Return
He did not remember the last time he felt the familiar refreshing scent, the gentle breeze that was passing through his face and was lazily trying to ruffle his, already tangled, hair. For a moment, Yugi just let himself recollect everything he had kept in his memory, every moment he had lived and every person he had accepted in his life. He did not forget. He did not forget nor tried to erase what he lived. Everything was kept in his mind, intact and carefully saved deep inside him. Good moments, bad moments... Even those awkward that he once tried to forget.Â
Grabbing his luggage, he walked lazily through the airport towards the exit. He still did not know where he should go. Maybe everyone had moved on and had forgotten all about him. Still, he would not judge. He was the cause of it, he was at fault. He left without saying a word, simply leaving a note for those he treasured the most and hoped they would forgive him.
Was he now a lost memory? Perhaps a past memory. It did not matter anyway, he knew those he needed and he would fight for their forgiveness, he would fight to have those he loved back to him. Was he being selfish? Well, selfishness is a part of him. It is just one of the many flaws he has... Or so he thinks. But again, he did not care as long as he reclaims what once was his.
//Just a casual reminder that I'm not dead but simply extremely busy with everything I got myself into. I will be back very soon, I promise!
A young woman glances around the busy streets, bewildered from the surroundings that she is not familiar with. It's almost like Harmony is in a different world. She pulls her jacket closer and walks around, fascinated by the peculiar environment. "I don't think I'm not on Gaia anymore." Harmony mutters to herself while looking for anyone who may be of help. [Ooc: Hello! ouo]
Cold weather always triggered a feeling of comfort to Yugi and when he had time for himself, he usually took a walk around the city. Domino always had a glimpse when the cold season arrived and there was simply no way to not wander the streets. The wind literally froze his face and his nose clearly was showing a reddish color, but not even that could change the course he was following. It was not snowing yet but the way things were going, sooner or later the snowflakes would start to fall.
Pulling his scarf closer and fixing his wool cap, Yugi kept his pace through one of the streets. Hands were hidden inside his pockets but sometimes, and for a brief moment, he tugged out his mobile to see the time he had left.
It was not long until he found a girl looking around, as if she was lost or trying to find any indicator of the place where she was and as usual, Yugi never ignored someone who was in need of help. Approaching the girl, still unaware of his arrival, Yugi tapped her shoulder softly. âHey, do you need help?â
Alone in a strange world, Harmony resort to her instinct in defending herself. She is familiar with a world of uncertainty and the struggle in a dying world. She fought to survive and aid in fending the innocent from the tyranny and corruption of an organization that betrayed her, and from a madman who was once the beloved general, their hero. It was not necessarily a battle of world power, it was the fight for survival of the Planet. It was a grand war for the right to live for one more day. Being left alone with only the few supplies on hand and no allies, just like old times. This time, it is on foreign terrain, perhaps on a different planet.Â
The cold got to Harmony. She hugs herself to keep warm, but confused on where to go in a city of lights lighting the dark of night, far brighter than the Gold Saucer, of monstrous signs displaying phrases in a language Harmony does not understand, and of visuals that she found peculiar. She keeps her head low and pulls her jacket around her, hoping no one will notice the implants she hides under her bangs and clothing. No one is going to believe any of what sheâs been through.Â
Harmony tenses from the touch and she jerks back, turning to face the young man before her. Thankfully, common sense dominated instinct and keep her gun hidden. She looks at the man with fear in her visible eye. He doesnât look threatening, though his appearance is quite interesting. The cyborg seen people with unusual appearances on Gaia, but not to the extreme. He is as extraordinary as the world around them. Harmony straightens herself up, doing her best to remain poised and professional.Â
"Ah, P-pardon me for that display. You gave me quite a start, sir." Â Harmony starts, though she isnât sure how to get the answers she needs or explain herself. She isnât sure if she could be understood, but she could pick up a few words from the stranger. Though it sounds foreign, thereâs some similarities which she recognizes from Wutaiâs language. Both languages are very distinct from each other, yet she can pick up some of the words. Itâs better than nothing.
"My name is Harmony, Harmony Halcyon." Itâs all the information feels comfortable in giving to a stranger. "PleaseâŠtell me where I am? What is this place?" She shivers when a cold wind brushes by.  These are ridiculous questions, but she didnât know how else to ask without seeming stranger than she does now.Â
Bad approach. Obviously he should have expected such a rough act but apparently there was no need to worry - the woman seemed to have calmed herself before acting. Taking a few steps back to keep a considerable space between them, Yugi kept his smile as he gazed the woman. For a brief moment, words did not seem to coincide with her expression, the fear was well visible and for a second Yugi asked himself if he had such a scary frame.
"My name is Yugi. Yugi Mutou. Itâs a pleasure to meet you." He said politely, bowing for a short moment before straightening up again. "I saw you looking around and thought you were lost. I guess my assumption was right." And thankfully he was close by to help her. "You are in Domino, one of the main streets to be precise." He did not know if such information was enough but if she was there and spoke japanese fluently, at least she knew which country she was. "May I ask how did you get here? By train? Airplane?" Basic questions, that hopefully would not transcend her personal boundaries.
ââ-
She quirks an eyebrow when she hears Yugi speak. Harmony takes note of him bowing, a gesture of greeting, about the same as Wutaiâs customs. She returns the bow as she hopes not to offend for not doing it in the first place. Yugi Mutou. I never heard of that before. Harmony listens with confusion apparent on her face. Yet, she can pick up a few words. His language sounds almost the same as in Wutai, but with only a few words are recognizable.  Domino? I never heard of that place before. This canât be good! Fear strikes her from the confirmation that she is in a completely different world.Â
Harmony barely heard him, but by the few words referring to modes of transport, she is sure he is asking her how she got here. No one will believe her! The last thing Harmony remembers was her home in a dire state once more. A team of crazed scientists opened a portal to other dimensions and Gaia was in danger. The cyborg came to the aid of her allies to save the Planet. It was a harsh battle against the enemy and their powerful minions, but they saved Gaia. However, Harmony became careless. She was too close to the closing portal and the force was so great, she couldnât get away in time. Her home is safe, but it was at a high price.
It all makes sense now. Harmony spent years fighting for the good of others and save their dying home. It cost her arm, eye, reputation as a citizen and soldier; and nearly her life.
Now it cost her right to live in the world she was born to, the world she sacrificed so much for. Itâs gone and Harmony is left alone in a world not like her own.  The young woman steps back in devastation. She shakes her head. He wonât believe her. He may think sheâs crazyâŠand these implants concealed. They will surely strike fear in the inhabitants here. âCanâtâŠâ She utters painfully, ashamed to look at Yugi. Her mind scrambles for more words she remembers in Wutain, to sound somewhat coherent. âCanât tell youâŠâ
Never before he had seen himself in such situation. The excruciating silence after his questions seemed an indicator that something worrying was happening to her. And he did not know if, given the circumstances, he was able to help. Yet, he stood still with hands seeking for his pockets as the cold stubbornly tried to cool them. His gaze was still over her and trying to find out what was she thinking with all the expressions she unconsciously was showing.Â
As the other stepped back, Yugi unwittingly took the same number of steps forward. He did not want to miss an indicator. Her unforgettable expressions were enough to tell him she was lost and extremely scared. And her hesitation was a fact of her limitation with the language. Nevertheless, it was good enough to realize her circunstances and possibly help her.Â
Numerous overtures were thought but none seemed right as he eyed the woman. She seemed more fragile than what he had thought beforehand. "I see..." Words started to rush and leaving his mouth, hopefully in a moderate and calm tone. "That's understandable and I won't insist in the matter. But..." Hand nervously reached the back of his hair and he rubbed it as he gathered words to speak. "You need help. And I'm here and able to help you. But if you do not cooperate, we'll never leave this place. The cold is already reaching my bones and I believe yours as well. But I will give you time to think." Did it sound right and not too harsh? He would definitely find another way if needed, but to leave the girl there without any guidance was not even an option.Â
What He Deserves // thesilenttear
Her gaze was more than enough to tell him no words could change her decision and, for some reason, he felt frustrated. It was clear that she already knew the consequences, there was simply no way to not know that and nevertheless it was obviously that there was no intention to change it. It was like she was running into her grave. And unexpectedly, a feeling of despair began to grow within him.
"If you think there is nothing more he can destroy you are completely wrong, Artemis. He can harm you. He will harm you." Her revenge was far more serious than what he thought. She would definitely do something reckless and Pegasus never gave second changes. She would be death in a heartbeat if needed. "Just⊠Please. Think about it. You are not a fool, you know what you are going to face when the time comes."
Why was he even concerned about her? It was her life, her own problems. They barely knew each other. So, why? He rarely gave a damn about others, it was something he had learned with what had happened with his ex-friends. âAnyway⊠Itâs just an advice. If you still find it worth⊠Then continue with your revenge.â His voice almost raised but kept it as steady as possible. Surprisingly, anger started building up and he couldnât understand why but he needed to do something. He needed fresh air, something to clear his mind. Getting up from the bed, Yugi picked up the empty bucket and the open box of crackers and left the bedroom with no words. Definitely, he needed to stop this nuisance.
"Harm me?" She asked, letting out a bitter laugh. "Do you seriously think I spent all this time searching for him without learning some way to defend myself? I took the time to study quiet a few types of martial arts and I assure you, my teachers were quite brutal. And I know my way around weapons, so Iâm quite covered in both categories."
She watched in confusion as he only seem to grow frustrated and walked away without a word. She raised a brow and stood up, quickly trailing behind him until they were both in the kitchen.
"Yugi? What are you so worried about?" She tilted her head to the side, confused by his behavior. What the hell was going on with him. Why did her quest agitate him so much. She could tell he had no love for Pegasus and she would make sure that he was made to look more like her victim an an accomplice if that really was what he was worried about. She knew his job and friendship with Kaiba was important to him and she would do all she could t protect him.
"Yugi? Seriously, whatâs wrong?"
Not even a glance was given to her as he threw what he had in his hands into the bin. Spinning on his heel he nearly ran into the one who was causing all his agitation and frustration in the first place. âNothing.â He muttered with a defeated gesture before raking a hand through his hair. âI just need some time alone.â Desperately needed time alone. It was useless even trying to talk with her when he felt he couldnât handle himself.
In a speedy pace, he walked towards the living room and took a seat on the couch. Head rested against the warm fabric and deep breaths were taken as he closed his eyes. He needed calm or his brain would never function as he wanted to.
She seemed well aware of Pegasus capabilities but her statements said completely the opposite. There was no strenght nor power that could be compared to what the manâs had. Even Kaiba who was known as one of those who had more power in Domino couldnât go against him. Sometimes, even if for a brief moment, he could swear he was afraid of the man. And she, such a small being, was seeking for revenge. It didnât make sense. She didnât make sense at all.
His words stung and for a brief moment, she thought she had been struck across the face. She watched him for a few moments before going back to Yugiâs room, quietly shutting the door behind her.
Why? Why did his disappointment bother her so much? Why did his, what she could only assume was some kind of concern for her, upset her? Perhaps it was because he doubted her abilities, doubted she could take on the man who had taken everything from her. It had to be it. Damn it, he shouldnât be affecting her confidence this way! She had trained fro this from the time she was eleven years old, she had chosen the path of hatred, the path of revenge. She knew damn well what she was getting into! Sheâd researched past attempts on his life, studied all their plans and found all the flaws that had cost them their lives. She would be the one to take the demonâs head! She had to be! It was her destiny, damn it!
Artemis collapsed onto the bed, feeling emotionally drained. She slid under the covers, pulling them tightly around her shoulders, trying to warm herself up some before she fell into an uneasy slumber.
The silence helped to recover himself from all the previous situation but uncertainties were still to clear to be forgotten. For his distress, there were no answers for all the trouble he had put himself into and he reached a limit that he didnât care anymore. He was stupid and reckless for letting a woman reach so far in such a short time. It was worthless to deny such a fact - his liking for her had grown faster than what he had expected. More than an acquaintance, Yugi started to consider the possibility of having the woman as a friend. And the was his worst mistake. The concern, the anxiety and frustration were the result of such a thought and Yugi wasnât ready to deal with all those feelings. Not yet.
Opening his eyes slowly, Yugi stretched his legs and looked around in search for the woman that turned his life into a mess. She really did what he asked for. The living room was empty and without signs of her existance. Getting up from the couch, Yugi walked towards his room, the only place where she dared to stay. His room or the library but he hardly believed she was there after what he said. He had gone too far. Yugi had seen her expression when his harsh words left his mouth and guilt was felt now that he had his mind clear from problems.
Without prior invitation, Yugi opened the door and closed once he was inside. As he had expected, she was lying upon his bed and her head was covered with the blanket, forbidding him to know whether she was awake or not. With light steps, he approached the bed and sat on the edge where she was closer to. A hand reached out the blanket and pulled a little down, enough to look at her face.
Artemis had been asleep until she felt the blanket being pulled away. She resisted at first, trying to pull it back over her head. When her resistance proved to be futile, she opened her eyes and peered up to see Yugi gazing down at her.
"Feeling any better?" She asked, sleep still laced in her voice, suddenly feeling rather cold. She tucked the blanket around herself, hoping it would fight off some of the chill. From the looks of things, his mood seemed to have improved a little bit, but it still couldnât hurt to make sure.
Maybe she could even make it up to him with some tea or hot chocolate.
"Just a little but yes." His voice was no more than a whisper. As the other tugged the blanket closer, his hand reached her cheek and cupped it in an attempt to find out if a fever was growing. It was impossible to feel cold in his bedroom, the implemented system kept his apartment in a pleasant temperature. "Are you alright?" The question escaped his lips without his consentment. "Do you want something? Or need something? I can bring you a warm drink."
Deep inside, the questions he asked seemed more a way to escape from bringing up the previous subject and the excuses he had prepared. But Yugi would not avoid and forget what he said and how he acted. And certainly he wouldn't let his cowardice overstep his principles.
Yet, he did not know if she wanted to talk about it. He could recall her expression when he left the room and the hurt her eyes couldn't conceal.
ANA nervously giggled at his off comment about her being a robot. Figures that would be the first thing humans went to to hearing hard driveâŠ
"A-A robot? Oh noâŠ" ANA said with a chuckle.
"Iâm an advance artificial intelligence inside a digital ghost body known as a...
ANA sighed as she looked around. She had to make sure there was no one else listening to her next words.
"It seems I have failed in trying to be human... I said I am an advance artificial intelligence inside a digital ghost's body, also known as a spectre. I came to not only break away for some vacation from fighting my twin, evil brother but to also seek out any data on his movements around here." ANA said in a whisper to him.
"So no...I fear you are not crazy. It is I who am to think I could pull off being a human. I am away from the war against my brother...yet I cannot fake this well." ANA said with a sigh, putting her book away. She knew he would have many questions and inquires. All humans tend to once they know about her.
She was talking nonsense. Definitely. And he would be mad if he stayed to hear all the craziness she had in her mind. "Look... I don't know what you are talking about. But I'm pretty sure you are crazy. Or I'm deaf and what you are saying it's not what I'm hearing." Or he was just trying to escaped from the fact that what she said was the true. Still, it was too much to digest and he needed time... Time to think and time to accept.
"Okay... Let's suppose that I believe in you." He took a deep breath as he steepled his fingers in an attempt to keep himself as calm as possible. "Why your brother is here? Is he danger for us? And how did you get here? Don't tell me it was by a spacecraft."
Another one of his mirrors? Yuugi smiled âHi there!â He said happily
"Hello little one." He said with a smile as he approached his lookalike. "How have you been?"
Yuugi smiled âlittle one? Er.â He sighed and then laughed...
thesilenttear started folowing you.
Yuugi pouted slightly "yeah..I guess..I'm nineteen years old!" He chirped happily, smiling brightly "that's good!" He said softly
"Nineteen? Hum, I see... So, did you decide to attempt college?" He asked. All Yugis had a different story and Yugi always liked to hear each one as long as the other wouldn't mind to share.
thesilenttear started following you
"Ah." he nodded and gave a small smile. "Thatâs easy enough. Iâll help you."
"Okay, so letâs go to my place since you donât mind whatever the place." He said, grabbing the otherâs arm. "You ready? Or there is something you must do before we go?"
(I doubt it. I goy no farther than algebra. Iâm on my phone. Sorry.) He shook his head and stood. âWe can go now.â
"Great, let's go!" The way back home didn't take long and once they were inside Yugi prepared a quick snack and grabbed the other to his room. "Well, we can eat first and study after. I can't concentrate with an empty stomach!"
"Time heals everything, Mai. Iâm alright, donât worry about this minor statement." Three years were more than enough to heal his deep wound. Actually, he did not remember the last time he cried because of his Grandfatherâs death. " Iâve already moved on and thankfully I had my friendsâs help at the time."
"Oh, those are great news. We should definitely use the time you have here to hang out sometimes. We never know when another adventure may arise."
Hearing that Yuugi was able to heal from losing his Grandfather over time and with the help of his friends, Mai could only give him a smile. Though, she wished that she was there with him to help heal his wound⊠She was still glad he was able to move forward and she can tell that by the tone of his voice. âIâm glad to hear the others were there with you, Yuugi and that youâre all right.â
She gave him a smile, âOh we should! We really need to catch up, hon.â She gave him a wink.
"Thereâs so much I want to tell you and the others about my travels. Iâm sure youâre eager to know."
"Do you have time now? I have the day off today, something that's really rare these past few days." He sighed, arms crossed over his shoulder. "We could spend the day together and catch up everything thought I must tell you, beforehand, my life didn't change at all and remarkable moments are practically nonexistent."Â
"Happy birthday Jounochi-Kun!" Yugi said with a smile, handing a bucket of yellow roses. "Thought it would be appropriate to give you these for your birthday."
Jou gave Yuugi a big grin. Any present from a Yuugi was a good present. âThankâs Yug! Iâll do my best tah keep them alive for at least a bitâ Jou said as he took the bucket and looked at the roses.
"Well, I believe they can keep themselves alive at least for a couple of days." He had picked up some for himself and they were still alive. "I know itâs no big deal, but money is something Iâm in lack of. Besides, I didnât know what you wanted for your birthday."
"You could have given me a pile of roicks and I would have been happy with that" Jou said with a light laugh "I know what itâs like tah lack money so Iâm not all that picky" Jou said as he gave the other another thank you.Â
"Always like that, Jou. Really you deserve more than these flowers. I promise Iâll give you something you really want after I pay all my bills." He stated, knowing the other would complain. "There must be something you would like to have. And Iâm patiently waiting for you to tell me."
Jou and Yugi would end up having a bit of a staring contest before Jou gave a sigh âI like tah eat chocolates and I donât mind getting new packs of Duel Monster cardsâ Jou said, knowing that those werenât all that expensive as he didnât want to put the other out.Â
"Chocolates and Duel Monster cardsâŠ" Yugi whispered as he steepled his fingers, gazing thoughtfully down at the sidewalk. "Seems legit. I never thought about those things though. They seem too simple to be given as a gift." A sigh escaped his lips and he gazed up at his friend. "Fine, next time I will give you that. Valentineâs day is almost there."
Jou blinked at that. Now that he thought about it, his birthday was pretty close to both Christmas and Valentines day. He didnât think about it too much as it was only in the more recent years that those days meant anything to him, since he became friends with Yuugi. âSure, sounds like funâ Jou said with a grin.
"We could spend the day together, what do you thing? I mean, if you donât have a Valentine." Geez, everyone was so busy with that day, all his friends had already a Valentine. But Yugi didnât and would rather not have one. It was much better to spend the day with a friend.Â
Jou thought about it for a bit before he nodded âSure, sounds like it could be fun. Where should we met up? And No eating contestsâ He said a bit firmly. Eating Contest with a stubborn Yuugi was just trouble as he had learnt.Â
"Fine, no eating contests. But we Could definitely have other contests." He grinned, thoughts being brought to his mind. "At the entrance of Burger World, what do you think? Itâs near almost everything."
It was impossible to count every Yugi he had met so far. But despite it, this little one seemed a little confused compared to the others. They all had already met their lookalikes, turning the encounter less awkward than the usual. But this Yugi seemed⊠Almost afraid. Apparently he had not met others like him yet.
"Hello, Yuugi." He said politely, bowing for a brief moment. "Itâs a pleasure to meet you. I can see you are not accustomed to see someone like you, but donât feel uneasy. Itâs very common to meet others like you here."
"Others like me⊠here?" That only further confused the poor spirit, his shoulders tensing slightly as he looked around, as if that would answer his questions. "Um⊠Am I dreaming or something? What do you mean by someone like me? Where is here?"
"We are in Domino but that doesn't mean this is our time. Well, I can say it's certainly not mine. Maybe it's yours." He stated, pressing the pad of his finger against his chin. "It's complicated but you will understand. May I ask your age?"

"No way! Youâre Yugi Moto, The king of games!" Yuko was in awe. This had to be a dream, her idol was standing right in front of her!
When would he be accustomed to these sudden approaches? Definitely never. âHello, indeed Iâm.â He said with a smile, hand rubbing the back of his head nervously. âMay I ask your name, missy? Itâs unfair, you know mine but I donât know yours!â
"Yuko Minazumi. Nice to meet ya!" The pinkette smiled, just as a thought popped into her head
"I just noticed, we have the same initials in our first and last name!"
A chuckle drowned out the silence after hearing what she had said. "I guess you are right Yuku. It's also a pleasure to meet you. Do you play Duel Monsters?"
thesilenttear started following you
"Ah." he nodded and gave a small smile. "Thatâs easy enough. Iâll help you."
