I’m gonna start role playing, so block the #rp tag if you don’t want to see that sort of thing!
I just started watching Yellowstone, and damn, I wanna be like Beth Dutton. I wanna chase wolves while screaming at the top of my lungs and holding a bottle of whiskey. I wanna bathe naked outdoors in a tin tub in front of a bunch of dudes on my father’s ranch because I don’t give two fucks. I wanna get punched in the face by my older brother because I’m daddy’s favorite and everyone believes I killed my mother.
I promised my new look so here I am 😭
Being an empath is hard. Today was emotionally draining.
Gretchen sat on top of the brits in one of the examination rooms of Forks Hospital, waiting for her doctor. It was time for one of their check ups again.
Dr. Cullen hadn't been the one that made the surgery on her when she got her new heart - they had called in a specialist from Seattle that time but he had been her doctor ever since she got the clear that her body seemed to have accepted the new heart and that her way to recovery could begin.
A way which of course meant she had to take medication every day for the rest of her life to prevent a rejection of the new heart, a prominent scar in the middle of her chest from where they had split her open and a new sensitivity to the sun because of the meds. She had jokingly told Dr. Cullen it was a good thing she lived in Forks then, where the sun shined about one week out of every year.
He had actually chuckled at that after a small hesitation. "Yes, one might not believe it but Fork's weather can do good as well."
Just then the door opened and he came in. "Hello, Dr. Cullen," she greeted him. "I'm still alive."
Jasper Whitlock was proud of himself. Each day it was getting easier and easier to be around humans. Even bleeding humans. He went to the local high school Monday through Friday posing as a teenager. If the scent of humans became too much for him, he stayed home a day or two to rebuild his strength. But those days were few and far between now. He was making such progress.
On weekends, when he felt up to it, Jasper would go with his adoptive father, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, to the hospital where he worked, to build his strength around blood and bleeding humans too. Today was one such day.
Carlisle explained he was meeting with a particularly fragile patient today. This girl had had a heart transplant. Modern medicine was wild. This kind of thing wouldn’t have been possible when Jasper was actually alive. But that didn’t matter.
All that mattered to Jasper at the moment he followed Carlisle into the room was the stunningly beautiful human girl resting on the gurney in front of him.
“Oh!” Gretchen exclaimed as she saw that Dr. Cullen had someone else with him today. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know ...”
She looked from Dr. Cullen to the other man. Maybe he was a medical student? But then he had to be a freshman at the most - the guy seemed to be twenty at the most. And what’s more ... he was ... beautiful. More like something out of painting of the Greek gods than someone you’d met in Forks.
Honey blonde curls, pale skin, tall and clearly strong but built more like a long distance runner than a body builder. She frowned when she noticed his eyes though - they were the same shade as Dr. Cullen. Were they related?
Carlisle noted the look of shock on Gretchen’s face. “Oh I’m sorry, Gretchen,” he said politely. “This is my son, Jasper, and he’s accompanying me today. Jasper is looking into getting into medicine himself” Carlisle shot Jasper a pointed glance “after he’s done with school, so he likes to shadow me on the weekends sometimes.”
Jasper gave a shy but gentlemanly smile at Gretchen. “Hello,” he said. He could feel the waves of her apprehension radiating off of her, so he sent some calming vibes her way.
“I guess you two wouldn’t have met yet at school since you’re still being homeschooled, Gretchen, am I correct?” Carlisle asked.
“Oh,” Gretchen said, smiling at Jasper. “Hello, nice too meet you, Jasper.”
She wanted to hold out her hand for him to shake but she didn’t because she was still at high risk for infections so she best keep her hands to herself. “I’m sorry for not shaking but you probably understand why,” she added with another smile. “And yes, they sent me the curriculum and I’m doing as best as I can. English, history and social studies is quite easy but ... I could really use a teacher for math and science, especially since I tire out quickly.”
She shrugged, instinctively rubbing over the angry scar that started at the top of her chest. Dr. Cullen had promised it would fade with time but never go away completely.
Jasper carefully listened with compassion to every word Gretchen had to say about her struggles and her condition. He watched her briefly touch the small yet still visible tip of what he knew would be a long scar down the length of her chest underneath her shirt. The thought of Gretchen’s bare chest made Jasper squirm ever so slightly with excitement.
After hearing Gretchen talk about struggling with Math and Science, Jasper shot a quick look at Carlisle before clearing his throat quietly and saying, “I would be happy to help tutor you in Math and Science, Gretchen, if you would like.” He bowed his lightly at her with a charming smile, willing her to be at ease with his suggestion.
Carlisle gave an appreciative smile to his son. “That’s a wonderful idea, son. But only if Gretchen feels up for that. I don’t want her to push herself too hard.”

EVAN PETERS as KAI ANDERSON in AHS: CULT ( 1 / ∞ )
↳ “Ep.01 – Election Night”
Take a Chance (Kit Walker x Male!Reader)
Notes: This is a repost (I haven’t edited it) of an old fic of mine. You might find it floating around underneath a deactivated username.
In a time where love was not free of judgment, you found yourself uncaring of what society thought the more in tune with yourself that you became, the more in touch with your feelings about who you were as a person and about the people around you. Finding someone with like views was near impossible as most who felt the same often tried to keep hidden away in the shadows away from the piercing eyes of the public and out of grasp of the law. Perhaps that was why you found yourself so drawn to the mechanic whose name had become infamous in the small rural subcommunity for a false pretense of a string of murders that’d had him locked away in a place of which you had only heard horrific stories.
When the ad had been put out for a live in nanny to help care for two young kids who had both been robbed of their mothers and now relied solely on their father, you’d had your reservations about reaching out for the position, knowing that many would turn you away the moment you stepped foot on their property due to how uncomfortable people were with having a man taking station in a position that was seen widely as a job for a woman. But the family had welcomed you into their lives with little reservations of their own and it was then that you knew you were meant to be there, to be a part of their family in time, that it was your calling to help out the single father of two and make sure the children were cared for so he could find time of his own to unwind and relax and not have as many worries burdening his shoulders which already carried the astounding weight of his past, present, and future.

Condemned from the Start (Austin Sommers x Harry Gardner)
Request (anonymous): hey!! i really love one of your fanfics with kit. your writing style is cool :). if you ship harstin (austin sommers × harry gardner).. can i ask you to write a fanfic about them? fluff, smut, angst, whatever. there’s no content for these bfs ugh
Warnings: Murder, blood
Notes: I am an avid Harstin shipper! I never finished the season (I never saw the finale), but I feel like they slept on such a good opportunity. I hope this work is okay. I had a vision in mind, but I’m afraid I wasn’t able to execute it very well. I’m also not very pleased with how I portrayed Austin or how short this is. I’m very sorry for the abrupt ending and for the ridiculously long wait.
The premise for this fic was inspired by “Bloodlust” by @americxn!
Harry thought he knew what to expect when it came to the enigmatic author. Their deal was pretty clean-cut, though their relationship had always been a bit more muddled. More than acquaintances but not quite friends. Definitely not the partnership Doris would approve of if she had known.
He pulled up his hood and trekked up the path to the modern house where Austin spent his winters. With both him and Alma relying on the black pills, his supply lasted only half as long as it should have and was running low once again. Harry worried they would start becoming suspicious of how quickly he was going through the pills, but he was more worried of what would happen if they stopped taking them now.

I was tagged by the lovely @words-of-holly to make a picrew. This is the closest rendition of me I could come up with and I like it! Once I get my hair dyed black tonight, I will actually post an updated selfie. 💙
My brain is going haywire and I can’t function. Somebody send help.

How is this happening to me again? I didn’t ask for this, and yet, I’m shit at stopping it apparently. I’m better than I used to be, but not good enough it seems.
This mini-crisis ended surprisingly really well and I’m really damn proud of myself. 2023 is off to a great start so far, and I’m hopeful. 💙
