Presenting the favoritest girl ever and my personal blorbo, Zeena Li! A Theelin Jedi Padawan and Commander of the 278th legion under her Master, General Seku Dia (sketches pending). This is just her combat outfit! The blue bit of stuff attached to her waist that you can see in the top left-most sketch is a bright, sparkly fabric, usually used in Theelin performances, but here, she uses it as a way for any of her soldier to scan the battlefield and know where she is at a glance.

it’s not really anything to do with bibuibubui in particular, it’s just that the idea of of basic in and of itself being a conlang was so endlessly fascinating to me that i started to research the history of conlanging

and then I starting researching conlanging itself

and then I started making one

so yes, this is absolutely the fault of bibuibubui

I haven’t made a full dictionary yet, it’s still spread out across my multitude of sketchbooks and one very poorly organized google doc lol

if you really want to know, it’s for the Theelin

i know a lot of people have probably done worldbuilding for the Theelin before, but I just wanted to do my own take on it

it’s some ungodly combination of Aztec and Hawaiian, with a little bit of Latin mixed in, and it’s probably kinda horrible because it’s only the second conlang I’ve ever made (if the first one never sees the light of day again, I will die happy)

but I’ll see what I can do about getting what I have onto tumblr :)
