The best gift that I have ever received and the world has ever received.
At the end of the day He is the one who deserves all adoration, glory and worship. I love "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". I've been meditating on the lyrics in verse 3:
Yea, Lord, we greet thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be glory given!
Word of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing!
And man i was blown away by this. how often have i sung Christmas hymns without knowing the depth of what i'm singing. This year there was something different when i sang it, like this resound awe of 'OH MY GOODNESS, He CHOSE to humble himself and be born as a human. What the heck!? and He loves us to come and serve us". I keep thinking why?! (in a good way, i'm so struck by His goodness)
So when i sing this song, i don't ever want to sing or make covers for my own benefit or glory. Me and my friends really are singing this to Jesus saying "Happy Birthday, We Adore You!". At the end of the day this life, all life, is about His story and about Jesus and His great love.
Yes it is such a powerful day, a celebration.
To Jesus I say: it's Your birthday! Teach me how to adore You to a greater measure, for the world to revere Your holy name. Help me unlearn my familiarity with all things Christmas and relearn the awe, power, and gift that is Jesus on this day. I love You!
So, to whoever reads this blog post and sings with us: take time to soak in the awe and reverence of what it means that Jesus came fully human, and fully divine as a baby! He loves us, He loves You. And then give it back to Him, give Him back your adoration.
God is in a good mood. :)
love you guys,
FOR THE KINGDOM!
