Hello! I'm Ribbiter, I'm currently 20 years old and I go by any pronouns. I don't care whatever gendered terms you use for me. I'm both an artist and a writer, but I will mainly be posting writing-related stuff here (I will only be posting art if it has directly to do with my writing/aus). I'm not very familiar with using tumblr, so please be patient with me!
The main objective of this blog is for me to dump my ideas, because I get WAY too many ideas, and its difficult to utilise and translate each one into a fanfic. Alongside that, I will also be talking about the fics I'm currently writing/working on, any wips I abandoned etc.
I become obsessed with stuff really easily so I gain a new interest like almost every week. Right now, I'm obsessed with Eddsworld, Dr Stone, Enstars and Idoly Pride. I'm into some other things, just to name a few: Show By Rock, Bang Dream, From Argonavis, D4DJ, Charisma House, Paradox Live, The Amazing Digital Circus, Fionna and Cake, The Owl House, Scum Villain's Self-Saving System etc. One day I will write a comprehensible list with all my interests, but that day is not today. I don't write about every single interest, as writing is very personal to me and I need to be really obsessed with the interest to actually write about it.
The tags I will be using are…in the tags! Do note that I may talk about certain ideas/aus/headcanons multiple times, and it's very possible that these will have their own tag (such as my idoly pride x enstars crossover au which is tagged as IdolyStars).
Tord knows how to take care of himself, however he's lazy, especially when it comes to his hair. It gets greasy really easily, and requires a lot of maintenance, so he usually just ignores it until it gets unbearable or until he needs to look presentable.
He is not a main vocalist but he sings quite often. He rarely ever sings solo, instead he typically sings in a duet with either Edd or Matt. It's very rare that he duets with Tom, since Tom's voice overpowers his.
His choreography looks the smoothest from everyone in the group, only because Tord doesn't overthink the moves (like Edd) nor does he get too excitable (like Matt). Because of this, he tends to lead the choreography during practise sessions alongside making any adjustments necessary to make their dances flow better.
Tord has an ongoing prank war with Edd, where the two prank each other during lives, shows, events etc. Tord's pranks tend to be elaborate, since he often makes use of his engineering capabilities to prank Edd (even though Matt and Tom are not part of the prank wars, they have fallen victim to their pranks on numerous occasions).
Unless he's hanging out with Edd or Matt, or fighting with Tom, Tord usually stays inside his room. He doesn't isolate himself like Tom does, he's just an introvert. Inside his room, he either naps, reads manga, watches anime, plays videogames or smokes.
Edd, Matt, Tom and Tord are practising their newest song's choreography, but it's not going well at all. Everyone's off. Edd keeps messing up the order of the dance, Tom's rhythm is a bit too fast , and Matt and Tord keep bumping into each other.
At first, they all just retry the sections they're struggling in, but after 30 whole minutes of non-stop failure, the frustration boils over. Surprisingly, and rather uncharacteristically, it's Matt who gets frustrated. Almost everyone is shaken up by it, because it's Matt. Matt isn't meant to get upset, he's meant to be cheerful idiot that encourages them. That has always been his role. But not this time. This time, he's upset and no one knows what to do about it.
The only one who isn't too shaken up by Matt's anger is Tom. If anything, it looked like he expected it.
Tom heads over to Edd and asks him if they can stop for today. Edd is the leader so he calls the shots. He looks over at Matt, who is crouched down, panting as tears streaked down his face. They were meant to practise for much longer, for at last another hour or two, but seeing Matt's state, Edd agrees. It's not like they could continue practising anyway.
Then, Tom heads over to Matt. He crouches down near him and whispers something to him. Edd and Tord just watch, both mesmerised at how Tom manages to calm down Matt so easily, like it was something he'd done a million times. Not only was Matt showing a different side of himself, but so was Tom.
Matt is fully calmed down after a few minutes, and he's almost back to his normal self - almost. The tear streaks are still evidently fresh on his face and his smile is smaller than usual. They both stand up together, with Matt using Tom as his crutch.
"We're going to the arcade, you can join if you want," Tom says. Edd and Tord just look at each other in both confusion and astonishment, before looking back at Tom and nodding.
The quartet go to a semi-unpopular arcade, where they relax and simply enjoy the rest of the day playing games together. The experience lightens everyone's mood and so, when the next day arrives, they're all in top-condition to practise with little to no mistakes.
Pairing: Grelle Sutcliff x Lilian Sutcliff (GrelLily)
Characters: Grelle Sutcliff & Lilian Sutcliff
Words: 693
Summary: After a terribly long and boring soul collection shift, Grelle & Lily finally reunite on a rooftop...
Divider credits
Another night of soul collection came to an end once Lily marked the last soul they were scheduled to reap that might as completed.
Thankfully this was a slower night with no overtime involved but it was still boring and tiring, so she was just relieved that her shift was finally over.
However that quiet relief on the rooftop was quickly interrupted - in a good way - when she caught sight of a familiar red in the corner of her eye followed by a just as familiar
“LILYYYYY!!!!”
Without warning or much time to react, Lily found herself tackled to the rooftop by none other than her wife. Grelle immediately leaned in to her shoulder, taking in her lover's scent, and
“Look at how fate is on our side once again, our shifts not only ending at the same time but so close together??? Truly romantic!!” Grelle went on one of her usual tangents as she pressed little kisses to her wife's neck and cheek “How I missed you! It's been far too long, my darling!!!!”
They'd only actually been separated for a couple hours but that was a long time for two clingy reapers
“Happy to see you too, darling…!” Even if Grelle kind of was squishing her right now, it was the sort of mild discomfort she didn't exactly mind, actually it was comforting in a way “I missed you too, my rose!”
Grelle made an excited-happy noise at the usage of one of the many nicknames Lily had for her, her cheeks going the shade of her most favourite colour.
Once again without any warning, because Grelle rarely ever gave warning for anything she did, she pressed her lips to her wife's.
Lily, far too used to this by now, kissed her back and reached up to gently stroke her gloves fingers through Grelle's red hair.
When they pulled away, Grelle finally got off Lily and stood. She dusted herself off before once again going off on one of her tangents, this time about how terrible her shift this night was.
Lily however completely tuned out what was actually being said though. Not because she hated listening to Grelle, quite the opposite actually. Simply because she was admiring her wife's beauty as she sat cross legged on that rooftop now.
Everything about Grelle was so beautiful…even when she was complaining about something.
“Oh and don't even get me started on the records I had to view! What a bore, not a single one had even a decent love life!!”
“Huh…?” Lily blinked when addressed directly.
Grelle frowned, folding her arms “Have you been listening to a single word I said??”
“Of course!” Lily then paused when Grelle gave her that look that said she wasn't buying it “Alright, no. But in my defense…you are very beautiful so could you even blame me for admiring you instead???”
Grelle paused, her expression going blank for just a second.
Then she of course freaked out after hearing that.
“OH LILY!!!!” She grabbed her wife, pulling Lily to her feet so she could hug her. Tightly. “My sweet little petal, you do know just how to get into a lady's heart don't you?~”
“Grellie maybe not so tight-”
That request was ignored as Grelle only held on tighter. Not that Lily minded too much.
“I could simply die from your sweet words, my darling!!” Grelle finally released Lily from her tight embrace “We simply MUST relocate for the second act!!!”
“What second act…?”
Grelle looked at her as if she should know exactly what she was talking about, playfully leaning in and poking Lily's cheek “Home for a warm shower together and cuddles of course!! Maybeee a littleeeee more kissing…~”
“Oh…couldn't you just say that-”
Lily was cut off by Grelle suddenly taking her into her arms causing the other reaper to shriek “Grelle?! I can walk by myself!!”
Of course Grelle just ignored that as she held Lily tightly in her arms while she began jumping the rooftops to head back to their home.
Well…she did sort of ignore her wife earlier so maybe it was only fair that Grelle got her turn now…
In this AU, he's been a monster since he was a kid. He's always hid his monstrous traits, even more now considering that he is an idol and could be identified by them, however his agency decided that his monster traits would make good money.
When it comes to singing, he tends to have the least amount of lines. During shows/events etc., he also does not talk much. Non-fans find him weird, cold and distant. His fans don't care that he's silent and instead they'll just go feral when he DOES talk.
He's the only one that actively plays an instrument in the group because, well, they're idols, not a band. Tom really wanted to include Susan in their performances though so, yeah he gets to have her on stage (approved by their agency). Because of her, his choreography tends to be simpler/includes her.
Tom's the main composer + lyricist, though he's often helped out by Matt. Unfortunately, they get into squabbles often due to having different artistic views (the agency does have the final say on the composition + lyrics though, which simplifies things a bit).
He's still an alcoholic, however he does not frequent bars/pubs. Instead, Tom relies on Edd and Matt to buy him alcohol, which means that they have "blackmail" over him. He has almost never relied on Tord because he does not trust him.
Death note esque AU where heavenly demons can see how much time a person thinks they have left to live.
When Luo Binghe spots Shen Qingqiu in Jin Lang city he’s absolutely shocked to discover a mere 2 or 3 (how much was it) years left on Shizun’s counter. What had happened in the time he was gone? Did without a cure get worse? Was it something else?
Worried to pieces he hurries over to his master. Except once said master lays eyes upon him—while outwardly calm—his counter starts to glitch showing only minutes left, then seconds, then months, zero, seconds again and so on.
Luo Binghe had seen that before. On his enemies moments before he killed them.
Edd, Matt, Tom and Tord are all part of the same idol group, aiming for the top together. Their theme would be of outcasted princes. The prince theme is a very basic one, however their idol group would be far from basic. They're not presenting as just normal idol princes, but as outcasted ones which is already quite different from the norm. Also, this is the Eddsworld cast, so they would not be able to act all proper and princely even if their life depended on it (minus Matt, but even that's debatable sometimes).
Their music would be a mix of j-pop and v-kei; not heavy enough to scare the average idol fan away, thus leaning into the princely concept, but their music would still be different enough that they'd stand out, thus leaning into the outcasted concept.
Tord eventually leaves, because it's Tord, and he'd form his own idol group with its main theme being the military. Essentially, his group aims to crush down Edd's group and rise to the top instead. Considering the theme + why Tord would leave in the first place, their music would be far heavier and much more experimental compared to Edd's group.
TordTom highschool au where Tord has a girlfriend that Tom really hates but he doesn't know exactly why. She's cute, she's smart and she's a good person. Overall, she's a great match for Tord. Tom should be happy that his best friend found someone like her, someone who would treat him so good, but he isn't.
He keeps his dislike hidden, for the sake of not ruining his friendship with Tord, but also not to ruin their relationship. As much as Tom dislikes her, Tord loves her. He's happy with her, because of her. And Tom? Well, he doesn't want to be the reason that Tord no longer smiles.
They kinda drift apart. Not fully, they're still best friends, but Tom notices how Tord is spending more time with her than with him. Even when they are hanging out together, she often tags along, uninvited. It's never just the two of them anymore.
Tom hates it. He hates her. He hates their relationship. He hates how she stole Tord away from him.
He just wants his best friend back.
But Tom continues to say nothing because even though he hates their stupid relationship, he's a good supportive friend. (In fact, he's already decided that he's gonna be Tord's best man during their wedding, despite the fact that just the idea of them marrying makes his heart painfully twist).
Tord ends up finding out though. It takes a few months, sure, and it only happens because Tom's a blabbermouth when he's drunk. It's during when they're hanging out together, just the two of them for once. Tom gets drunk and ends up confessing everything. He groans about her, about how she's stealing Tord away from him, about how she replaced him. And suddenly, his face gets hot and he's crying and Tom doesn't understand why he's crying, he just is.
Tord just listens. He looks surprised but he doesn't say anything. He tries to, but Tom keeps on rambling and rambling and he just can't interject, until he finally has enough. He grabs Tom by the shoulder, but Tord does it a bit too rough because Tom thinks he's going to hurt him, so he attacks him first. Suddenly they're fighting, until Tord manages to pin Tom down. They're both out of breathe, tired and upset (for very different reason), but Tom keeps struggling and struggling, trying to get out of Tord's hold. Finally Tord has enough and kisses him rather roughly. It takes Tom by surprise, but it doesn't take long for him to kiss back and oh-...
That's why he disliked her and their relationship so much, why he felt so jealous of her.
Tom likes Tord!!!
But wait, what about Tord's girlfriend? Isn't this cheating? Well, not that Tom actually cares about homewrecking. He's too drunk and desperate to care. Right now, all he can think about is getting Tord closer and closer because he's just not close enough.
He can deal with the wreckage when he's sober.
(Eventually, Tom will learn that Tord's relationship with his girlfriend was never that great or healthy, and the only reason Tord stuck with her was because he didn't want her to hurt him, herself or others).
Eddsworld x Dr Stone Au where Edd, Tord, Tom and Matt revive at the same time, after the 2nd petrification event (they revive around the same time as Suika). The four of them "invent"...stuff. Not very good stuff, it's all barely functional, but it's enough to help them survive this strange stone world.
All four of them are also going through crazy withdrawals. Edd misses his cola, Tord misses his cigars and hentai, Tom misses his alcohol, and Matt misses his face. Actually, Matt can just use water to stare at himself and he absolutely does, but he specifically misses the way mirrors perfectly reflect his face.
The DCST cast is doing their thing in the meantime (mainly its just Suika running around, trying to revive the others). Eventually the EW quarter and the DCST cast do meet during the Globetrotting arc, but that's in many years. In the meantime, the EW cast suffers.
Next part of Idoly Stars hopefully coming out sometime next week, I was unfortunately super busy plus I also became hyperfixated on eddsworld again, and it's been haunting my brain ✌️
"Jeez, who reacts like that to a cute ghost like me?" Mana pouted once Mayoi was calm enough to talk to. He squirmed slightly, unable to retort back properly. Instead, he apologised rather incessantly;
"I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
Mana let out a sigh, which caused Mayoi to finally shut his mouth and instead whimper a few times. If she didn't know any better, Mana would think that he was a dog, not a human.
Mana then proceeded to stare at him for a few seconds. She was curious as to how the other could see her. Kohei seeing her made sense, since the two had spent way too much time together as idol and manager, plus their bond was so deep that they easily understood each other with no verbal cues.
But Mayoi having the ability to see her? This person who she had never seen before prior to this day?
It didn't make sense.
Although Mana was very curious and did intend to find out why, she first needed to encourage him to go to the stage and perform with his group. Only after would she seek out her answers (plus, she wanted to see how this anxious man would perform on the stage).
"You need to head out there. Your groupmates and manager are looking for you."
"I can't," Mayoi responded, burying himself further in his knees, "I can't do it."
"What do you mean you can't? You've performed live before haven't you?"
"A few times...But we never had so many people watching us before. What if I mess up? What if I ruin the performance for everyone?" his words came out muffled. Mana wanted to sigh again, but she managed to keep it in. She understood his nervousness, even she felt it a few times when the audience was bigger than she expected.
"You might mess up, and you might not. You might give a perfect performance with no mistakes. And if do you mess up, you just keep singing and dancing and giving your best performance. You give it your all until your song's over. Most of the audience won't notice your mistakes unless you make it obvious," Mana said as she floated down and sat next to him. Mayoi was silent for a moment before looking up at her, causing Mana to smile at him.
"You might make a ton of mistakes and you might fail, yes, but you might also make no mistakes and you might win the MALE NEXT VENUS Grand Prix. So don't give up just yet, okay?" she continued. Mayoi nodded along, agreeing to her words much to Mana's delight.
"Mn, you're right. If I stay here, I'll only be letting everyone down," Mayoi mumbled as he stood up, looking resolute. Before exiting the room, through an unconventional vent, he turned back to Mana.
"Thank you, Miss Ghost."
"Good luck!" Mana responded back, watching him leave. She sat there for a few seconds before getting up and making her way to the backstage. She saw Mayoi reunite with his unit, and each member looked relieved in their own way.
Finally, the announcer came on stage, signaling the start of the MALE NEXT VENUS Grand Prix. Mana excitedly floated towards the audience, wanting to experience the show with the same view as the fans. She patiently waited, eager to see every idols' performance, especially of Mayoi and his unit.
The MALE NEXT VENUS Grand Prix took place in the same venue as the NEXT VENUS Grand Prix, yet the stage was decorated much differently. The venue itself was slowly filling up, with excited fans curious to see who would win the 12th MALE NEXT VENUS Grand Prix.
Mana stared in wonder around the venue, taking in the familiar sights. There was a gaggle of female fans at the front, giggling to each other about their favourite male idols. Next to them sat a middle-aged woman who held onto two blue lightsticks, anticipating her oshi coming to the stage.
The stage was empty, beaconing the idols to come on and wow everyone with their performance. Mana gazed at it with sad nostalgia. The worst part about being a ghost was that she could no longer perform. No one would hear her songs, her feelings, anymore (except for Kohei, since she often sung to him).
She quickly shook her head. It was no use getting sad over it now. Mana had already accepted her death and she wasn't too keen on unpacking her emotions again.
Instead, she floated backstage out of curiosity. Many of the workers backstage were rushing around, doing the last few checks of the equipment. Some of the idols were already out of their waiting rooms, with their managers by their side, going through the final preparations. There were also some other managers talking with one another, discussing who knows what.
There was a particular trio that caught Mana's eyes. They were going around, frantically asking the others if they had seen someone called "Mayoi Ayase"; a tall idol with braided purple hair. Alongside them, there was a young looking woman, looking just as panicked.
With just a little bit more of investigating, Mana found out that they were a barely 1-year-old idol group called Alkaloid, managed by one of the largest idol companies, Ensemble Square. They were going to be performing second, except one of their idols went missing and could not be found.
Mana debated whether or not she'd stick around them, but she ultimately decided that she wanted to find out where this "Mayoi"-person went. He couldn't have gone far, and with her ghostly powers (if you could even call them powers), she wouldn't take long to find him.
And she was right. After a minute or two of floating from room to room, Mana finally stumbled upon a inconspicuous storage room. At first she didn't think she'd find him there, but he was indeed there. Tucked in a corner, hidden by some shelves, was a human ball of anxiety. Mayoi was sitting on the floor, knees brought up to his chest and his head buried between them.
Mana watched him for a moment, her eyebrows furrowing in pity. This man, who she could tell preferred sticking to the shadows (Mana could easily tell because both Kohei and her younger sister were just like that), had stepped forward into the light and debuted as an idol, and yet now, he couldn't take the next step. There was this strange feeling in her chest, that made her want to burst out at him, to tell him to not give up.
So, she did. Maybe it was silly, and she knew that he wouldn't be able to hear her, but Mana still wanted to try to get her feelings across.
"Don't give up now! Your unitmates, your manager, all your fans! They're waiting for you!"
He went still and suddenly, he looked straight at her. Mana was taken aback at the sudden eye-contact. His already-pale face drained of colour as he looked her up and down, before finally shouting out with a stutter:
