lucifer was nearly dead, lying on the ground while Raphael was healing him. Lilith was there too and Michael knew about the altercation he’d had with her the , way he’d attacked her without hesitation. His gaze dropped to his hands.

“…I did this…I attacked all of you.”

He stared at his injured brother, completely devastated.

“I don’t remember everything clearly, but…I did this.” Michael’s expression twisted with guilt. “I’m sorry. I am so, so sorry.”

Well now you know, those who wear that mask are massacrers. You made them to do that. You saw what they do with your view now. You felt how it feels. You know what it cause.

Raphael never liked exorcists. He hated them. Especially for the reasons they take lives. Lives that doesn’t do anything bad to them. It’s not enough to feel him. You have to wake it. Think of it like a body. It’s there you can feel it, but it’s not awake. So that doesn’t mean it’s good or bad. You have to make sure he wakes up.

Michael obeyed Raphael’s orders. He kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples channeling the light magic from his essence into Lucifer. He was scared, like really frightened.

Lilith 'woke up' due to the new angel's voice. Not like she was asleep, of course not, but she had been so deep in her own thoughts that she had barely payed attention to her surroundings.

Michael had kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples like Raphael instructed. That’s what he was doing… following instructions because that was the best he could do, considering there was a mess in his mind.

His head was spinning he felt immense guilt for what he had done. Fuck you eve … why? Why did you have to curse me …. I didn’t do anything to you! If you really wanted revenge then why didn’t you just hurt me?! Why did you make me hurt him?…. These questions were coming up as fast as the silent tears on his face, which were caused by the worry towards Lucifer and the exhaustion he felt do to channeling so much of his magical energy at once.

He must wake Lucifer, he must survive… because if he doesn’t … neither will Michael. They are twins and he won’t lose his other half ever again. More light came from his hands and Lilith’s singing was working too. Slowly relief started washing over Michael. Is it really working? Well there was only one way to find out.

Michael was blacking out. He was happy that Lucifer survived but knowing that he was the one who caused all of this really weighed down on his chest. Lilith’s words struck harder than a blade to his chest would. He did try to exterminate him, even though he didn’t remember.

"Excuses." Lilith narrowed her eyes at him, with pure hate on her gaze. She was clearly not listening to any of it.

Even though in her deepest part of her heart she knew the truth, her maddening anger was blocking those thoughts in favour of hating angels as an species altogether.

"I have been betrayed by your kind one too many times." Lilith let go of Lucifer (propping him against a wall) and stood up to stare down at both Raphael and Michael. "You like exterminations so much? How about you experience how they are first hand?" She asked, gathering so much magic in her hands, it should not be possible for a sinner.

It was clear she was pushing herself, but right now, it didn't bother her. She would end these angels, even if it finished herself, too.

Michael saw what she was doing and slowly stepped towards her. “Lilith… that will hurt you, more than it would hurt us … please think.” He paused for a moment trying to come up with a solution so she wouldn’t destroy herself in the process.

He gazed fell on the exorcist helmet he had worn. It was now broken in half but Roos corruption on its inside was visible. Maybe he could use that to prove to her he couldn’t control his own actions? It certainly was worth a try.

With some magic he summoned it in his hand and brought it closer to Lilith. Flipping it around to the inner side where the dark shadow coils and red particles were still visible. “Please , Lilith just look! This is Roos magic! It left a mark on the mask. Can’t you tell that she is the reason all of this happened? Just stop. Don’t hurt yourself because of me. Lucifer nearly died, if you end up hurting thanks to me … I’d…” he didn’t finish the sentence because they would have understood what he implied.

Michael stood silently on the edge of one of Hell’s tallest buildings, his figure outlined against the crimson sky. The wind tugged at the white cape draped over his shoulders, though he never seemed to notice.

His new exorcist uniform was immaculate, not touched by ash or blood. It was white, eon his chest there was an “M”, just like Adam’s robes which had an “A”.

Covering his face was his familiar exorcist mask. The blue grin spread across his face from ear to ear and the X which covered his right eye seemed to glow in the darkness of hell

He didn’t know it had changed. He didn’t know that Roo had secretly corrupted it, weaving her magic into its very core in an attempt to seize control of his mind. The spell had worked but not in the way she had intended.

Instead of turning Michael into her puppet, the corruption had awakened something far darker.

A bloodlust. A relentless instinct that surfaced the moment he came in contact with the mask.

Michael didn’t understand why his thoughts felt different. He didn’t question why his heart beat just a little faster whenever he looked over the city below. To him, it all felt… natural.

His grip tightened around his all powerful sword. His gaze slowly swept across the streets beneath him.

Empty.

Only abandoned roads and flickering neon signs.

“Come out, come out wherever you are… do any demons want to play.” He said and grinned wider waiting for unsuspecting sinners.

The silence only made the feeling inside him grow stronger. It burned in the back of his mind, urging him to move, to search, to hunt. He couldn’t explain it, nor did he try. Every passing second seemed to sharpen his senses further.

His wings slowly unfolded, each feather catching the red glow that bathed the city.

Michael took a single step closer to the edge of the rooftop. His eyes never stopped searching the streets, rooftops, alleyways… but there was nothing… at least for now. A faint breeze carried through the empty city, and Michael tilted his head, listening and waiting.

Someone would appear eventually. They always did and when that moment came… He would be ready.

Behind Michael a few of Roos red eyes blinked open… she saw everything.

“No…”

This wasn’t what she’d wanted. He wasn’t becoming the perfect puppet she’d envisioned.

Instead he stood there like a predator. The corruption had sunk deep into his mind, but rather than making him hers, it had awakened a ruthless bloodlust that drowned out everything else.

“Damn it…”

She had spent all this effort corrupting the mask, manipulating Lute into delivering it, all for this. She hadn’t wanted Michael to become some mindless hunter!

She wanted to speak through him, rule through him, and slowly take Heaven apart from the inside without anyone realizing what was happening. Michael was supposed to be her key to the Pearly Gates….

For a moment, she considered destroying the spell altogether. But no … it was better to see what would happen. After all it’s not every day the archangel of war takes on the job of an exorcist.

A thought crossed her mind. Lucifer should probably know that his brother is in hell to exterminate his people. Roo quickly got her phone and dialed a number. The moment he answered, she spoke in an unusually calm voice.

“Lucifer… you and Lilith should probably look out the window. …” With that she hang up and put her phone away. “I need to find Cain ….”she mumbled.

Michael walked through Hell in complete silence, now nearing the Entertainment District. Neon lights across the horns of his exorcist mask.

His sword had shape shifted into a quite beautiful battle spear. Its blade was already wet with sinner blood. Michael didn’t even glance at it.

His eyes remained fixed ahead. The corruption within the mask continued to twist his mind. He had no idea Roo was responsible. All he felt was the growing urge to keep searching.

To keep hunting.

He tightened his grip on the spear and continued to move forward.

"You do know this mask ticks me off, right?" Vox appears in front of him in a zap of lightning, skipping down from the camera. He noticed Michael before he came in for the kill, and missed that as he travelled through the wires. "If you wanted to attract my attention, you could have simply..."

He realizes that the spear in Michael's hand is covered in blood.

"... called," he ends slowly.

"Michael, did you just double-killed one of my souls?"

Michael didn’t answer immediately. He looked at Vox for a moment before his gaze drifted away. With the back of his hand he calmly wiped the blood from his chin.

Suddenly the visor of his mask glitched.

The blue grin, the X, even the electric blue glow disappeared and it blackened completely for just a moment. His hand twitched towards his face as if he wanted to rip the mask off but couldn’t. That was only for a moment.

Soon the glitching stopped and the visor returned to normal.

Michael slowly turned his head back toward Vox. Realized that he too was a sinner. His brain went into attack mode and the spear in his hand dissolved into white light reshaping itself back into the sword.

“…He was in my way.” His grip tightened around the hilt as the blue grin spread across his face again. “…And now … so are you.”

Vox knows this sword. Once Michael showed it to him.

But he also noticed the gesture, that jerk of the hand towards the mask; and the predatory blue grin doesn't seem like the Michael he knows.

Does he even know this angel? Or all he saw was a curated version of the archangel he is seeing in front of himself right now? Lucifer trembled before his older brother. He warned Vox, but Vox never saw Michael that menacing, archangel of war or not.

Vox zaps himself to the side, creating space between them, wary of the possible attacks.

"Now, that's no way to talk to a friend," Vox says, voice smooth and pacifying, "What got you so worked up this time, Michael?"

Michael’s grin fades at the word ‘friend’, like it seems foreign to him. “Friend?…” There was a hint of recognition when he looked at him, that was the reason why the archangel didn’t attack immediately. As if something stopped him from deep down.

“Why would I be friends with you? You’re a sinner… and I hate sinners ….” The grip on his sword tightened at the sight of more of them passing through. The only thing what went through his brain was …kill them… and that was what he would do… after dealing with whoever this was.

“You ask why I am worked up. I am not… I am only doing my job as archangel of war, exterminating these wretched pests for the good of heaven.” That was a lie. This wasn’t for heaven. It just felt like what he must do for the sake of killing them.He started to advance and move closer possibly getting ready to strike, the wide grin returning to his face. “You are between me and my objective … so …I’ll have to include you in my mission …”

Vox is backing away, slowly, very slowly.

"But exterminations are over," he responds softly. "What are you really doing down here, Mike?"

Michael moves closer - and Vox zaps away to another roof. He does not attack, but doesn't run away completely, remaining in Michael's sight. His eyes and drones watch the archangel intently. He thinks for a moment about involving Alastor, but remembers a deep scar on his chest.

"To include me in your mission you need to catch me," he smirks, feeling the adrenaline rush in his veins.

Zapping away, switching directions, but always staying in Michael's sight, teasing, Vox slowly tries to lure Michael out of the Entertainment district and closer to Morningstar's palace. At least from there he will be able to pass this problem on to Lucifer himself.

His ratings are too low to allow his souls to die.

“All that pride… and you’re still running... Really I thought this would be harder. You are just filth wearing a smile.” Michael said loudly so he could hear.

His mask glitched again this time it reverted back in a few seconds. He turned his attention back to Vox catching on to what he was doing and deciding to play along.

“You are wasting time,” he said at last, his voice flat.

By the time Michael was already at the edge of the entertainment district his sword had already been covered in red. He didn’t pause, didn’t even acknowledge what he’d done. ( which was quite unusual for Michael because he isn’t just a mindless hunter) His eyes remained fixed on Vox.

His patience had worn thin. With that blue fire started to wrap around him and in a blink of an eye Michael vanished. He appeared on a rooftop a few felt away from where Vox was standing.

“I am growing tired of this! stop running!” It was obvious that Vox was managing to get under Michael’s skin. At this point he had thought of calling over one or two of his girls (exorcists), maybe even Lute, but he brushed the thought away not wanting them to get hurt. After all hell knew how to kill exorcists and Michael didn’t want to take any chances.

"Oh, but I don't want to die, why should I stop?" Vox moves back carefully, eyes on the sword and its owner. "Tell me, archangel of war, what is your objective? To kill everyone here? Why? Aren't we powerless against someone like you?"

Michael suddenly appears right in front of him, and Vox immediately zaps again. The role of the mouse in the game of cat and mouse is new to him, but he knows the game very well anyways. And he's one smart mouse.

He moves away, almost letting Michael catch himself, but this turns very dangerous very fast; Michael always has short temper, and now that short temper turns him even more murderous.

So the moment they are in the proximity of Morningstar's palace, Vox throws a lightning into Lucifer's window, shattering it.

"LUCI, GO DEAL WITH YOUR INSANE BROTHER, I THINK HIS MASK IS CURSED OR SOMETHING!" he shouts, and then turns into electricity and zaps away through the surveillance camera as fast as possible, fleeing the battlefield.

He is no coward, but he isn't stupid either.

The question caught Michael off guard because he didn’t really have an answer to that. He just wanted to kill sinners, like there was a voice inside him commanding him to do this. “Stop playing!” He finally shouted. “I’m doing this because it’s necessary! Adam had a reason for the extermination and now I’m continuing what he started!”

The sword in his hand shapes into a bow and arrow as he flys after Vox from above. He shoots one it barely misses and erupts into blue fire. He shot another, then another and another. It was clear that he hadn’t intended this to go on for so long. Let’s just say Vox wasn’t an easy kill.

Michael chased him till Lucifer’s palace. He looks around and realizes where he is. “YOU FUCKIN TRICKED ME MORON!”

He tries to hatch him but it’s too late he had already zapped away.

"Fucking Lucifer... When I trap him, I'm gonna make sure he won't be able to walk in a week." Lilith grumbled from under her breath as she walked down the aisles of the Morningstar's Palace.

Lucifer had trapped her inside so she does not get herself involved with Michael. However...

A loud noise of shattering glass raised her from her thoughts. "What the–?!" She yelled out, as she ran to the source...

And came across his dear brother in law, Michael. Wearing an exorcist outfit and a mythical sword.

Michael was still a little bit irritated by not being able to catch Vox. He was thinking of where to go next when he was he sister in law, Lilith.

He generally had a good relationship with her but with this mask on he had forgotten every good memory of her, only remembering the bad… not only that another thought went through his head.

Lilith was a sinner…. The first one…

And right now he wanted nothing more than to kill every single last one of them.

His grip on the sword tightened. (By now the bow and arrow changed back into the sword) it was still a bit dirty with the dried sinner blood. Michael glanced at Lilith again and disappeared in a puff of blue fire.

But he wasn’t gone…. Not yet…

Lilith ran to where Michael had been standing on, trying to get close to him and actually talk face to face (or face to mask), but he had already disappeared.

"Fucking Roo... What did you do?..." She looked around. "Michael! Michael, if you can hear me! I just want to talk! We don't have to fight! No one has to get hurt!"

Of course, she had not realized Michael had already hurt someone...

Michael appeared a few feet away from her. Sword ready in case she tried to do anything. He was ready to hurt her. She could probably see the already dried blood on it, but honestly? He didn’t even care. It’s not like he was hiding it.

“What is it?” He said flatly looking at her through the mask, which had an X over his right eye and was giving off an electric blue glow.

The urge to kill her was still there, but the mask didn’t make him stupid. He thought it would be better to hear what she had to say.

"Michael..." Lilith looked at him with her hands up. She noticed the blood on his sword already. "You killed someone, right?... It's okay, you can still repent. Listen. Put the sword down. Sinners are not at fault. They don't deserve to be exterminated...

... Please, put the sword down and go back to being my family. "

Michael looked at Lilith and then back at his sword. The blue grin on his face widened and he said. “You were never my family…” he might not have ment it because he didn’t really remember anything of her, but it still would have hurt.

He didn’t put his sword down, only raised it higher. Now it was fully drawn. “No! I won’t put it down. I’m only doing my job, which was long overdue. Your kind deserves to die.” When he said this his mask slightly glitched again going black for just a moment and Michael’s hand flew to its surface, like he wanted to take it off but couldn’t. It slowly lit up again and that little spark of vulnerability was completely gone. “… now … we’re was I?”

She saw the flicker on his mask, the hesitation, Roo has told her that she had done something to Michael that had corrupted him...

It was obvious. All the signs pointed at the mask being the source of all his anger, his negative emotions, his desire to draw blood.

"Alright, Michael... I am just going to get close...." She gave a few steps towards him, with her hands up in the air.

"I am not going to sing, trust me..."

She got close enough to be able to whisper in his ear. "It will only take a moment..."

And she put her fingers in the inside of the mask, intending to violently rip it off.

Michael didn’t like that Lilith had come close, but for some reason he let her. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to do anything to actually hurt him.

When Adam had made that mask for him, Michael had it stuck for a few hours, because he simply couldn’t figure out. He had later found out from Adam that exorcist masks have a locking mechanism so the helmet doesn’t fall off during battle. It was simply impossible for anyone who wasn’t an exorcist to know how to unlock it.

As soon as he felt the grip on his mask, he immediately knew what she was trying to do. With a fluid motion of his hand he shoved her away. “Oh, you think you’re smart huh? Well… let’s see how that goes for you…”

He grabbed his sword which he had dropped, but during this moment he turned his back from her, giving her a chance to strike if needed. He didn’t worry though. Because to him Lilith was just a small inconvenience.

"Tch... Fucking Adam..." Lilith whispered, and she felt the small shove Michael did to put her away.

... He had turned around. Lilith was sure now that there was still some kind of conscience left of Michael down there who didn't want to hurt her.

He had just given her a chance.

With a swift singing, a partiture appeared out of thin air, and it started wrapping tightly around Michael's body, like if it were made of steel.

Lilith got close once again, starting to mess around with the lock on his mask.

"Don't worry, sweetie. Adam and I are made out of the same mold. Everything he can do, I can do as well. I'll figure it out. Somehow."

Michael felt the steel like strand wrapping around. By then he had already reached his sword. Using it he cut through the band. He snarled. “Worry? I don’t worry and I am certainly not worried of you doing anything.”

He flew to one of the higher towers of the palace and perched on a railing. His sword shifted and turned into a bow and arrow.

“Try this on for size, and don’t worry sweetheart if I miss whatever this will hit will erupt in my blue flames.”With a flick of his hand the magical arrow went flying straight towards Lilith.

Lilith let out a gasp and summoned a partiture that thankfully protected her, but the arrow still hit the floor.

The floor started to get wrapped in blue flames. "Oh, no, no, no, no!"

"Michael! Stop this!" Lilith coughed a bit because of the smoke.

Michael crossed his arms and laughed. “Stop it? Hmmm… let me think about it… NO!” He said as he watch how Lilith was trapped in a circle of holy fire.

For a moment he felt worry rise in his chest as if he didn’t want her to get hurt for some reason. This was weird because she was still a sinner and he was the one who had the urge to annihilate every single one of those filthy creatures.

While thinking of this he unknowingly made the flames smaller. Not completely gone, but definitely not out of control as they were before. “Tch, you aren’t worth it… “ he said when he had finally brushed the worries away. With a flick of this wings he flew above the palace and started circling it in the air, waiting for Lucifer.

Lucifer flew through a window and went out the other holding his brother. He got them out of the palace. He made a giant portal, making the palace disappear. Lucifer landed in front of his twin with very angry eyes. His eyes were full red out of anger.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THEM???

If you wanna deal with a sinner, demon, deal with the biggest one. I’m the devil. Deal with me. Not them.

Lucifer literally dared Michael to attack him. Forcing him into another battle. He knew he wasn’t going to even slice a paper cut on his arm. He would never hurt Michael. But Michael look’s like he would. So he opened his arms to tell him “come on here”

Michael looked at Lucifer. He didn’t have an urge to hurt him, because his hatred was only towards sinners and his twin was an angel.

But he didn’t hesitate when Lucifer stood in his way, his masked gaze locked onto him. At that moment he wanted to get rid of the obstacle in his way. It meant nothing that Lucifer was his brother.

He looked at his sword as it started to glow brighter and brighter with heavens light. Michael positioned his hand above it and fired a concentrated light blast towards Lucifer.

“Interference detected…. You should have stayed in your place demon!”

He calmly turned to his side dodging the blast. So it’s going to be like that? He wants violence. He get’s violence. He took his golden electric blade spear sword. Even though he wasn’t going to use it on Michael. Michael will use his on him. So he better keep it.

No. I’m right here Michael. I’m not a demon, I’m the king of demons. Now. I have to protect my people from you.

He held his weapon towards Michael. Showing him clearly he’s talking about Michael and challenging him.

It’s either I stop you. Or you stop and go back to heaven, to never come back. Touching NO! sinner. The choice is yours

Michael looked at Lucifer.

“Alright, I’ll leave…”

His blue grin widened as he disappeared in a puff of blue flames. It seemed as so he really had left. For a full 15 minutes there was nothing

But he returned and charged at Lucifer knocking out the lighting blade from his hand, while stringing with his. As soon as he landed a strike his sword shaped into a beautiful battle axe, which had a cross in the middle where the two blades joined.

Michael spun it around and charged at Lucifer full full speed. The mask may have corrupted him but he was still the great fighter he always was.

“Just so you know I didn’t want to hurt you. You brought this on yourself when you challenged me.”

Another swing. “Don’t forget hell is forever…”

I didn’t wanna challenge you either but… but you brought this upon yourself too. You’re not hurting my sinners. Just as I’m not hurting your winners.

He knew it. He knew Michael would never go, so he waited. Waited for him to jump on him. And just like he predicted, he did. Even though he knew, he didn’t do anything. But the air was knocked out of his lungs.

Lucifer kicked Michael off of him. Throwing him to the other side of the garden. And get up getting his blade back. His breath was still knocked out. But he held his sword blade towards Michael, waiting for his next move.

Michael caught his balance and never reached the brother, he flew towards his brother the ace changed back into a sword. He struck again this time targeting one of Lucifer’s wings.

“You know. I don’t really understand why you are tying to protect them. They disrespect you and d ok not acknowledge your authority.” He landed another perfect hit while dodging Lucifer’s.

Michael drew another concentrated beam of light from his sword aimed it at Lucifer and said. “I’m doing this for the good of heaven.”

His axe hit his shoulder. Which made his eyes turn red again. He aimed at Michael’s arm which landed perfectly. He stopped for a second regretting and feeling guilty. But he shook his head and came back to his senses.

Well if HELL IS FOREVER! Than even though they don’t like me and disrespect me. I still have to protect them. LOOK AT ME MICHAEL!!! This is not the good for heaven! Or hell! Demons will hate and attack heaven again. With stronger hatred. Heaven wanted the good and they kicked their own archangel. For what? Loving a mortal! Heaven has no good!!!

He was dodging every hit Michael was trying to land. He took Michael’s sword from the sharp side. Making his palms bleed, and throw him outside of palace gardens. Away from the palace. He could care less about his pain right now.

Michael. Looked at what he had done to Lucifer. Guilt rose in his chest the mask started glitching again, like the real Michael was trying to stop this. Deep down he felt more pain then Lucifer, because he was doing something he vowed to never do again.

Hurt his blood.

“Lucifer… take —“ the mask turned back to normal and Michael continued fighting. His sword shaped into a bow and arrow. He shot wt Lucifer the arrows erupting in blue fire.

“Heaven is good, heaven is righteous, you are only saying this because you failed to meet their expectations! You disobeyed and got punished for it! Don’t act like some victim!”

With that he fired another blast this time much stronger.

He dodged every single arrow flying around. His hands were bleeding covering the floor with golden drops. He landed hard on the floor, right in front of Michael’s face. Making a big crack.

If you fail because of a small mistake that will hurt no one! Not even giving a second chance. And get punished for it. Than heaven failed.

Lucifer saw something wrong with the mask. So he punched it. He hates… no despises that mask. Making his brother force to do bad things, making exorcist, wars to hell, taking souls just because why? Just because they can. Lucifer stopped for a second to test something as he saw a little crack in his brother.

Michael moved away from Lucifer. He was angry because his twin discovered that the mask was the problem. He saw the blood. His little brothers golden blood. His twin was bleeding while he himself was mostly untacked with only minor scratches.

His mask flickered again. “T-t-take it off—“ the mask turned back and Michael switched back into the ruthless hunter. He wracked Lucifer pinning him to the ground and resting his sword above his throat. “I’m winning…”

Lucifer was in between. Should he cut his twin with his blade sword, which he didn’t want to. And take the mask off. Or should he let him do it. He wouldn’t, even with the mask he wouldn’t. Was he trusting him too much? He was his twin of course he did.

So he made a sigil with his name that throw him blasts. Which let Lucifer free. So he took advantage of it. And un-do the spell, and punched Michael’s mask with a tiny blast to make sure. He saw his real Michael behind. And punched it again shattering the mask this time. He stared at his twin brother with shining eyes with tears. Guilt was eating him. But he had to.

Then he saw Michael passing out. He took a deep breath. And looked at one of Vox’s drones. He smiled for the last time with the blood covered face. A smile that meant a lot. And he passed out right after. Covered with cuts and bruises made by his twin brother. He sacrificed his life for the ones that tried to kill him… but it was okay. He did it to safe his brother and his people

Vox zaps down from the drone immediately, landing next to the angel and his fallen twin.

"Fucking goddamn angels and their goddamn masks," he kneels next to Lucifer first, checking his throat hastily, which bothered him the most. Fortunately, Michael didn't slit King of Hell's artery before getting his mask knocked off him. A wound on that place with angelic steel would mean death for sure. Now, while Lucifer is covered in bruises and cuts and golden blood, Vox refuses to panic in advance, even though his heart does miss a bit at how immobile Lucifer is.

"Okay," he whispers to himself, taking his own coat off and slicing it into thin cloth stripes, then bandaging the wounds, binding the cloth harshly in places where the wounds are deeper to prevent Lucifer bleeding out completely. "Okay, okay."

He kicks out the weapon out of Michael's hand. He doesn't have any angelic binds, and he isn't sure that touching that particular blade is safe. For a moment he wonders if he should risk it and plunge it right into Michael's heart - in case it wasn't a mask after all.

But it most likely was the mask. And the weapon that transforms itself is most likely that famous sword of his. He cannot leave Michael lie in the street on his own either. Someone could try to use opportunity to strike him down, and, even if Michael deserves it, Vox feels like they've drank too much whiskey together by now not to give an angel any grace.

The bandages on Lucifer go golden quickly, and Vox decides.

He calls Lilith. "My Queen," he says quietly, "If you have any remedies or any spells to stop the bleeding from the angelic weapons, you might want to bring them to the square in front of your palace. Lucifer defeated Michael, broke the mask, but... but he is severely wounded, and I am no healer."

There was some buzzing sounding from afar. Her phone was sounding. Someone was calling.

She was on her bed. Not the bed of the hotel, but the one from the Morningstar's Palace.

But hadn't it been on fire just minutes ago?

No. That fire was blue. It must have been a nightmare.

After all, Michael swore to never kill again.

That must be a nightmare caused by her trauma.

Otherwise, how could she be on her bed after passing out from seeing the blue angelic fire consuming her home?

Lilith answered the phone and she was suddenly very, very awake.

It had not been a nightmare.

Lucifer must have teleported there, somehow, after seeing her passed out. And then fought Michael to the death.

And she had somehow missed all of it.

Goddammit. Goddammit, Lilith. Goddammit, Lucifer. Goddammit, Michael. Goddammit, GOD.

"You are not taking my husband, you bitch ass God." Lilith swore under her breath as she searched for the aid box she had on hand from when Charlie or Lucifer or her were sick or injured.

She didn't remember a time when she had to use it on Lucifer, but there is always a moment for everything.

Lilith arrived next to Vox literally out of breath and shoved him aside in her hurry. "How are they?! Who needs healing first?!"

Both needed healing. Michael’s mask was shattered. And there was a little cut on his arm. Lucifer didn’t wanna hurt his twin brother, even though his twin wanted to. He would never.

But Lucifer. Letting Michael do whatever he wants on him. Not lending a single cut on him. He himself didn’t want to. So in the end, he was the one who was hurt… Again. He was bleeding everywhere… the scene was too familiar. He was so close to death this time.

His face was covered in blood, his wing was nearly sliced, his shoulder was cut, his palms were cut. The floor was golden from Lucifer’s blood. He nearly let his brother kill him with the sword. The place he pointed his sword on his neck was bleeding. Maybe if he didn’t make that sigil, it would be cut open.

Michael blinked his eyes open. Everything was blurry. All he could see was hells blood red sky which confused him. He didn’t remember going to hell. How was he there? what happened?

He looked down at what he was wearing. It was an exorcist uniform. Why was he wearing it? Michael had absolutely no idea, because he would never wear something like it.

His hands were covered with blood, gold and red mixed together, which meant one thing. He had hurt someone …. This unsettled him. What could have happened for him to draw blood?

Michael glanced to the side and saw Lucifer. He was bleeding. His heart started raising. “LUCIFER! No, no, no, no…. WHAT HAPPENED?! Did I do this?” He immediately went to his brother’s side not even noticing that Vox was there. Without thinking he placed his hand above one of the wounds. It started to glow with light. “Uuhh… I’ll fix this no … I HAVE to fix this…..” he said while tears fell from his eyes. The magic was working, slowly, but still it was working.

Even though Michael had no idea what was going on. He knew that he had do heal Lucifer before something happened.

Lucifer wasn’t moving. His wing was sliced to half. His shoulder had a deep cut from the axe. His palms were bleeding because of the sword. His face was bleeding from the hits Michael landed.

But most importantly and scary thing was, he had a cut on his neck it was small. But little golden droplets were coming.

He wasn’t waking up. He wasn’t moving. His chest wasn’t even moving to let them know he was alive.

Michael’s heart was beating quickly. His light magic healed some of the wounds, but not the one on Lucifer’s wing. He didn’t know what to do. The tears were still silently falling.

“No, no no no no…. Not again…. Please Lucifer wake up!”

The glow brightened and it seemed as though the blood form his face and hands was completely gone. That was the best he could do he wasn’t the archangel of heeling after all….

The golden blood from his face was gone. Not the injury. The blood wasn’t stopping. His hands were healed and his shoulder was better. But his wing had no luck. It was sliced, the only thing that was holding it was the veins and feathers.

He was still down. He didn’t let anything happen to his brother. But he let his brother do anything, that happened to him. Michael probably had small cuts, which Lucifer felt bad for. But Lucifer had big cuts, slice and bruises. His brother was awake, but he was nowhere awake. His brother was up fine. But he wasn’t even moving his chest.

Vox shakes his head at Lilith:

"Your husband needs it more, I'm afraid."

Then he slowly approaches Michael from the side, carefully brushing the tips of his claws against archangel's shoulder.

"Do you have anyone in Heaven who can heal that?" he asks quietly. "Because I don't think we've learned it yet here - completely healing the angelic steel wounds."

He doesn't want to think about the fact that Pentagram City will turn into a flying shit storm the moment the King dies; that's when Satan and other Mortal Sins can try to claim the Pride Ring, and the Overlords, like himself, would need to fight back, and that all would be a fucking catastrophe. Well, of course, there is Lilith and Charlie, but who is loyal to them and who is not?

"Roo," Vox suddenly says. "If there is a single soul in Hell that knows how to fix that, it's her. Does any of you still have contact with her?"

Michael’s head is still spiraling. How could he do this? Had he not changed at all these past 10000 years? Or was he still the arrogant archangel who had ripped his own brothers wings off. He didn’t even feel the slight brush of Vox’s claws on his shoulder.

It took a bit to fully register what Vox had said. “I— she blocked me… I don’t really have a way to contract her. Maybe if I try hard enough I can heal heal him!”

Theoretically it was possible for Michael to heal Lucifer’s wounds, but it would take time and a lot of energy from him. Healing really wasn’t the archangel of wars specialty… but there was someone who had mastered it. the archangel of healing. (Who was also his little brother.)

“Raphael…” Michael muttered. “I need to call Raphael! He could fix this! How didn’t I think of this earlier!”

He hurriedly pulls up his phone and finds Raphael in his contact list. Please pick up, please pick up. He picked up.

“Her Raphael….” Michael said in a shaky voice. “I need you to come to hell as soon as possible. Drop everything, Samuel— LUCIFER needs you!”

After hearing his big brother’s shaky voice, which doesn’t happen often. He knew something was wrong. He didn’t flew to hell. He made a portal. The view was what he prayed not to see. A big brother with golden blood on his hands and weapon. And the other twin big brother, who was bleeding everywhere. He looked at Michael with disappointment and fear. He pushed Michael to the side, hands trembling.

WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME!!! He’s barely breathing. MICHAEL SAY SOMETHING!!!

He was so scared. He usually doesn’t get scared seeing open parts of bodies and things. But this time, this view remind him of 10000 years back.

His hands were still trembling. He healed the wound on Lucifer’s head, and stopped it from bleeding more. He took Lucifer’s jacket off, there was more cuts and wounds. He healed them one by one. And wrapped them. He took his shoulder and half way healed it. Wrapped it with a special wrap. If he healed it all the way, it might have different conclusions. Now it was time for the wing. His eye twitched again. His wing was barely holding on. He made a force shield around both of them. The force shield was filled with energy. Lucifer’s wing was back at it’s place again. But it was still broken. So Raphael made a special wrap. It was made from his own energy. But something was wrong.

My Samuel? Samuel… Samuel? LUCIFER!!!

He wasn’t waking up. Was there something different?? So Raphael made his sigil under Lucifer’s unmoving body. The sigil was spreading green light on Lucifer body. Slowly covering his entire body. The neon green eyes of Raphael turned back to normal and the sigil was gone.

Samuel? Raphael was about to touch Lucifer. He didn’t had to. Lucifer throw up golden blood and something black. Raphael started glowing green this time. And he pounced on Michael’s collar.

Michael felt a bit of relief after seeming Raphael heal Lucifer… well mostly. All the worry from his chest had left.

He didn’t react to Raphael’s punch in the neck just said. “I don’t know what happened…. I don’t remember anything… all I know is that I hurt him… it’s like I blacked out or something. I wish I could tell you I really do Raph but I just don’t know!” He quieted for a bit then added. “I’m sorry…”

Raphael pushed Michael from his collar. He took a deep breath. He has to be cold blooded at these times. Have a calm mind. So he can help.

Raphael pulled Michael to himself, and put his palm over Michael’s forehead. Trying to feel or see what happened before all these things. But he pushed Michael again. With a worried and frustrated face.

"He wore an exorcist mask," Vox points to the rests of the mask, uselessly scattered on the ground. "It glitched. He had this... ah, why am I spending words on that. Watch."

Vox uses his own screen to show Raphael everything - since the moment he, Vox, met Michael, and then - what his drones filmed; the ending of the fight with Lilith and the full fight with Lucifer.

"Maybe it was cursed?" there is a short shiver of disgust all over his body.

He's still a Sinner, Overlord or not, and he hates exorcist masks.

Vox shoots a glance in Lilith's direction. He is really worried; she seems almost catatonic, standing there in shock.

Lilith was barely registering what was happening around her.

There was blood. Her husband's blood. A lot of blood.

Her husband was dying.

Lucifer was dying.

Was this possible? Could this be possible? Was she still in an awful nightmare she could not wake up to?

Who had hurt him?

She remembered some feathers. Angels feathers.

Why? Why has Heaven hurt her husband?

Lucifer is going to die if you don't do something, Lilith, get a grip.

There were angel feathers around her, somehow. (Michael and a new angel, Raphael, but she wasn't able to figure out this).

Were they the ones that had hurt her husband like this?

Maybe.

Probably.

Surely.

Heaven did this.

As always, Heaven was at fault of breaking her family apart.

The corruption was gone, and the mask lay discarded nearby, cracked and ruined.

He had seen everything which had happened through Vox’s screen. Michael couldn’t believe it. He acted so horribly. He had killed sinners, chased Vox, attacked Lilith for no reason when she was trying to help and nearly killed his own twin.

Michael’s eyes widened as he looked around.

Lucifer was nearly dead, lying on the ground while Raphael was healing him. Lilith was there too and Michael knew about the altercation he’d had with her the , way he’d attacked her without hesitation. His gaze dropped to his hands.

“…I did this…I attacked all of you.”

He stared at his injured brother, completely devastated.

“I don’t remember everything clearly, but…I did this.” Michael’s expression twisted with guilt. “I’m sorry. I am so, so sorry.”

Well now you know, those who wear that mask are massacrers. You made them to do that. You saw what they do with your view now. You felt how it feels. You know what it cause.

Raphael never liked exorcists. He hated them. Especially for the reasons they take lives. Lives that doesn’t do anything bad to them. He always wanted to ask him, what he would do if that were to happen to his angels. I guess it was the time. He didn’t even raised his head off of his big brother, while asking.

The last question caught Michael off guard. “What am I gonna do? You expect me to what ? Get rid of the exorcists?! They are practically my children! They came from me!”

He didn’t continue with that argument just sat down next to Raphael and said. “If you need more light energy to heal him I can give some of mine….”

That’s was the least he could do after all he was the one who had caused all of this.

Raphael didn’t even listen to what he said. He just took in “practically my children”. Raphael rolled his eyes. And patted the ground next to him. Silently asking Michael to sit next to him. He didn’t wanna lose his concentration.

He pulled Michael behind Lucifer’s head. And showed him how to move and what to do.

Michael sat down next to Raphael and placed his fingertips on Lucifer’s temples and started concentrating. He focused on Lucifer’s mind, he was trying to wake him up, to heal him, while Raphael was focused on his physical injuries.

Raphael re-made his sigil on the ground. Under Lucifer again. They didn’t know if Lucifer was gonna wake up. In some cases Raphael saw some that doesn’t wake up. So he wanted Michael’s help. Lucifer is an archangel so he should be able to

It’s not enough to feel him. You have to wake it. Think of it like a body. It’s there you can feel it, but it’s not awake. So that doesn’t mean it’s good or bad. You have to make sure he wakes up.

Michael concentrated really, really heard trying to reach into Lucifer’s mind and wake him up. Swat was dripping from his forehead and his muscles were tense.

Lucifer slowly opened his eyes, everything was blury. But green light were everywhere. When his vision unblured he saw his little brother, working hard. He smiled a little looking at Raphael’s concentrated face.

Then he looked up to see Michael. Holding his head. No words came out but the look on his face had a voice. He was looking dead at Michael. With no emotions. What was he to feel?

Lucifer indeed “woke up” his eyes opened back. He was looking dead. But he was looking around at first. As he looked at Michael a headache hit him, and he started coughing.

Raphael’s calm but demanding voice was going to him. He heard, he hears but he can’t think or respond. And just like Raphael said Lucifer did throw up. It was golden. It was mixed with his blood.

Michael obeyed Raphael’s orders. He kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples channeling the light magic from his essence into Lucifer. He was scared, like really frightened.

“Raphael… you sure I’m doing this correctly he threw up blood.” That part made him want to stop but since Raphael told him to continue he did, after all he was a licensed doctor while Michael wasn’t.

I caused this… this is my fault, whether it was with my free will or not. He thought.

The blood is not coming from his head my Michael. It’s internal. I can feel it. It’s pretty damaged. I don’t know how much force you used. But he’s pretty damaged inside. So it’s normal. Even if he does throw up blood, I’m healing him.

Raphael then realizes. He never asked how his big brother was. Outside he looked fine. Than he looked at his other big brother on the floor. Without taking his hands off he asked.

He stopped and smiled hopefully. He raised his head. But he wasn’t looking at Lucifer or Michael this time. He was looking at someone else.

Lilith 'woke up' due to the new angel's voice. Not like she was asleep, of course not, but she had been so deep in her own thoughts that she had barely payed attention to her surroundings.

She only could see Lucifer coughing up golden blood. She could only think of how she would make every single angel pay after this.

Lilith raised her head and started to sing, a love song, one that Lucifer knew very well. Lilith sang this song many times in the past. When they found out she was pregnant, when the Morningstar's Palace had finished building, when they had been in a particular excellent date...

It was their love song.

Yet this time, unlike the many others in the past, it sounded sorrow and bitter...

Michael had kept his hands on Lucifer’s temples like Raphael instructed. That’s what he was doing… following instructions because that was the best he could do, considering there was a mess in his mind.

His head was spinning he felt immense guilt for what he had done. Fuck you eve … why? Why did you have to curse me …. I didn’t do anything to you! If you really wanted revenge then why didn’t you just hurt me?! Why did you make me hurt him?…. These questions were coming up as fast as the silent tears on his face, which were caused by the worry towards Lucifer and the exhaustion he felt do to channeling so much of his magical energy at once.

He must wake Lucifer, he must survive… because if he doesn’t … neither will Michael. They are twins and he won’t lose his other half ever again. More light came from his hands and Lilith’s singing was working too. Slowly relief started washing over Michael. Is it really working? Well there was only one way to find out.

Lilith stopped singing as soon as he heard his voice. It felt like she had not heard it in years, or decades.

"Lucifer...?" She caressed a lock of his hair, putting it behind an ear, without realizing a few of her tears were falling on him as well.

She had yet to realize she had been crying during all this time.

"Lucifer, my dear..." She whispered as she carefully incorporated him in a seated position, and then kissed him like if it had been their last.

He said that knowing he can’t even lift a finger. He was awake okay. He was okay and awake but he wasn’t able move his upper body.
