🎶they’re on HRT again, supporting each other till the end. i’m gonna take testosterone shots ALL DAY LONG! two trans guys on the run, making trouble having fun, Shaggy and Scooby Doo GET TRANSGENDER🎶
You and I agree on many things
very strange to be a fan of a "classic" thing bc like. its overrated. its underrated. everyone knows OF it but its a toss up if theyve actually ever engaged with it. you want to talk to everyone about how good it is but its so culturally ingrained that everyone waves off your glowing review as "well duh, its [classic thing]". its dismissed and overlooked BECAUSE it is so good. you cant find anyone to talk to about it except for deranged ppl on tumblr bc the masses havent actively thought about it in 30 years. its been referenced in every form of media since it released. no one gives it a second thought. youre going crazy.

all roads lead back to Scooby Doo if you think about it hard enough
Random shout-out to history nerd/ black american history expert Tina from the Hanna-Barbera educational film strips.

I'm actually planning on doing something based on this later on, that I want to keep a bit of a surprise for now. As well as being tempted to make animatics similar to this instead of full animations, for my Persona mods. But I havent decided that yet.
OMG EOMEONE ELSE WHO KNOWS TINA YESSSS
compilation of drawings for a vaphne kingdom AU (loosely inspired by sword and the scoob, and the "greece is the word" ep from be cool, scooby-doo) something i was doing last year with @artistic-mathematics :D
here's fred and shaggy :D fred is the chief strategist and velma's confidant/closest friend. shaggy is fred's most trusted scout (along with his loyal hound, scooby), who is sent to covertly investigate the identity of the mysterious sir blake
It may be a drastic change from classic portrayal [edit: apparently 90s onwards have been doing this. I've been bingging the older and forgot modern characterization], but I like the idea of re-envisioning Shaggy as someone into horror movies but balks at "real" monsters.
Also a friend suggested a sight gag of them sitting down to watch a movie and when the lights turn on the monster of the week is next to them.
A more general background in film could also allow more references he and Scooby do to befuddle and confuse monsters, or even criticize aspects of a villain's plan like when in old series he implied the Wax Phantom's deathtrap was too derivative and unoriginal.
Would be careful not to flanderize though, and his focus should probably be on cinematography rather than practical effects.
edit:
huh, apparently its common in newer media. I've been binging parts of the Scooby Doo Movies series and it has a lot of weirdness thats muddled my memories
Velma's in college in one episode and went to a different high-school than rest of gang.
IN one episode Shaggy is clearly scarred of movie but I guess it was just more the weirdness.
You wouldn’t happen to remember which episode Velma is in college, would you?

Oh this is delicious
Silly comic time
Tubi has announced ‘YOKOSO SCOOBY-DOO!’, the franchise’s first original anime series. The show follows Scooby-Doo and Shaggy’s adventures in Japan. Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard will reprise their roles as Scooby-Doo and Shaggy.
...this is groundbreaking.
Opening sequence. Driving test.
As they talk, we discover…
…not only does Shaggy have a license…
…Scooby has one, too.
Let that sink in.
For an unknown number of past episodes and movies…
…for years, or even decades…
…Scooby could have been driving the Mystery Machine if he wanted to.
This is a magnificent development.
Every once in a while I’ll randomly click the activity feed of the blog, and go “huh, guess that has 30,000 notes now.”

i’m going to be honest i kinda don’t trust the scooby fandom when they call a piece of scooby media “the worst scooby movie/show” or any variation of that because they’ve done that with multiple movies and shows over the years. it’s like the boy who cried wolf. you already said this about 10 other pieces of scooby media i don’t believe you.
I just know this sequence would be hilarious in animated form
