Tamlin doesn't hate Feyre. Lucien hates Feyre. Feyre's plan? Get Lucien to "plead her case" to Tamlin. So go to the one who probably wants you dead to get the one who's trying to be nice to you to... Be nice to you?
I didnât doubt Tamlinâs claim that the rest of Prythian was deadly for a humanâand if there was indeed some blight on these lands ⊠I was better off here for the time being.
But not without trying to find someone who might plead my case to Tamlin.
At this point Feyre is completely unaware of the need for her and still thinks that according to the treaty she must remain in Prythian.
She does however know that she's likely in the safest place, her family is taken care of and she's not a slave or servant. She even thinks to herself there's not really anything she can do if she gets back home.
SJM also didn't really build an emotional connection between Feyre and her family so why would the reader believe or care about Feyre wanting to go home??
Iâd never been particularly good with words, had never learned the social warfare my sisters and mother had been so adept at...
I feel bad for her
we know sweetie, don't worry, sjm got a mind reader in the bag so you won't have to learn or grow as a person and even though you'll be HL you'll have no real power or job so it won't matter then either
Feyre can hear the Fae of the manor but not see them. I think it's Alis' nephews. They're laughing at her. I wanna see what Fae kids are like
And the plates ⊠I could have bought a team of horses, a plow, and a field for just one of them. Disgusting.
Acotar Feyre hauls out the guillotine for High Lady Feyre
The stable boys she can see for some reason and they all have horse masks. Were they at Amarantha's ball too? Did she invite literally every member of Tamlin's court? And as stable boys why would you all wear horse masks to a fancy party? Was it a work event?
Chapter 9
Again, in retrospect, Lucien knows they need Feyre so why is he so committed to acting like he wants her dead or gone. SJM don't make your characters look stupid challenge: failed for the 498th time.
"He cares about Andras" Andras literally gave his life so they would have this chance??
"Where is the rest of Tamlinâs court?" Feyre says this and we're supposed to believe she doesn't know he's the high lord???
âSomething was sent from the shit-holes of Hell,â Lucien and Jurian definitely bonded over how much they personally hate Amarantha.
Anyway,â Lucien went on, âthe High Fae donât have specific powers the way the lesser faeries do...
A lie????

I didn't finish writing this but I'm gonna post this anyways, maybe it'll make someone crack a smile
i hate the idea of tamlinâs redemption arc. bc what it means in sjmâs book is that hes gonna come crawling to rhys and feyre and beg for forgiveness. bc the ultimate character development for SJM is having oneâs mindset aligned with her two favs and being on good terms with them. theres no way she will write it differently for tamlin and i HATE it. the best she can do for tamlin is leave him tf alone at last
if u really think about it Feyre was more of an arm candy she so desperately didnt want to be in the Night Court than she was in the Spring Court
remember when in acomaf womenâs rights advocate Rhysand says âShe would wear my crown, sit on the throne beside mine. Never sidelined, never designated to breeding and parties and child-rearingâ.
isnt it HILARIOUS how out of all these things Feyre only ended up wearing a crown and sitting on the throne? đ€Ą at the end of the day she was sidelined, paraded as Rhysandâs pet at parties in and outside of NC and ended up pregnant soon after and given the precariousness of her situation was basically entirely at Rhysandâs mercy. while in Tamlinâs court she actually started doing things and connecting with locals, started attending formal events, earning a name for herself. and sjm means to tell me that she was treated as an object by Tamlin and not Rhysand just because the latter let her be a warrior woman? bruhhhh
I will never forgive sjm for what she did to Tamlin's character. There have always been love triangles in YA books, and there are many great examples of it being done right. It was completely unnecessary to just make Tamlin out to be the villain when it's clear that he really isn't.
acotar is a dangerous series to read for teens bc what sjm is essentially doing is showing various instances of abusive behaviour and picking and choosing which ones should be considered abusive. this is appalling. she shows a young girl who picked her books that when a man locks you up EVEN if to protect you and ur not ok with that, you are in ur right to leave him. in the same breath she tells you that if a man dresses you in something disturbingly revealing and gets you drunk on his lap/controls your pregnancy/hides crucial info from you/forces you into things you otherwise wouldnât do thatâs justifiable BECAUSE hes supposedly trying to protect you. and then its also okay if that turns into a whole pattern as long as the dude is reiterating that its your choice and you should not try to question if itâs actually that or a mere illusion of choice. Im sorry but Tamlin is a saint compared to Rhysand and sjm chooses feysand as the endgame. what kind of message is this sending exactly? đŹ
if ur gonna write a book incorporating such important and sensitive topic as abusive dynamics in relationships you might wanna approach it responsibly to avoid creating literature with highly controversial rhetoric like sjm did. the saddest part is that this controversial rhetoric is further spread and defended by acotar worshippers which makes me sick. especially when itâs grown women defending this on social media..like, cmon, you should know better than that
Every single problem between Tamlin and Feyre could have been solved if they just TALKED. You know, like NORMAL COUPLES DO. I'm sorry, but sjm's character development skills are total shit. Actually, no, I'm not sorry.
being uncomfortable becomes easier when you realize thatâs literally the point. itâs like working out. if you work out & it becomes easy for you, you already got all you could out of that workout. your body adjusted & is strong enough to handle it now. youâre not improving anymore. thatâs why you up the ante with harder workouts, where youâre uncomfortable & not quite strong enough yet. bc eventually you will be strong enough. but if itâs not a challenge, thereâs no gain. & thatâs exactly how it is with situations out of your comfort zone. the more you put yourself in them, the easier they getâbut that in-between phase where youâre struggling is still completely valid and ok and natural. itâs whatâs supposed to happen. itâs whatâs going to change you as a person. and you should keep doing it
Poinsettias actually aren't any more toxic to cats than most household plants. The idea that they're highly toxic is a myth and it would take your cat eating A LOT for there to be any serious issues.
The rest of these plants are accurate though and I want to stress the lilies especially. Lilies are one of the most common ornamental plants for people to keep in their homes and also one of the most dangerous for cats; even licking a bit of pollen from their fur or drinking water from the vase can cause a cat to experience fatal kidney failure. If you have cats, just don't bring lilies into your home at all. It's not worth it.
That includes daylilies, tiger lilies, Easter lilies, and tulips, which are often included in lists of "safe" plants but are absolutely not safe. Tulips are part of the lily family and just as toxic to cats.
Poinsettias are not very toxic to cats, but the milky white sap found in poinsettias contains chemicals called diterpenoid euphorbol esters and saponin-like detergents. If ingested, these substances will cause digestive upset, such as vomiting, drooling, or rarely, diarrhea may be seen. If the milky sap is exposed to skin, dermal irritation (including redness, swelling, and itchiness) may develop. Rarely, eye exposure can result in mild conjunctivitis (âpink eyeâ secondary to inflammation). Signs are self-limiting and donât require medical treatment unless severe.

If you are a cat owner, then you should be careful this holiday season with what plants you bring into your home. Poinsettias, lilies, holly
the concept of how sir arthur conan doyle was as a person always sends me into fits. imagine making the most famous literary character of all time but you hate the character so much you try to kill him off. but everyone is so horny for this asshole detective they make you bring him back. even your own mother gets mad when heâs dead because she likes him. raising your prices to ridiculous rates to avoid writing holmes stories backfired and now youâre rich. itâs absolutely a pain because itâs keeping you from your true passion which is spiritualism despite how one of your good friends harry houdini keeps telling you itâs bullshit. you consider your best novels to be historical ones but theyâre well over shadowed by the nemesis of your own creation sherlock fucking holmes. some fake photographs from some kids convinced you faeries were real and you wrote a whole book about it. you started writing stories in medical school. and yes, also you are a doctor. after youâre dead, they erect a statue of sherlock holmes across the street from your birthplace, causing you to probably roll over one hundred eighty degrees in your grave and scream into your casket pillow.
Every time I look at my Sherlock Holmes books, I think about how much Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would've hated it. That makes me want to reread them even more
