I don't know what the consequences would be if he dropped his PR team or the stunt today...but they have to be preferable to all of this drama and potential long term damage to his base that's happening now. Why did they (presumably) allow that question to be asked and published? Did they not realize the optics there? I mean...they have eyes everywhere so I can't imagine they didn't realize. They're spending way too much time orchestrating a pointless stunt and not enough on keeping him from saying stuff he probably shouldn't in the press. And all this like hours before the second single drops. Damn. His team is dropping the ball....HARD. I remember early on in me getting involved in this fandom I saw an old article in one of the pop culture sub Reddi about that pap walk Louis did with Sofie. A good half of the commenters literally only were happy about it because they wanted the Larries to be upset.

That’s such a fucked up way of being in a fandom and interacting with a musician and their content. To me that seems way more harmful than most of what the Larries fo.

People seem convinced we're getting another Larry denial during the Diary of a CEO podcast episode. If it happens? IDGAF, it's just further proof Larry is real. He says he hates the "conspiracies" so much but HE is playing a huge role in keeping the chatter going. (And yet everyone tries to pin it on the Larries.) Also? If you're worried about anything...be worried that Louis is going on a podcast with a host who has platformed antivaxxers, people giving questionable health information, and woman spouting anti-feminism rhetoric.

You know what? I’ve got time today.

There are two main reasons why AFHF is probably not doing as well as it has in past years. 1. He announced it far too late, and 2. Who he’s dating.

1. The US is fucking huge. He knows this, he’s been here a thousand times. What we need is TIME and MONEY to prepare for things. Most people who are fans of Louis who live in the US are working paycheck to paycheck and do not get a whole lot of time off to take. Most of that time off that we have is unpaid. Since AFHF is in Cooperstown, which is kind of in the middle of nowhere, that means most people have to travel at least 3+ hours to get there, and that’s being generous. Hotels have to be booked months in advance to prevent having to pay astronomical amounts to stay one or two nights, especially on a weekend when hotels jack up prices. Time off has to be put in weeks, sometimes months, in advance to guarantee it.

(It’s my understanding that festivals are planned months before they’re announced. Venues are confirmed, tickets are ready to go. He’s been running this festival for 5 years now, and I guess I expected that it would be planned out a little better than it was. That’s on me 🤷🏼‍♀️)

There are so many people, myself included, who had one shot to go to this, and because he waited so long to announce it, we planned other things or we just can’t justify spending $1000+ to travel, stay, and pay for the festival ticket when we need it for rent and food. (Yes. It is that much for a LOT of fans. Yes, the housing and food crisis here really is that bad. Do the research if you don’t believe me.) If he had announced it back in July, or even in August, I think he would be having a better turnout from US-based fans. (Then you add in the political climate here, which will deter most international fans from wanting to come, but that’s not really his fault so I just throw it in there for context 😅)

2. Whether he is dating her out of his own desire or out of obligation to contracts has no bearing in this conversation because Zara is simply … not a good person. She has been racist, xenophobic, and homophobic in the past, and has continued to push those thought processes recently as well. I didn’t even have to watch a second of her documentary to know it was going to end poorly. She is the exact opposite of everything we have grown to know Louis for, and in an age where people crave authenticity, that puts a damper on things. Louis has always been open and honest about the type of person he is and the things he holds close and dear to his heart, and to see him actively spend time endorsing what she’s doing isn’t giving him any points with old or new fans alike. I’m not saying he’s a saint by any means, but the clear divide that should exist between who they are at their cores that seems, according to the media, to not exist at all, puts a sour taste in people’s mouths.

Best case scenario is it’s a PR relationship which is not helping either of their images. Worst case scenario is Louis is not who his fans thought he was. Neither option is a good one 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have no desire to see Louis or his endeavors fail. I love this man. I am typing this with a Louis merch shirt on. I have multiple tattoos for him on my body. He has made me a better person and I will always be grateful for that. But I can be annoyed too. I can disagree with things he says or does. It doesn’t make me a bad person or a bad fan. It makes me a human with independent thought who wants the best for him and hasn’t been seeing it the last few months.

I’m not telling you what to believe or what to think. I’m just a US fan who has been a fan for 15 years and is exhausted with the way off hot takes that always seem to put other fans down when, at the most basic level, it has nothing to do with fans at all.

Not to be all delusional, but a quiet anniversary is what you have when you are in a long term partnership. The days melt into months and the months into years and you are still just there for that person. there are no grand gestures, not like the early days, but your love for the person has not waned. It is present, just like you are for all their major milestones. You don’t overdecorate a massive Christmas tree, but you get them socks with an inside joke. Or that baking dish they so desperately have been asking for. Anniversary presents include a silent candlelit dinner at a restaurant they have frequented over the years, not because it’s fancy or costs $$$$, but because of the memories that have been made there over the years. It’s silent, yet so loud, by virtue of just being present and there for each other.
