when you start watching a new show and immediately get attached to a character
“maybe if you went to bed earlier you wouldn’t be so tired”
Priest : Do you read to your children from the holy book?
Me : yes
Priest : What is their favourite part?
Me : when frodo destroys the ring.

Hobbit
Hobbit - “hole builder” (old norse)
“According to Tolkien, “hobbit” derives from the Old Norse words hol (hole) and bytla (builder). However, some sources claim the Middle English word hobbe to be the origin, as the prefix hob- was fairly common in English folklore for describing a creature-like appearance (e.g. ‘Hobgoblin’)” -http://banbaladin.tumblr.com/
holbytla is what the hobbits are called by the Rohirrim, according to Tolkien (LOTR appendices).
Hobbits do have their own language, actually, however stunted in development it may be from Tolkien neglecting its formation. There’s only a small list of words and some grammar notes tacked onto a page for Westron, but it’s by Helge K. Fauskanger, who runs the Ardalambion website on Tolkien languages.
kuduk “hobbit”, used in the hobbit dialect only; other speakers of Westron used the term banakil “halfling” (Appendix F, final notes)
“May the grace of the Valar protect you!”
“You finished it.”
“Not quite. There’s room for a little more.”
“We few had survived…”
I’ve thought of an ending for my book. “And he lived happily ever after… to the end of his days.”
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
