Tauriel Appreciation Week ✫ Day three: Favourite outfit “One of the things we knew we had to accomplish was of course she has to be feminine, and she had to be Elven. But she was a military… She is the head of the Elven guard. She’s the head of the Silvan guard, and as a result, she also has to be prepared for battle at any moment. So we were bringing in elements of, you know, sort of military, almost, attire. So she wears this [bodice so] it’s this leather breastplate essentialy. And all of her, all of Tauriel’s clothing is made out of either leather or suede so it’s very durable and very strong and protective. And she has these gauntlets that she wears that are also protective. And actually, when I went into battle for real, when we were doing the stunts, my protective clothing was helpful because it actually protected me. And there are moments when I think ‘Oh, if I didn’t have this on, I would be in a lot more pain right now.’ So that was Tauriel’s look. A4 Fanart Portrait of Thranduil from The Hobbit. I used WHSmith Sketch Pencils and a white UniBall gel pen on 80gsm smooth off white paper. Took approximately 2.5 hours in total.

The Elves were the first of Eru’s children to awaken under a starlit sky and venture into Middle Earth. As tall as men and slender and gifted, they are described as the fairest and most skilled creatures in Arda. They were marked for an insatiable curiosity and a desire of learning and creating, and were lovers of nature, holding a great fondness for the sea and the stars, and especially the water. Elves are immortal and resistant to disease and are not subject to physical aging, although they may be killed in battle or by losing the will to live.
