mostly fandom doodles, but might post original arts from time to time
open to asks and suggestions
any pronouns are fine :)
just some of Zeena Li and her morning routine (+ one very grumpy Seku Dia)! I realized that in this post, it isn’t very obvious where her Padawan braid is, and ended up making all of this as an explanation (click the image for better quality).

as a thank you for taking the time read this far, here’s a sneak peek of the next thing I’m working on ;)
the second installment in my series of long rambles about a culture I made up!
this is a companion piece to my conlang, Kule'Ilen, and I highly recommend you check it out, as I will occasionally be using some words from it.
now, onto the backbone of Theelin society: the arts!
In Theelin culture, art was considered a form of magic, and since they believed magic infused all things, everything was an art, from farming to fighting, smithing to architecture, teaching to politics. thus, the arts were divided into three categories: kana'llale, kana'balu, and kana'ha'raha.
Kana'llale, meaning "heart-magic" ("heart" being the organ in your chest), covers physical labor, like farming, and activities with practical purpose, like weaving, metalworking, and architecture. fighting and, subsequently, war are also included in this category.
Kana'balu, meaning "mind-magic", covers what we would consider to be the "traditional" arts: dance, song, painting, jewelry-making, etc. It is any activity we do that has little to no physical impact on the world around, and that we do as tradition or simply for fun.
Kana'ha'raha, meaning "soul-magic", consists of religion, history, storytelling, and the supernatural. This part of the Theelin arts also contains what we would consider to be actual magic, kana'e'uru (basically benevolent witchcraft).
technically, there is a fourth category, but it's not truly considered one of the "arts". Kana'ufa'ta, meaning "tail-magic". while the name might sound a bit silly, it is taken very seriously. Kana'ufa'ta contains everything that is considered taboo and then some. it contains every measure of crime, from simple pick-pocketing to full-on genocide, cultural sins like using the wrong pronouns for someone (their main god is a trans guy, it's a BIG DEAL), anything that defies the natural order of the world (ie. necromancy/the undead), and fobo'saqui magic. Fobo'saqui magic, and fobo'saqui in general, are a relatively new development in the 20,000-year long history of the Theelin. basically, about 4,000 years prior to the Clone Wars, something happened. more specifically, someone happened.
Darth Phobos.
it's a long story, but essentially, Darth Phobos was a Theelin Sith Lord who was so overwhelmingly powerful that the Sith and the Jedi willingly teamed up for the sole purpose of getting rid of her. even then, her cult lived for another thousand or so years, plus a simulated version of her was used in the Insight portion of the Knighthood trials in the Jedi temple.
so, news of this super-evil Theelin who was so evil that the evil people said she had to go eventually reached the ears of the wider Theelin community, and they grew to fear her so much that they outlawed the kind of magic she used, as a way to avoid something like her from ever happening again. it is from her title, Phobos, that the word fobo'saqui sprang. though it meant something closer to "Sith" or "darksider" at first, it eventually came to encompass any bad person who used magic to do bad things.
the reason it is called "tail-magic" is because the Theelin evolved from an ancestor that had a tail, but they were eventually filtered out. saying someone is "trying to get back their tail" means that the person is being especially greedy or prideful, often for no discernible reason. thus, "tail-magic" is actions that are directly greedy, prideful, or sinful.
i'll explain why exactly they're so important to Theelin culture in another post, but for now, that's everything I have to say.
a huge thank you to anyone who made it this far in my ramblings!
so, i've finally decided to put all my scattered notes on the mythology and culture that i've created into a single place! :D
this is a companion to the conlang i've been creating, Kule'Ilin, and I highly recommend you go check that out, because 1. I will occasionally be using words from there and 2. i've put a lot of work into it, and it has evolved quite a bit from when I first posted about it.
this will, of course, be cut into multiple parts, as I have quite a lot of things to say and months of work to show off. this first part is the basics of how I interpreted their biology, and, ironically, one of the very first things I actually wrote down.
so.
*inhales*
Theelin in canon generally have three distinct features; hooves, horns, and brightly colored skin/hair. i say generally because it is also canon that Theelin have been interbreeding with other species for so long that no one can really tell anyone what was an original trait of the species and what has been slowly added to collective gene pool over the course of generations. so, i'm taking what seem to be the three most prevalent features and saying "these are traits from original Theelin".
there could, of course, be some piece of media that comes out in three to five years and takes a sledgehammer to all of this, but hey, a guy can dream.
back to biology! to explain the hooves, I chose the easiest route: they evolved from mountainous creatures or in a mountainous biome (sorry, I see hooves and all I can think is "goat" :/).
now, i have seen two different ways the horns have been placed on Theelin characters. each Theelin has six short horns, three on each side of their head, either clustered near their temples or spread out along the side of their heads. the first option is much more prominent, seen on the majority of Theelin characters, with the second only being placed on a select few (the only one that I can think of off the top of my head is Gooti Terez from Rebels). I have chosen to ignore that, as it is most likely a result of the aforementioned species interbreeding. I might come back to it later, though. we'll see. for their function, it could simply be the same a Togruta's montrals: the horns are slightly hollow, allowing for an altered form of echolocation and wider range of hearing, which would be very useful in a mountainous biome. this also means that I get to give them a scary good sense of balance, which also makes them very good at dancing (more on that in another post).
for the brightly-colored skin/hair, I could use the same excuse of "it's the result of massive amounts of interbreeding", but that would be boring, so I came up with a different solution: the mountains that they evolved in were colorful! think of the Rainbow Mountains of Peru, also called the Vinicunca, but wayyyy more vibrant and like. basically everywhere.
other than that, they're basically identical to humans.
thanks for reading my nonsensical ramblings!
if you got this far, here's a smooch on the forehead!❣
are yall ever just, like, going about your day, and then something happens that reminds you of That One Thing?
every fandom has That One Thing.
something that happened that was so viscerally wrong and morally fucked up that just mentioning it is liable to send people into blood frenzy. sometimes it was done by the fans, sometimes it was done by the creators. for mlp it’s Cupcakes, for stranger things it’s the finale, and so on and so forth.
just asking because today I saw a picture of a very specific Pokemon in a position reminiscent of a very specific copypasta.
you think clones had. like. sea shanties. or whatever the space equivalent is.
okay, I need to explain some things. when most people think "sea shanties", they think "cool song that sailors made for some reason". but shanties actually had a much more practical purpose: synchronization.
on large cargo ships, there were a ton of tasks that would require sailors to work on a task for an extended period of time and remain perfectly in sync, such as bringing the ship in to dock, pumping it dry, raising anchor, etc. to stay in time, they would sing a song with a beat that matched the tempo of whatever task they were doing. with everyone singing the same song at the same time, it was an effective way of keeping people from screwing up.
so, we all know that clones have to have a lot of things perfectly in time, like marching. if they were a perfect product, this wouldn't be an issue, but that's not the case. they're human! they're going to mess up! and those that do are often punished or flat-out decommissioned. so, what if they developed their own sort of shanties as a way to keep that from happening?
and yes, I know about military cadences and marches, but this wouldn't be the same. a cadence is a call-and-response sung between military personnel with marching or running, mostly initiated one member (often a drill instructor), and a march is made with music. Both of those options would have been impossible on Kamino: the march because no instruments, and the cadence because having it done by one person means there's someone you can blame, and therefore, someone you can punish.
a sea shanty is sung by everyone at once, which makes it very hard to punish (you can't exactly decommission 2,000 troopers all at once if you want to meet quota). plus, with a shanty, it's much easier to simply whisper at a level the Kaminoans wouldn't hear it(they mostly likely evolved from an aquatic species, their above-water hearing is probably terrible).
Sorry I’ve been a bit absent lately, but I have an Etsy shop now!
It’s still in the beginning stages, so I have only have four different kinds of planned pride stickers. And just a few days after pride month ended, too 😔 (though, isn’t it even more gay to be fashionably late?)
You can check it out under the name StarrySkyThings!
AND as little treat, if you have an order of four stickers or more, you can use the coupon code ANDIMQUEER to get 2$ off! :D

Weird Things That Writing Fic Has Made Me Think About (Pt. 1?)
as of right now, I'm writing a Star Wars clone-centric fic (i'll link it here when I post it), and writing from the perspective of a clone has made me think of some things. like the clones' vocabulary.
there are a lot of metaphors and idioms that we use as daily parts of speech that the clones likely wouldn't use, or even know.
for example: in the first draft of "On The Moon of Arcus II", I used the adjective "chalk-white" to describe something. but the clones wouldn't know what chalk is, and therefore, wouldn't use that phrase. I went back and forth a bit, but ended up replacing it with "plastoid-white" because it's something that they interact with daily and have a very strong (positive) connection to.
that entire debacle got me thinking about what other sayings they might use in place of ours, or just entirely new ones they made up. these are the ones i've made so far:
putting all your men in one dropship - putting all your eggs in one basket
trying to fit two heads in one bucket - an overall pointless and idiotic task that will only end with people getting hurt
we're backed against the same wall - we're all in the same boat
marching in the wrong line - barking up the wrong tree
rations under the bed (referring to a habit a few cadets picked up of stealing ration bars and hiding them for snacks) - skeletons in the closet/a secret that, if found out, could get a lot of people hurt
shifty eyes - cold feet
(ironically, I think that the single one that would stay the same is "your day are numbered". a clone with a defect that became very noticeable (i.e. issues with vision/balance/hearing, aging faster or slower than expected, visible changes to hair or eye color) would likely have very little time until a long-neck took note and had them decommissioned, even with their brothers helping to hide it. as such, they would start counting the number of days until they die. their days are literally numbered)
anyways, i'm probably going to add to this list once I think of more, but i'm up wayyyy later than I should be (I refuse to look at the tie) and i'm tired, so see ya
it’s sooo funny when rude customers encounter employees who can deny them service for the first time.
i was working at a little cafe where I could deny service over bad behavior, harassment etc. & mask mandates had just ended a week before & already people were being weird about me still wearing mine—an N95, the kind shaped kinda like a duckbill.
so this man walked in, looked at me sooo scathingly, laughed at me, and said “damn. never known a woman to choose…practicality over looks.”
And I just said, “oh. you can go, you’re not getting a drink.” And he said, “what???”
I said, “sir, you just walked in at 6 am & called women impractical and me ugly in one sentence.”
And he was so astonished he didn’t even argue he just turned around and left 💀🙏🏻 it was like he suddenly became self aware
One summer I was running ferry rides across a lake so people could see the waterfalls without walking 6 miles when a guy snapped my bra strap as he was boarding the boat. So i immediately threw him off, he started yelling for my manager, my boss cheerfully informed him that, yeah, she’s the captain of the boat and she can kick off anyone she wants. He goes to storm off, looks expectantly at his girlfriend, and she just goes, “Well, I’M not walking six miles, Michael! I’ll meet you back at the car!” and sits right back down!!!!
The expression on his face when he was told that he couldn’t get on the boat, then immediately told that his girlfriend was ditching him? PRICELESS. he just blinked at her and then stormed off like a child. I gave her a free hat and was like maybe rethink this relationship…….
i once had this fucker come up to order a beer. while i pour it he shows me the wanky fucking chemical structure tattoo on his arm and he’s like “hey. you know what this is” i was like “nah sorry” (never cared abt chemistry in school, plus having to look at a some rando’s pretentious tattoo gives me the douche chills). he decides to respond with “heh. you must not read many books”
i immediately stop pouring his beer. i reply: “heh. you must not want this beer.” thirsty boy immediately starts groveling like a worm “please please no i do want the beer im sorry im sorry” believe me when i say it was one of the most pathetic things ive ever witnessed
I genuinely believe that part of why it has become so normalized to be openly callous and evil in politics is that customer service culture has trained affluent people that they can treat everyone they consider beneath them however they want and still be treated kindly.
