the puritism shit in fandom culture actually has to stop. like actually. Just because someone likes a drawing that has adult themes doesn't mean witch hunt them to hell, just because a creator makes adult content doesn't mean attack them. Just because someone has a ship with a problematic character does not mean they condone that behavior.
Tumblr has this nifty set of features not a lot of people know about so I will run through them with you to explain them each
Content labels
these nifty little labels here prevent anyone under the age of 18 from viewing content posted on someone's account! if you recall when you make a tumblr, you are required to put an age in. If you lie about your age, creators cannot be at fault for that. These are put in place to keep minors safe, any misuse of the age system by minors is something individual creators cannot do anything about. It is put in place to protect minors so that they don't become exposed to content not meant for them.
The Block Feature!
oh no! an account I don't like posted something i don't want to see. DW i got you, see instead of trying to argue with a brick wall there's a nice and cute little feature added just for you! the block button. Not everybody is going to agree with you online and lemme tell you sometimes that means you just gotta press this nifty little button right here.
now once you've gone ahead and blocked that person, you won't be seeing their content, and they won't be seeing yours! but what if you block someone on accident? well, take a little scroll down your personal blog settings and find the "blocked tumblr's"
under this list will have all the accounts you have blocked! all you have to do is find that person you accidentally blocked and press that wacky little unblock button.
