like amy dunne was so right being the only child does make you insane because guess what baby you are IT both of your parents project everything they could ever want in a child onto you and god help you if you don’t live up to it. because then you are your parent’s least favorite and only child and that is not an easy road 2 tread. you are a failure for not being the son your father wanted, but you’re also a failure for not being the kind of daughter ur mother wanted. and when your parents die you are going to shoulder that burden alone, as their least favorite child. but ur still their only child like ur the only one they taught to walk and talk and drive and the only one they dropped off at school in the morning and the only child they screamed at and fought with and destroyed their relationship past the point of repair with and ultimately ur the only one they ever loved. idk it drives me crazy !!!
