actually while i’ve still got this soapbox stuck to my shoe i also wanna say i think culturally we gotta start conceptualizing physical fitness as a productive hobby rather than an obligation

it’s sort of like clothes. there’s a baseline level of involvement with clothing necessary to stay safe from the elements and participate in society. having a variety of different clothing isn’t *strictly* necessary but pretty tangibly helpful. knowing how to do some minor mending and tailoring is nice. once you get into sewing your own clothes, you’re in hobby territory. if you’re making your own textiles from scratch, that is not only definitely a hobby but not something you can expect other people to want to do

Just suddenly remembered the time when I was 16 and my 13 year old step brother's room was searched because of stealing and drugs and he had some of my underwear and my mom just sorta. Completely glossed over it and insisted it wasn't sexual and that it wasn't any different from him stealing random shit. I don't even think they ever confronted him about it.

I was dealing with a lot of shit at the time (I had a breakdown and was hospitalized shortly after) so it wasn't a priority to me but in retrospect, what the fuck??? Seriously, what the fuck???????
