on tumblr you can't complain about movie snobs because the people gatekeeping films are the enlightened fandomites who, in the pursuit of defending the quality of entertainment monopoly-made animated films aimed at children, reduce every single other movie to being in the same category as The Brave Little Toaster, and thus perform a discourse where anything a film has to say is basic enough a 10 year old can appreciate it

there's a difference between completely disregarding the personhood of children and their capability to understand complexity and recognizing the fact that a person evolves and accumulates experiences as they age which allow them to understand the full content of certain pieces of media better. and if everything was made for the most basic and broad audience possible, i.e. assuming the viewer doesn't have any implicit knowledge that a piece of media needs to spell out, we would live in mediocrity world and art would never develop

I always liked the aus where leafy loses her memories. So in this one, instead of a death penalty TB and GB finds a way to supress evil leafy through erasing leafy's memories and instructed everybody to ignore/avoid her so they wouldn't trigger evil leafy to appear.
