Personally I see that he does it because he wanted to be closer to Max because he has a crush on him. Also because i headcanon him as a furry and he’s making sure he’d be able to last in a fursuit if he’ll ever get one commissioned.

also because he loves his school and has fun seeing so many people happy. Oh thing he hates about it are the fans that try to unmask him for whatever reason.

also the only one he’s told is Ruth and Pete because he sees them it’s being trustworthy.
