Because some people don’t understand I’ll say it again. Some otherkin don’t believe they actually are the thing they just relate to the thing or strongly identity with it.

I do agree that Therians can use the term Otherkin if they wish to.

Though, strongly identifying with something is not the same as identifying as it.

Other-hearted and Otherkin are not concepts that are interchangeable. They are two different things.

Therian and otherkin are both “identify as”. Some therians use otherkin because otherkin is sometimes used to refer as identifying as any creature.

Other-hearted on the other hand, is “strongly identify with”. It’s not a synonym for otherkin, or vice versa. Using otherkin because one “prefers it” is calling oneself by a term that means something pretty different purely because it sounds or feels better. Otherkin means you think you actually are the thing. Bear that in mind if choosing to use it.
